  1. So, I was browsing this thread on SRK http://shoryuken.com/f20/atlantic-south-arcade-game-center-locations-nc-sc-ga-fl-al-ms-tn-google-page-ranking-96392/ and then I noticed this: Boynton Beach: Boynton Beach The Nexus: Digital Entertainment Center @ Boynton Beach Mall 801 N. Congress Ave Suite 604 Boynton Beach, FL 33426 Last Update: Added 4/30/08 - Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Guilty Gear Accent Core, Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom 2, a whole bunch of bemani, PC's, Brawl, Guitar Hero (see tournament thread for location details) I visit there like once a year and have never gone to the mall sadly D: I hope the GG cabinet is still there.
  2. Cheaper sticks tend to have pretty terrible parts, like Hori or Madcatz stock parts. Stock parts generally won't last nearly as long as Sanwas, which can last for years with regular use. They aren't always the easiest things to mod either. Even my HRAP EX has the joystick soldered into place and the ribbon cable is split, so replacing it with a sanwa one is fairly out of the question for me. The Hori Fighting Stick 3 is a pain in the ass to mod too. Buttons are soldered in place, so you have to desolder them in addition to getting quick disconnects attached to the wires. Apparently replacing the joystick with a JLF is also a pain in the ass due to the size of the case. 3. Eh...that's not too much of a problem for me. I think I'd rather wait 6 more days than have to go to a Best Buy and play the game on a 360 pad.
  4. For this month at least, yes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joSOqzOqobs&feature=feedu That aside, at 39:10, jokes happen.
  5. Everyone should quit playing all these other animu games and start playing GG.
  6. I've got group school stuff in like 30 minutes that will last until 7. I might swing by Klaus for like 30 minutes just to see if anyone is over there before heading back to North Ave.
  7. That's crazy Paul. I have some 30 AWG wire at home from when I was going to mod my stick. That stuff is tiny o.o You should mod my HRAP EX sometime after I get it back from home though =P I'll bring you my solder and wire that I never used. Also, Killzone 3 is on your PS3 now. I'll probably install the beta on mine later today. That means having to upgrade firmware though I think D:
  8. I'd do it right now, but John's got it in his room. I'll get that done for you tonight. Killzone 3 is downloading. It was a bitch to get the PS3 on wireless. I really need to set my router up. Also, I heard you finished modding John's stick. How'd you pull that miracle off?
  9. Yea, it's like 3 frames of lag or something like that. That's far more than enough to have people raging at you for trying to play on PS3.
  10. Yea. It's right next to the airport. There's probably like 23u5094380 fast food places and restaurants nearby. I was just having a little fun looking at the stuff the Hilton has.
  11. That sounds more than reasonable for me. Just need people then I suppose. Also, for laughs, check out the menu for the Italian place with a required "business" dress at the hotel. These prices are jokes http://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/content/ATLAAHH/media/pdf/ATLAAHH_andiamo_dinner_menu.pdf (plus it only lists the price as a single, standalone number. I hate it when places do that. Seems arrogant).
  12. It's 99$ a night, right? So if we had 4 people in addition to us, it'd be like 35ish? Also, we should check on the breakfast thing. Not needing to spend money to get food in the morning would be a really big plus. However, it's at the Hilton, and from my experience with hotels, in general, the fancier the hotel is, the less free stuff you get (like breakfast and wifi). Ok, I flipped around on the Hilton site. They've actual restaurants in the hotel, and I bet they like their revenue from those, so no go on the free breakfast. The breakfast buffet is 15$ for the regular one and 13$ for continental, so it'd probably be better to go somewhere else or I might bring a box of poptarts. Also, overnight parking costs 10$ a night as a heads up.
  13. I would love one of those too, but it'd just be way too hard to do. I'd think that character weights would just make most combos either dumbed down to work universally, or the challenge combos wouldn't work on a lot of character because it wouldn't take that into consideration and just throw Ky or someone as a dummy.
  14. I'm probably not going to be around this Friday. I have some class-related stuff to do that will go until 7-8ish, then doing something else after that. I might be in really late, but I don't think it will be likely. And actually Paul, I might be interested in staying at the hotel. I could probably get enough monies from my birthday. If it's potentially under 50, I'll consider it. I just kind of have to be careful as I'm going to enter 3 tournaments and have to save money for food. How many nights are you planning on staying, and do you know if they have free breakfast? I'd be missing out on going to whoever's place we're going to this year, but last year we just crashed as soon as we got back, then went to the venue first thing in the morning, so I don't think I'll miss too much craziness there.
  15. Tsubaki's probably only good online because people eat unblockables all day. That shit's unreactable on the interwebs you know =P
  16. All the Blazblue people should also play some Gear and see it's better. Shibuya, you'd better show up. I want you and Raph to stomp on me in some casuals.
  17. Hey guys, there's another poll for Final Round. Vote for Super Turbo unless you want to have David Sirlin's man-babies. http://www.finalround.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=382&start=0
  18. I'd rather spend a little time each morning getting there than spend the money on a hotel room.
  19. I'm probably staying at the same friend's place as last year and making the trip there each day.
  20. There's no official version of Accent Core with netcode. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?9940-GGXX-Accent-Core-now-%28actually%29-playable-online! has stuff about getting Accent Core with netplay.
  21. The only things I could see going into a Blazblue to Guilty Gear guide would be a list of differences in mechanics. Guilty Gear's really not that complex of a game, it's simply an airdash fighter with a heavier emphasis on fundamentals than say, Blazblue (which I guess could go in the guide as well. Most of the people I know who started with fighting games with Blazblue or play mainly Blazblue, myself included, have terrible fundamentals). That, and execution is harder.
  22. That's still just as easy as someone punching the PS3's MAC ID into the LAWN login page and logging into LAWN from there.
  23. You would just wire the PS3, do a connection test which will fail, then you pull up the browser and log into LAWN (since for some reason internet both wireless and wired requires a LAWN login in Klaus).
  24. A bit of a PS3 mixup happened. Wasn't anything too terrible, as it's been sorted out already. So, it's just about February, meaning Final Round is less than 6 weeks away. After getting stomped by John for in Super Turbo tonight, I think I've decided my goal for February is to finally be able to start to have some sort of a grasp on spacing. That being said, as I haven't learned shit from the game, I won't be playing Blazblue until March (just to brush up for Final Round at that point). I'm not going to touch the game, even if CS2 comes out until my birthday. It's going to be a month of Street Fighter, Marvel, and Guilty Gear for me.
