  1. Maybe in America where people can't block Arakune's mixups once he curses you.
  2. Removing a mixup option against a particular character is no way to balance them IMO.
  3. When I did Tsubaki's #6, I started doing the first jump as diagonal towards, then the second as diagonal back, hitting at pretty much the maximum range for j.236D. I was landing the full ball/dive more often doing that.
  4. I just got the Superior State of Mind trophy, and it does include Makoto. I have 93 challenges not including her.
  5. So, you're still attempting to argue that BBCT Hakumen was top tier, but linking to a video of Hakumen in BBCS in your signature? :psyduck:

  6. If you're just going to be dual modding Cake, there's some new board someone is making on SRK called the TEasy that makes putting in a Cthulu completely solder-less. http://shoryuken.com/f177/project-teasy-mod-your-solderless-solution-te-dual-modding-234867/
  7. The person who made that post signed up on SRK today. I wouldn't put too much stock into what they're saying.
  8. Part of me is excited for another new fighter to play, but I worry that this is going to be Arc System Works' announcement on Saturday. Kind of stuffs my hope for a new Guilty Gear, or a PSN/XBLA port of Accent Core.
  9. Tsubaki has a lot of uphill battles, especially against the top 3. She's not completely terrible, but she can hardly do any damage without charge, and building charge after a combo sacrifices any wakeup game she could have had. If you can somehow build up 3 charge stock though, she can be quite scary. Her 22D unblockable can mess with your opponent's head pretty badly, and she's got some very nice combos in the corner off of 22D and her throw with her Install. Her guard break game is kind of meh, and I believe only her 6C is a fatal counter, which comes out kind of slow and I really haven't seen any uses for it. In all, she's decent. She doesn't have any hopeless matchups like Tager vs Nu in CT, just a few uphill ones. If you're only planning on playing online, I don't see any reason not to play her. I could see her perhaps holding you back if you were to play her in a large tournament just because of how common the top 3 are probably going to be. I was a Litchi player and I'm picking her up though. I think she's a little underutilized perhaps. That being said, I'm still going to have Litchi as a second main. Also, her Chibi sprites are awesome. I'm going to need to find a use for them.
  10. Now that fancy balance patch in a few months just needs to break Tsubaki for the better, eh?
  11. The timing for me was awkward at first for 214A ->22C. Right after the 214A connects, input 22C and hold C for the appropriate amount of time.
  12. I dunno, but I appreciate them doing it as I didn't see this thread before. Time to practice p-linking some more in SSFIV so I can do this stuff when CS comes out.
  13. Starting out on Blazblue was quite intimidating, as I had hardly played any fighters before it. It took me a few days to even try out online, then after using a free 2 day for Xbox live my brother had lying around, I took a week or so break since I was only winning while playing drive-spam Noel. Hell, I bought the game on Black Friday, practiced for like 8 hours that day, and the next day I had friends come over since I was heading back to school on Sunday, and they were beating my Litchi with Jin and only one of them plays other fighters. None of them had ever touched Blazblue. It was quite frustrating and I almost considered dropping Litchi. I took a week just practicing combos from the DVD videos and looking at what my high and low at and playing arcade on hell mode. When I was eating a combo I would think about what happened before it. After I had a few combos down, I started playing with my roommate a school a bit. By that point I could beat him easily, so I'd play overly defensive against him to practice blocking. After a while, more of my games online were wins then losses. Then I went to a tournament and got knocked out in 2 rounds. Good times.
  14. I accidentally focus attack a lot in SSFIV while throwing out kikokens with Chun. No gorilla hands here. A few weeks ago I went bowling and my brother and friend were surprised I could comfortably use a ball with such small finger holes. It's mostly in the way I place my fingers on the stick and how I press the medium punch button, which I think is mostly from learning to play Blazblue on a stick first. I never really had to worry about hitting medium or heavy kick as they didn't do anything. Also, thanks for putting this up. I was going to get around to putting clear semeitsus into my TE and later dyeing the plastic and putting in some artwork. I would have probably have given up for fear of breaking the sanwa buttons while trying to get them out (I want to keep them intact to put back into my Hori EX-SE). Good to know they're supposed to take a frightful amount of force.
  15. I picked Litchi as my main long before I bought CT, or had even played it. I looked at each of the characters and their drive abilities, and decided that Litchi would be a fun character with some depth to her. I had assumed that staff placement would end up being a large part of her game, and she'd probably be a high learning curve character with a nice payoff. I found that staff placement really didn't matter (since most of the time you want to hold onto it except in combos), but I loved her oki game, and I love locking people down with Great Wheel and Thirteen Orphans. For CS, I'm picking up Tsubaki because once again, I just like her drive ability. It's interesting having two meters to manage, I like doing unblockables, and I liked her in CT's story mode, as she was the serious, more leveled headed one of the three NOL girls.
  16. That could be fixed by just adjusting proration on her combo starters. I was playing around yesterday, and occasionally a CPU would block 5B, but then eat the followup move. 5BB 2BB 5CC 236A 214A 22C was doing like 2200 damage rather than the usually ~1900. It's not a huge change, but if 5B had the same proration as the 5B followup, then most of her combos would get pretty large increase in damage I would think.
  17. Is anyone still active with AC+ online? I'm dieing to play against someone in the game. My PSN ID is TerraCrash. PM me if you'd like to play sometime.
  18. What kind of stick is it? Sanwa and Semeitsu parts can usually take a really good beating without any problems. I let an 8 year old and an 11 year old use my two sticks (one sanwa, the other semeitsu) and they just mashed the crap out of them for 2 hours or so and they're still working perfectly.
  19. Personally, I wish Litchi's damage had just stayed the same between CT and CS (except Thirteen Orphans really did need to get some damage reduction).
  20. Long before I bought the game I decided I would play Litchi. I liked her drive ability, and thought that switching between holding the staff and being staffless would lead to her being a very in depth character that would take a long time to learn but be a rewarding character. Looking back on it, I hang onto Litchi's staff like 90% of the time, and most of the time that it's dropped is either mid combo, or I'm just tossing it at kids online to get them to airdash into 13 Orphans. I still use her now because first of all, she's the only character I know a decent number of combos for, and I love her wakeup game now.
  21. I just realized I do this too. You could also just remove taunt and use the 5th and 6th buttons though. It wouldn't cause problems in Blazblue unless you play Tao. Edit: Seeing as this is the Guilty Gear half of the forums though, putting the 2 extra buttons somewhere would be helpful for that.
  22. The only thing that the extra two could ever be used for it shortcut buttons, which if you ever go to a tournament or something, you shouldn't be able to use anyway. Save yourself 10$ and just go with 6.
