So uh... serious question: Can anyone give me a ride? Apparently my flight got rerouted and now connects to a train(?) in Newark, then the train spits me out at Philadelphia 30th. Street Rail Station, PA, which according to google is like 12 miles from the Clarion. I guess I could take a cab but I figure it's worth asking.

I'm personally of the school of thought that says "I'd rather play against the best possible opponent operating within the game-rules." If your abusable glitch gives you perfect execution easily, I'm okay with it. If it changes something about the game-rules, I'm impressed but less okay with it. If having perfect execution makes the game degenerate, then uh, guess the game was degenerate. That's unfortunate. Still, it sounds like the macro glitch allows some stuff that wouldn't even theoretically be possible without it, so banning it makes sense.
-
It's silly that macros need to be banned, but there is an exploitable use case that makes the game differ from the arcade version in an appreciable way, and simply banning macros is a very easy/cheap way to eliminate the problem. I actually consider it pretty lenient and reasonable that players are allowed to agree to allow macros. Additionally, those accustomed to using macros always have the option of manning up.

Plus Justice's having good air tools is completely pointless, since jumping is like, pretty bad against Axl in general, but easily far worse for someone with little air mobility. I swear this is like 7.5 Axl

Dustloop Matchup Chart Project
Digital Watches replied to Digital Watches's topic in Guilty Gear General
Uh, hit pause on a lv 1 move is typically 11F. There are exceptions like Jam's 5K, but they're definitely nonstandard. You can buffer the input as far as I know, and using negative edge prevents false-presses of normals if you're not put in blockstun, so in theory with very good timing you can reliably hit any lv1+ move that's blockable low. Obviously whether that's match-viable is questionable, given that it's still essentially 1F timing. -
Been busy with work, but I'll do science this weekend for ya.

Dustloop Matchup Chart Project

I'll note that guard counters are still special moves, so you can option-select for the failure case by using negative edge (Input your guard counter, negative edge the button, if the attack doesn't happen when you expected, continue to hold back, no move comes out). -
2HS has always been FRCable, hasn't it? I like the sound of them combos, but they were possible in AC too, right? (I kinda doubt 2H FRC Raei is going to be a combo very often, but it's an excellent reset, since it's probably hard to block a crossup when you're busy staggering out.)

The Good, the Bad, and Ugly as Hell Baiken Matchups
Digital Watches replied to THE SERAPHIC 1's topic in Baiken
While I haven't played this matchup much yet in +R, I can assure you that Axl can get a combo off of counterhit Kokuugeki most of the time, and normal hit at certain distances. -
It's been known for a while that you can "FDC" a failed slashback, allowing you to do e.g. [4PH]+Mash S and slashback more often than you could otherwise. I think you can theoretically slashback as fast as you can get the game to recognize your pos-edge S inputs. A human can visibly get more slashback attempts per second than is otherwise possible using this method with no macros.

Yo, looks like this is shaping up to be teams for GG (And since we've got like 80+ votes in this poll, I hope that means the bracket's going to include all those people). Anyone who doesn't have a team on lock yet and wants to team up should PM/AIM me.

NRS player new to GG - assistance needed :)
Digital Watches replied to The_SNKE's topic in Guilty Gear General
Slayer's actually probably middling in terms of execution requirements, and it sounds like he's exactly what you want. There's a bit of a curve to almost any character, so it's more important to get someone whose gameplan you can understand. Maybe give Order Sol a try if you don't like learning links. He's not exactly what you describe but does get to play games like that sometimes. -
Seems like a lot of the scene's problems come from being babies. Stop being babies, people.
-
Dude. Single elim team side tourney sounds hype as fuck. Single elim in general is too uncommon in the states (Probably because people are babies). You should just be really willing to DQ people if they're 15 minutes late and say so. Holding brackets for people is a nice thing to do, not something that should be expected.

So j.H is a baller combo starter. You can confirm a j.H from any height except the very top of its range into damage if you have 50% meter: From High: j.H-Michael FRC j.D-dj.D Saperia, 6H, whatever From Low but not low enough to ground string: j.H-Michaael FRC 6H whatever From really low: j.H, 2H, j.K whatever

Man, I remember when #R wasn't out in the states, and we had to run modded PS2s and import an actual disc from japan (Okay, not if you had the cool kind of mod, but still). Just bite the bullet and JP PSN it. Ultimately you spent 3x the money on your stick anyway, so it's kind of silly not to have the game when it's so easy (There's a handy guide posted for doing it, too).
-
I can do it occasionally (Like not often, but without pause button? Probably something someone could practice up and get reliable), and honestly I'm not seeing it as being super useful. I mean, you've got marginally more options as far as your screen control, and there are some weird empire combos you can get, but ultimately NBs scale the shit out of your damage anyway, so you're not going to see a dramatic increase in Justice's damage or capabilities for mastering this skill (Unlike AC bridget yo-yo glitch). It's of marginal, situational use, and will probably be very hype if it ever comes up in a big tournament... ish, for people who see it and know what's going on and care. Honestly I see no point in banning macros for this purpose.

Confirmed: 6H-623S FRC, 5H works on every character in the game, provided they are crouching and in the corner. The 623S FRC 5H part should work regardless of being crouching, obviously. 623S FRC 5H also works on a surprising number of characters outside of the corner, and 623S FRC 6H as fast as possible works on pretty much everyone anywhere (That one you actually do have to plink it. The 623S FRC, 5H link is considerably easier).
-
FRC with PKS, plink ]PKS[H. It's definitely easier than linking 6H-2S, since you've got more frames to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if some characters were too high/light to get hit by the 5H, but that wouldn't be my first guess. I'll do some science in a sec.

I like the idea of having both a singles and teams tournament for GG, but I don't particularly care if one or the other isn't the official NEC tournament. How should I vote? (IE will people run singles unofficially if teams is official, or will people run teams unofficially if singles is official?)
