  1. This game seems to have some kind of crossup prevention system, like in BB. It's where you perform a really shallow crossup that should be blocked the other way (or at least, that's what it looks like), but instead the opponent can just block whichever way he wants. I'm wondering how many frames this lasts.
  2. Yosuke's R-Action can actually be baited by any jumping normal that hits his standing hurtbox. Like so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGJmGrDi5-c&t=59s Punishing it won't give a CH, but it's actually pretty easy as long as you aren't too fast. If you have a good slow normal, like Labrys 2B, you can punish it without even needing to time anything. And it's pretty much confirmed that, other than Mitsuru and Teddie, the navigators are unlocked through beating Score Attack with various characters.
  3. All I need to hear is confirmation that Agito connects after instant j.B and I'm willing to forgive just about any crap ArcSys throws at Hakumen.

  5. Just so you know, Tsubaki also lost her 22D unblockable. She has a command grab instead...
  6. Apparently the counters are only blockable if Hakumen catches a projectile. If it's physical, they'll just be stuck in hitstop.
  7. Indeed. I got a real thrusting from that.
  8. There's also a spacing where the overhead part whiffs but the low part hits. I've actually seen this happen once in a real match, but unfortunately it got blocked. The guy was Japanese though. If you're wondering, the gap between the two hits is 17 frames. Though it's made easier to block half screen because the opponent fully expects a low to happen after the overhead, just not immediately. Even though there's also a spacing where the overhead part hits, but the low part whiffs.
  9. Zantetsu is a half screen overhead.
  10. Sometimes I purposely do Zantetsu early on an opponent's wake up so that the overhead part whiffs, and then they get hit by a surprise low. It's the best fake overhead gimmick ever. Though it'd be nice if they gave the 2nd hit better proration.
  11. If this Agito hits low enough towards the ground, it might be possible to do it off an instant j.B overhead. Maybe you can get a knockdown or something? That would be pretty good for an almost meterless instant overhead that can be done mid screen. And if by chance it hits lower than Tsubaki does, you would also be able to combo off of instant j.B in more situations too, like against Relius. It'd be nice if we had a picture or something.
  12. Wait a minute. If that works how I think it works, we get j.D combos back!
  13. What about Hakumen's Overdrive? Meter gain is nice, but it also says that you can cancel the D attacks into specials. Cancelling them on whiff seems ridiculous, so it probably means that you can cancel the "attack" part of the counter. Cancelling the attack after it hits seems worthless since, unless the D's changed a lot, you won't be getting much extra damage and you already have enough time to hit them with any special you want without cancelling. So what this might mean is that after you catch something with the counter, you can cancel it (probably with Renka or Gurren) and get a free counter hit combo without the awful proration from the D, basically acting as a 3rd Strike Parry. ...Or it really does allow you to cancel on whiff. ......Or this thing is useless.
  14. http://www.inside-games.jp/article/img/2012/08/06/58739/281580.html Saya Chibi! http://www.inside-games.jp/article/img/2012/08/06/58739/281575.html Also Noel has these...screws on her head. http://www.inside-games.jp/article/img/2012/08/06/58739/281585.html Mikado?
  15. I've only been to one event, and it wasn't this one, but I thought the guys there were pretty friendly and inviting. They didn't have any particular sense of alienation around them. The guys on the stream probably just naturally act like that because their audience is a group of anonymous viewers from the internet, it's different when you come to meet them face to face. Would've liked to come to this one, but my schedule didn't work out. Maybe next time.
  16. j.D used to do 1600 damage, so yes.
  17. So I came expecting to lose, and left with $10. What a pleasant surprise. Thanks to everyone I played yesterday. I had a lot of fun, but I was too sweaty and tired after Zidane's match to do anything afterwards, need to work on that Hazama matchup. Hope to come again some time.
  18. Oh, and if you have good reactions, 2D noel's drives. If you do a 2A or 2B around the same time as Noel's 5D, usually you'll have enough time to recover before 5D's active frames kill you.

  19. 2AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. With the occasional 6A, 2B, renka kisshu

  20. 5D has invincibility in the middle of its startup i think. If you delay 2A or mash it, you can sometimes beat it or trade or whatever.

  21. No. I just mash 5C and hope for the best. Watching the video, it looks like you need to work on your pressure and stuff. Like, i know it's online and all, but you don't want to be using 3C to end off your pressure. Use more 2B, it's like 3C with frame advantage. After a 2B, you can do something like walk forward 2A or 5C to catch drives. If either is blocked, 623A throw or 2A, a couple of hotarus wouldn't hurt either. And, 6C > Shippu sucks. I know it's online and all, but you could've done something like 3C > Renka > 623AA > j.2A > IAD > j.C and then dashed up for a hop tsubaki at 3:03. And when Noel is a full screen away with 50% meter, she's probably gonna air super.

  22. I'm pretty sure neither of those beat it out. Hotaru just clashes at best and D counters grabs during his invincibility frames. Unless I'm missing something. After all, ID's invincibility frames do last a long time. It'd probably be best to backdash or just block and let him waste half his meter.
  23. Not really TBH. Fighting games in general have a very sharp learning curve so you can't exactly expect overnight improvements. It has to be a learning experience, one that is over a long period of time. Has your cousin ever had any experience with other fighting games before? I jumped into blazblue not knowing anything about fighters and it took like 7 months to get the basics down.
  24. Actually as long as you don't fk up the timing hotaru > 5C. 5C's head invincibility seems to last a while so you want to do hotaru a little later than usual. Have hotaru hit during the active frames of 5C (right when he sticks out his tongue) and it should be a free combo.
