  1. Generally, the "22C loops" are only worth going for if you absolutely need the damage (say round victory). Otherwise, you're omitting double BE loops and tons of meter for a little bit extra damage.
  2. SBO and Arcadia are owned by the same people. I wouldn't expect BDs though cus SBO is pretty poverty.
  3. TO should be correct. Since Tager and Tao share their first two letters of their name, you go with the second (so TG and TO respectively). Same thing with Ragna and Rachel (RG, RC).
  4. Foreign team vs JP team = free warm up round before the real tournament for the JP team.
  5. I want to see Dora/Hima vs Team Planet Zero on the DVD so bad. x100
  6. Nah man Flash loves proxies and bunker rushes and he's the best player evarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  7. Fuck Dora and fuck you for rooting for him.
  8. Kaqn is a scrub. Not surprised he was out first round. lolz BB finals were actually really good for it being BB. GG finals were amazing as fuck. Shounen and Inoue was akin to Ogawa vs Machaboo in 07, because Inoue's play was clutch as fuck. I'm really sad that Ogawa's team won cus I hate that mother fucker, but they were the best GG SBO finals since 07. I'm just glad there was no Ogawa OCV and stupid lol Eddie being Eddie shit. N-O's team not making it to top 4 is a huge upset though, IMO. Anyone know what team they lost to?

  10. I was really disappointed in Buppa/Dio. They were the team I was rooting for, but they lost to Tsuji's team that ended up winning anyways. I'm not surprised that Kaqn didn't do very well cus that nigga sucks. Anyways, I'm going to make a results and discussion thread since this isn't really the thread to be discussing results. THREAD BELOW http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10082-SBO-2010-Results-and-Discussion-Thread
  11. I said it once and I'll say it again: lol @ throws for mix up in BB.
  12. They aren't? My mistake then, as I seem to have misread your previous post. Still seems a bit unnecessary to have a pre-req for such a small tournament though. lol
  13. Let's be real here. It's probably unlikely we'll get a bit more than 16 people per game. The room looks like it should have more than enough room, so I don't see the point of trying to "gauge" the turnout. I guess keeping track of who is bringing set ups is nice, but we don't really need a pre-reg list for that. It just seems like a bit much just for a small, monthly ranbat. Not to mention the whole purpose of pre-regging for a lot of bigger tournaments is that it helps organizers make brackets ahead of time and organize the tournament, but that is only at a large scale. It's kind of like saying "well, you didn't pre-req so it's inconveniencing us, so you have to pay a little bit extra". But now I just see it as you're punishing people for the sake of just not pre-registering. It's not like signing up the day of the tournament will screw us over or put us behind in making brackets. It just seems unnecessary, IMO. Also, I don't agree with $3 per game entry fee for the whole season. Maybe the first month it'd be all right to try and get new players into the scene, but after that, I think we should just go back to $5 per game.
  14. Are we seriously doing pre-reg for a monthly ranbat tournament? Seriously?
  15. ☆SECRET SWORD II☆
  16. First ranbat title: FUTAE NO KIWAMI AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! You must randomly shout out lines from Kenshin or you will be kicked out.
  17. Slow vids are slow. Kinda weird on the inconsitent frame rate. First video: 15 fps. Second video: 30 fps. Third video: 15 fps. Not sure what is going on there. @_@
  18. Yeah, I'm talking about players that will respect your options (aka not online players or terribles). Strategy talk always assume high level play and people respecting your options.
  19. Grounded version hits crouching opponent at 24 frames, while the air version (TK'd) will hit a crouching opponent at 23 frames. Both are plenty reactable. Pretty much landing overheads requires you to be fairly random with them. A good example is forcing them to block a j.C and then doing 6B right after. It catches a lot of people off guard because your natural reaction is to block low after a jump in attack. That's just one example, but you guys get the idea. 2B 6B is probably the worst string to throw 6B at an opponent. Sometimes throwing out 6B after a 5A or 2A is good in high level play. People respecting your block strings won't be mashing out after a 5A or 2A, so sometimes it will work (unless they just mash on reaction, which would make you pretty sad face). 22C into dash up 5A 6B is a good example.
  20. Time for a classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGQikVgwMBw
  21. I'll be going to Tyram's house this Friday, so people are welcome to carpool.
  22. What are you talking about? Mashing DP/360/Supers/Ultra during block strings/combos is the way of the future.
  23. Nah I'm not mad at all. Just callin' a dead game dead like it is. I wonder where this magical fantasy land you live in though, because I certainly don't see any of these things you describe. ;( There's always a small amount of people that keep playing old games (like you can find some CvS2 players in Cali that still play), but if said game is not at majors or has a scene on a major scale, it's as good as dead.
  24. I would hope I would be bad at a game I have not played seriously since what... 2008? Or was that 2007 whenever we stopped doing West Toasts here in Cali? Then again I was only playing the game about once a month anyways. And no, skill level has very little to do with, if anything at all to do with, the state of GG in America now. The game was already starting to die in 2008 (GG removed from Evo, tried to host a side event to prove Evo it was a mistake, but the community failed to come together), and then proved itself as being dead with barely acceptable 100+ people in 2009 and with unhype finals. Let's be real here. GG is dead. The GG forums are completely dead. No one in America takes the game seriously enough to actually travel to major tournaments outside of their region/state. Like I said earlier, aside from some small pockets in certain areas (NorCal, NY... Texas..???), the game is dead in America. It's not even on life support anymore like it was last year. By your logic, anyone saying something like CvS2 or A3 is dead in America automatically makes them bad at the game, even though it's undeniable those games are dead. It's okay though; you can keep believing what you want to believe. Don't let me stop you. It's not like I'm even hating on the game at all, but it's pretty undeniable that the game isn't even on its last leg anymore.
