  1. Hello there everybody, its time for some swedish GuiltyGear-action! Now as good as all the videos from last weekends are converted and done, we thought that we´d share them with you "zilly americanz" etc. We´ll probably only upload the playoffs... but you´ll never know! http://www.guiltygear.se - for reports etc. SEASON 2 ROUND 1 First off, the stockholm-ranbat: Semi: Xzi(ja) vs CheeseAbuser(ed) http://youtube.com/watch?v=lMpYrWPdsEk Semi: Cyrox(ve) vs Cr0v(sl) http://youtube.com/watch?v=NW560UDQZro Bronze: Cr0v(sl): vs CheeseAbuser(ed) http://youtube.com/watch?v=xXzQHYTSeSA Final: Xzi(ja) vs Cyrox(ve) http://youtube.com/watch?v=7HAjWDx0mrs And now for some Lund-action! Now most of us from the top4 of lund have begun our transition towards playing with stock (Yonasu being the exception) so keep that in mind (blablabla). But we´ll get to beastin´ excecution . Almost there! Semi: Shinjin:BA: vs Yonasu:SL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLGj3SihUw4 Semi: Nehle:DI: vs Caer:TE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6Y-cGajBWk Bronze: Nehle:DI: vs Yonasu:SL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waTlx8PRJO0 Final: Shinjin:BA: vs Caer:TE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVRvh2Gl2KY With that being said, hope you enjoyed. Next ranbat will be this Sunday. This time we´ll probably be quicker with the vids (at least lund). Though Nehle wont be able to attend, cause he is in China being Chinese with the Chinese.

  4. people should stop pretending too know japanese... its kousagi, #1 source: kakyuu pronounced it that way. ´nuf said. Nabaiken <3
  5. Nice job Hellmonkey. Honestly I havent thougth to much to the K-followup of Baku but yeah it might have some cool uses, i´ll try ´em out ingame and see how it feels. I still haven´t had time to write about the other counters yet though, but I´ll probably do it sometime during next week or so.
  6. Okay, so I decided to come out from my hibernation and actually start contributing with some my experiences etc. etc. So here´s something for that 101 thread, about counters. Lets first take a look at sakura: . Sakura Sakura is your counter of choice if you want to punnish moves with long recovery that dont put your opponent in counterhitstate, for example Slayers 2D/6HS and Jams 6HS/puffball. Now as for other aspects of the Sakura counter, is that it is quite safe to through out there in comparrison to other counters. For example if someone actually blocks your sakura-counter you will get your chance to act. Some options would be: - short dash throw/6K-mixup - 2K/5P into pressure/yzn - backdash / retreat In other words, you have a some sort of yomi-battle after a blocked sakura. Keep in mind though, that if someone actually blocked it they probably will be waiting for you. So if you dont feel that you have implemented "the fear" into your opponent, playing it safe would probably be the best option. Random matchup specific notes about Sakura: Now there is one character that can completly fuck up sakura, Testament. Sakura has 2frames of activity, and the frc is on those two frames (17-18). Testaments Nets remove one frame of activity per net. In other words, if you hit the 17th frame frc, and testament has ONE net in the sakura-hitbox, the sakura will completly miss. Same goes with two nets, frc on 18th frame. Good testament-players know this, so knowing this is ABC. As for combo-followups one could say there are 3-options: 1. Dust-combo 2. dash 5HS tatami-combo 3. 6HS IAD-combo I leave the choosing up to you guys, but just dont run and do 2K-> combo.... that just´s wrong! Now some people would say "hey, why use sakura when you have baku?". Well, as I said in the beginning, sakura can COMBO even if it isnt counterhit. Just because the damage after sakura got nerfed doesnt mean its bad in any way. Fundamentally, one could say that baku needs a setup and sakura just needs a slow attack. Now since I´ve started talking about baku, lets have a look at that counter: . Baku Okay, Baku is the bomb. Especially in certain setups. For actually combo´ing after a baku you _NEED_ a counterhit. If you dont know you will get a counterhit, your better off using Sakura, that is of course if you dont want to do a followup. Some examples for baku-setups are Slayers 6K (aircounterhit) and Dizzys 6HS (ground counterhit). Aircounterhit = combo combo combo!! Im currently experimenting with combo-posibilities from aircounterhit baku on ex. slayers 6K, buts either one does: 6HS/5S jD -> combo or Kiri-Tatami -> combo Since Baku has no prorate use this to its full potential okay? As for groundcounterhit it kinda goes like this: 5HS tatami -> combo 6HS IAD -> combo Now for the followups. P: No dash, no backdash, no jump, no movement. - Now this followup is really sweet. Since its duration is pretty long, you basically control the flow of the match for some time, and by sealing your opponent AA of choice by pressing the corresponding normals button, you can kinda do whatever the fuck you want. The only backset is that you dont really got anything for granted. People can still block you and you used 50% tension for like 51 guaranteed damage, instead of 25% for +120dmg and knockdown. K: All its become counterhits. - Worst of the followups. No real usage if your not trying to showoff with some specific combos. Use it when you want to humiliate someone when they have low HP. S: Next hit = unblockable. - AKA goldburst setup. Baku -> S -> D (for knockdown and sealing their burst). Then do a meaty-goldburst and then follow that up with 5HS/6HS/IAD jHS-meaty for some free damage. Versus ABA you can remove a whole Moroha guage by doing something like: Baku -> blabla knockdown, Goldburst meaty knockdown, meaty kabari frc shit blabla knockdown IK. But unblockable-combos have a really nasty prorate, so its only to be used if you want full tension, want to be flashy or kill ABA a from random counter. ------------------------------------------------------ unfortunatly, working 7-16 is tough so I have to go to sleep now. I´ll finnish it up with Mawarikomi,Ouren (in sweden AKA CHOMOLANGA!!!!!!!) and Youshijin + couters as yomi and choosing counters. Hope you found it useful and keep in mind that english is NOT my native language so just bare with it ok?
  7. I dont know if anybody has posted this, but Kedako made a pretty sweet collection of bnb and posted them on his site: http://kedako.web.infoseek.co.jp/AC/movie/combo/combo.zip So if you want to take a look and _SEE_ some combos, check that out. (oh, and iMay = me during my ggemo-period. but I managed to get an alt im pretty good with)

    Slayer AC Combos

Didn´t Yonasu post those DOT -> pilebunker-loop combos like ages ago? In spite of that not even a thx anywhere to be seen... dålig stil.
  9. "Would you forfeit for 200yen?" "CAPTAIN! THE SHIP IS SINKING!!" "Mom!!! Where you a boy?" are the only ones i remember hearing from vids. but they are others.
  10. The dizzy-matchups according to famous japanese dizzy-player Kazuki (source: his blog) 4.5:5.5 -> MI ED CH FA BA JA VE SL BR IN AB OS 5.0:5.0 -> SO MA JO AX TE RO KY 5.5:4.5 -> PO AN ZA I didnt really know where to post it, but there ya go!
  11. Actually, it is Ouren. Trust me.
  12. The most notible change with the K-counter is that the frc is where the move has inv.frames instead of after = you can K-counter frc throw safer.
  13. Cool. As I´ve been saying the whole time, I havent had to much time for GG right now. And the fact that im trying hard with going stick is also a factor why I aint to active in the researching. But i´m on my way now anyways. I´ll try it out when I have the time (prolly tomorrow).
  14. Corner, jHS throwbait on dizzy -> jump, jHS Tatami, 6HS, superjump, jP(or,jS) jD dash jP(or,jS) jD, 5S jD frc dash tatami, jP jS jD dash jP jD CMV-style jump jHS tatami 6HS, superjump jS jD, dash jP(or,jS) jD frc tatami, kabari, tetsuzansen frc, jP(or,jS) jD dash jP jD -------- I played around with this setup while in Lund, and I dont have a TV that allows 60hz so thats why some of the stuff is iffy. But it is highdmg, especially if you eliminate jP's... And in reality, everything after the 5S jD is kinda overdoing it. But you guys can play around with it, its a dizzy-specific setup though.
  15. Zakuta... after pressure, combos without j.P deals better dmg to :V The Baikenforum would need some serious fixing though, but perhaps we should wait until some time has passed.
  16. In metsuke's defense, Baikens combos where way more interesting in / than AC. Her combo-capacity has gone down since the jD falldown. But i'm working hard on coming up with some nasty shit. jHS, tatami, 6HS is the shit. The thing about AC-baikencombos is as soon as you use jP the damage becomes *meh*, so if you have problem getting it to the 40% limit, try starting combos with 6K 5HS tatami and then an aircombo without jP and you will se some nice damage. Landing Baku-movementseal and then sealing an important button, (ex S for Jam) was great fun! I was at the swedish AC-releaseparty and it was really fun playing around with Baku. (custommade free jHS tatami-pressure anyone?).
  17. Meh...
  18. I knew you would like it Caer! I loved match #7 as well, Shônen finally played show-off Shônen-style!! :yaaay: Now just give me G35on5-vids and then let the SBO-prelimvids feed me!

And Ruu is as cool as ever!
  20. Well I don´t need pointers anymore but the baiken-slayer game is only scary at middle-range. So being far away or really close up isn´t the problem :P
  21. I dont think we've talked about the Slayer-matchup in /, I need a few pointers on this one. I usually win with relative ease but I still feel that I have no idea what I should do. All I know is like: 6K is good Superjump Airdash out of corner and so forth. But one of the rather annoying things is when he dashes through my attack after IB'ing a meaty-tatami or something of the similiar nature. Anyways, I need pointers. Go!

  24. cause if you time it right you cant be thrown, and it has mixup-properties... thats why he did it. (and I think we all should call him Bell, I kinda think thats what he is going for) and yeah, I know he said he got in arcadia, but ppl @ dustloop tend to talk alot of smack so I would like some raw piece of evidence.
  25. btw. Zakuta, how did you get hold of that information? I'm still kinda suspicious, and photots från the magazine or something?
