On the other hand, it makes it less effective at catching people mashing out than if your 5P would've hit them while they were crouching... -

If there are enough people that don't wanna play Xrd I'd be happy to play +R with em... -
Some prefer getting a heavier stick so it sits in their lap and they can be more aggressive with it (and some go as far as putting metal weights in their stick). Some people do get a solid stable surface like a bench, stool, chair, or even the floor. I'm guessing either the rest are very efficient with their motions (preventing the stick from moving hardly at all) or are very deliberate with keeping their stick still in one place to prevent weird angles. If you're noticing the position of the stick moving after a long session, you could try picking the stick up and putting it back on your lap after every fight, so the cumulative effect does not happen... I personally don't have any issues with it until I have to stand at an arcade cabinet, which really screws up my execution with that kind of angle. P.S. if your spring is making a release of 2 hit 8, you should probably get a new spring.

HCL > Derivative > AD > j.S > j.H > dive, from what they're saying -
I dunno about you but on my stick I just tap 9, release, then tap 6 for IADing... Moving back to 5 is handled by the spring rather than me. I would also like to throw out there that covered towards the beginning of the thread, since most sticks are put together with expensive parts, they'll last longer. Slagcoin brings up that moving your wrist and forearm is going to be more precise and accurate than pressing different items with your thumb.

I don't know what they have planned but I doubt that's staying, lol.

My first step for you would be to play entire matches without mashing all the buttons (try to have a purpose behind every button press), while occasionally referencing this site for more goals to improve upon. If you're having trouble with a certain character or player, try to figure out why (what angles are they approaching from, and what moves are they using?). Also, you may want to check out the guilty bits series for a basic few minute rundown of the characters.

I'd like to know where you are starting from exactly... What games do you play, can you do specials or super moves, or even full combos? Are you aware of what spacing, frame data, or a meaty attack is? I personally would give different starting points depending on where you are as a player. P.S. A stick isn't required for competitive play, though there are plenty of benefits. You'll definitely want to check out the thread in Beginner Mode on arcade sticks vs controllers, as well as the other threads if some of the terms I mentioned are pure gibberish to you. (And the wiki too, I suppose).

Hermes isn't strong. Cerberus is top tier.

Questions about using online play to learn a game
Delrian replied to crimsonstardust's topic in Beginner Mode
Blazblue does not give you the sufficient tools to measure how much the frame delay is (it actually can change midmatch too, if it notices a lag spike). Several netplay clients on PC require you to enter the input delay based on your ping, so I'm guessing reaVer's probably telling you to only play those who have seemingly zero delay between your button press and the start of your action... That said, I agree with you that playing online forces you to guess, and it leads to some situations that are only feasible where the opponent cannot react immediately. Rather than judging your skill level or practicing reactions online, regard netplay as a (slightly flawed) tool that may help you learn to read opponents so you can begin to predict their behaviors both online and offline. Make sure to supplement your online training with offline matches, training mode, match videos, and other research though. -

Mitsuru sounds like a good fit... as well as Yu.

Maybe the first, or second, or tenth time... but they get old quick.

Q&A about Joystick Building, Parts, and Purchasing

I would take the TE if it is a choice, but if you can't find a converter (or import a different PCB), you might not be able to use it. -
What's the worst fighting game you've played?
Delrian replied to Verimeloni's topic in Misc Fighter Central
It was just really mediocre between the character design and movesets, with really awful animations. Unfortunately that description describes a LOT of freeware fighting games. -

I can't remember the name of the game but it was some freeware PC fighting game. So bad I can't even remember the name. -
Rachel fits then. Izayoi might also qualify if you're up for discovering things on your own. She's considered a weak character by some, other say we haven't found the tech for her yet.

Yeah I'm not believing that until I see it on the xrd site, seems too ridiculous. -
I'd really have to see this to know what you're talking about, maybe you're trying to hit them while they are still invincible?

That sucks a ton dude. If you have the means to build your own case, maybe customs would allow you to import the necessary electronics to put it together yourself? -
