[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
stickystaines replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Does it look like the intro and close up shots are actually meant to be like that? Or could it be that the game is just slowing down and skipping frames because they haven't sorted it out yet? -

She looks pretty much the same except huge as fuck belt and trousers instead of black stockings. I can understand your feelings if you are upset over the black stockings; really i do, but i dont think thats enough to warrant an 'awful' -

It's time slow, not input delay. At least that's what i get out of it. Say if you walk forward during time slow, you still are moving on the frame that you hit 6, but you just move slower. With attacks, you're move starts as soon as you hit the button, but the frame duration of the move has been increased making it longer. I imagine that the 3D will make it so the slowed animation doesn't look choppy and crap. -

The reduced active frames might explain more of what i remember, rather than the range. If that's the case, can Tager easily 720 through bursts now? -

More than getting hit by bursts i've just seen people just not be affected by the Burst even though they are inches away from them. Was there any explanation to that? -

Why should that be the only reason 2 characters should face off? Hazama vs Ino makes sense. -

You're right, any solution other than buying a new console is out of our hands. That doesn't stop the situation from being shitty and people are angry about it. Just let people vent. One solution i am hoping for is that it gets released for PS4 as well (and not just gaikai shit either). There is more reason for me to invest in a PS4 than a PS3 at this point. Another thing to consider is that apart from having to buy a new console, they'll have to buy a new stick if they use one as well, just for one game. Or at least spending money to mod it to work on ps3. -

Whats Gaikai like in terms of lag though? If there is any sense of lag then its going to be unplayable. -

Don't see why its MS's fault in this case. Might just be the fact ArcSys felt no point in porting the game for Japan and that just merely carried over to the rest of the world. -

Sorry but can you stop dictating conversation just because you don't like it? Discussing whether old mechanics will be in the new game is the most relevant discussion this topic could ever have. If some unanimous conclusion was expected then people wouldn't talk about anything. If they were to remove anything due to bloat it would definitely be SB. I think that whether SB is a useful/useless or good/bad mechanic wouldn't matter that much, but removing it wouldn't really change the feeling of what it is to be a Guilty Gear game. Each mechanic has a different impact on the game; gatlings, RC, FRC, SB, FB etc. I don't think anyone could imagine the game being Guilty Gear without gatling's and FRC's, but i think people could do away with SB's without too much effort, despite their usefulness in certain situations. Force break's have become quite substantial to the average play in GG, but i still think there is a possibility for them to remove it or heavily change it. I actually think impossible dusts have a better chance of staying in than SB. Ha. Probably not if the dust cinematic stays the way it is. -

Has anyone figured out the lyrics yet? All i can get is some of the obvious stuff From 2nd verse: "Freak. ????. Shroud(?) like sulfur in the air" "So let it be, oh let it be ????" (not sure about this one) "Seems time's knockin' on the doors" "No response but hey you're already BACK TO BACK" "DEATH COMES A'RIDIN ON A MIDNIGHT TRAIN; BACK TO BACK" *dunno* "BLAZIN' DOWN; What a Heavy Day" -

Yeah that's a given. But that's where the problem is. A cinematic slows the whole thing down a bit + might mess up some stuff with RC's. Well thats just the concerns i've picked up from others here; i'm reserving judgement myself. -

This reasoning doesn't exactly work. I thought the same at first, but the cinematics for the supers actually have the stage background in them, which makes me believe they'll actually be apart of the gameplay. -

I think it would be super boring if they just brought back the old IK's. Give 'em new ones. It's a new game. -

While they obviously should keep the gameplay 2D, i want them to completely exploit the 3D for IK's. Has the potential to look really awesome. -

I forgot how EX netcode works but its possible it could affect it. The way i understand it is that since it is all peer 2 peer, the 2 people playing the match need to upload their input data to every other person, which could induce lag if someones upload rate is not up to scratch. The amount of data sent is quite small though. But that is why when you see that message in marvel when you're a spectator that if you leave then nobody else can watch the rest of the match, because the players playing are uploading the data to you and then you are forwarding that data to everybody else in the lobby, so the players have much less data to transfer and the amount of data is more predictable since you are only uploading to your opponent and one other person. -

If wonder if thats actually guard point or the burst just whiffing. Bursts whiff a lot for no reason in BBCP it seems.
