I swear i hate the .5 stuff in matchup charts. Even a 5/5 matchup wont be perfectly balanced considering all factors. Just make a damn decision already whether it's 5 or 6. It makes even less sense when the matchup is further unbalanced. What's the difference between 7 and 7.5?

I made some progress with writing up Gordeau's combos. http://www.kusogekings.com/forum/m/19535873/viewthread/12502987-gordeau-combos I said in the thread, but it's mostly a reference to myself so i have links to the combos when i want to go back to them. Although by writing the transcripts of combos i'm pretty familiar with his combo routes now; they're pretty simple. I added Destrade's evernote link so if anyone forgets it they can go back there and find it. I would appreciate if any aspiring Gordeau players help finding links for his combos that seem decent. At the moment i'm not trying to build a comprehensive list of all combos that he can do, but just have some video evidence of practical combos off most starters. -

The most common problem for pad users i find (on default controls) is awkward multiple button presses. UNIB still has multiple button presses for throw, FF, veil off and IW EXS. Throw is A+D which is easy to press without macro if using blazblue-like layout and same with FF since it's B+C. Only weird ones would be veil off and IW EXS, which would probably need macros for consistency. As long as the game supports macros then it should be fine. -

Is Gordeau's 2C a 2-hitting move? Or does he use another move before it in combos? -
Try and break down the problem even further. Identify the main problem and correct it. The biggest problem i had when switching to stick was that i couldn't hit up-right consistently; i would constantly get neutral jumps, which meant my IAD's to the right were terrible. Is that your problem? Or is it between the transition between 9 and 6? If so, just try to do a slow IAD and bring up the speed the more consistent you get. You get about a half a second leniancy to input the 6 after the 9.

To be honest i dont see assault used at all for throw mixup; just neutral mostly since it keeps you low to the ground and you still keep pressure if they just keep bloocking. Wouldn't assault go over their heads if they keep crouch blocking? Some of the supers in this game look so satisfying EDIT: actually it might be just they are using assault and it looks like a neutral jump. i'm unsure now. -

For that combo, do you mean start with 5H gunflame (react to hitconfirm) RC continue? I haven't seen that, but if you can, that's crazy. Is there a japanese term then for damage off stray hits? I think it's an important concept that should have a well defined meaning. -

I've seen abare used in the sense of damage off random hits. Might just be a western thing though. Heard it for both the random damage and attacking at disadvantage, though only the former within 2d games and the latter within 3d. -

The thing that people don't seem to talk about with RC's is what options the bullet time gives you now. You have a ridiculous amount of hitstun now on because moves into RC to the point where you can RC run up and still combo. Stuff like Sol 5S 5HS RC bandit bringer allows him to get damage, corner carry and/or oki. Slayer can hitconfirm pilebunker into RC in the corner and still combo and the bullet time still allows him to go straight into dandy step and do whatever. These increase options negate the need for an on-hit FRC for me somewhat. In a way i think it would detract from the game, since if a character has good uses for an on-hit FRC, then players might only save meter for FRC situations and possibly reducing the creative ways it's being used now. -

After actually looking out for it in more matches, i see that people still do just dash neutral jump. Especially with characters that have nice downward arcs on their jump attacks, like Yuzu's jump kick. -

Out of Gordeau, Merkava, Yuzu, Linne, Hyde and Vatista, what characters can punish throws really nice with hop like moves? Thinking like Jin 6B stuff which gives you a move to dash up to bait for a throw and then gives you some way to avoid the throw (usually by being off that ground). I believe Yuzu has a hop like move that will hop behind them and does a ball like slash, dunno if its good for throw baiting though. And i hink Vatista's spin move leaves her off the ground but im not sure. Any others (or corrections)? -

I must say i pretty uch ignored this game when it released, even after the update. But now that the announcement happened and the hope that arcsys might deliver a good online to this game, i went back to look at some recent matches and it looks so fresh again. I dunno if the update has anything to do with it, but probably because it's just been so long. Wanna play some gordeau or yuzu -
Do we know any combos he can get off dash cancel from throw now? Can he do j.2C air hit combos from forward throw now?

BSing obvious oki would have been the first thing i tried. If it was that effective surely the better players should be on that by now? I mostly see BS during stuff like sol blockstring into bandit bringer or sloppy jump ins. I haven't really seen it that often to be honest. -
