  1. Well, doesn't BSing a ground move just knock them back? I thought it was only the air moves that really set you up for a combo. If that is true then it just means you can't predictably jump/iad in with an attack which is generally the case anyway.
  2. Makoto would just tack on an extra 1500-3k to every combo and get a basic projectile oki that covered 1-2 mixups instead of 3-4. I'd say it's a trade off.
  3. Interesting that the last boss is now char dependent. Kind of funny to see Slayer back to OTK status, even if CH It's Late is at least much harder to get than bite.
  4. Eh, it's not like Valk/Tao/Haz/Rachel are not complex. In fact, I think movement based drives tend to be more difficult to use well than many other things. Personally, I'd rather just get rid of the ability for many characters to just be braindead with their pressure. Probably through adjusting move properties or stance changes. Along with gauges actually mattering for the characters that have them since all the top tier characters with gauges can simply ignore their existence for the most part outside of Relius. Braindead pressure always seems to be what most people complain about regarding top tier characters from what I have noticed. Make everyone think about the buttons they press and the game will be a lot better imo. EDIT: Top tier Makoto or Ragna is them mashing buttons in your face until they happen to touch you and then taking 40-50%+ into oki. Mak was just as bad as Bang or Litchi to fight except her meter use was ridiculously better and she had to get closer.

  6. Guys, Kurushii isn't talking about maintaining some sole exclusivity on the footage. He just doesn't want HIS particular copy of the video distributed without consent. Just do your own work on cutting the footage from Bururaji lol.
  7. Man, the footage from Dengeki or whatever had a 14th character slot but they never put the cursor on it to see if it was random select or another full character. EDIT: New music sounds pretty nice, especially the title and char select music. Very Hard Corp style. Too bad that screaming lady covered up the possible assassins theme.
  8. I don't know, the untested characters are consistently either really bad or ridiculous with platinum being the only real exception.
  9. I'd like to see 5c and 6c be faster overall. Would make them slightly less risky but also would make hit confirming off AA 5c so much easier. Other than that, probably just have his supers not overheat his drill gauge and I'd be pretty happy. Would be nice to have a better 2a to mash out of pressure with but meh. He doesn't really need many overheads since it isn't how his pressure game works.
  10. Seems like Valentine would be the last boss since that clip of her with happy balloons looks an awful lot like the character intros. Plus it fulfills ArcSys Female Final Boss quota. That Bururaji clip was really cool with playing around with all the 3D angles in game, May's IK, and what looks to be cutscenes that are probably for arcade mode.
  11. More like when IAD crossup DP is the only legit mixup option you know his options are fucked lol. Interesting changes, though no Amane news yet has me sad. Wonder if the new super for Koko means they changed Black Hole. I'd also like to see them change her gauges so that they mean something, but we'll see what the final version is like.
  12. It's kind of like basically 0 top players playing Amane. You've got Shima and Jirou afaik but neither of them are huge names. NO was something like 16dan back when he was playing Bullet as an alt iirc, and 0 seems to be performing quite well currently.
  13. Ok, I really enjoyed that trailer. Nice to see official word of Overture story involvement as well. Also, DAT VALENTINE. Hints of the hydra character from the pachinko game too. Very nice stuff overall.
  14. Doesn't really matter much to the argument till it hits console versions. Regardless of what they do to Koko for the arcade update, we'll still be playing CP1 at tournaments. Otherwise we just see how the update shakes out and have the discussion all over again.
  15. If casuals mattered so much we'd ban the top 10 characters along with Tager and Noel lol. S tier in general beats the shit out of everybody after Relius. If we are banning because of a few 7-3s then a lot more characters than Koko are going to get hit.
  16. This is a ~7 character game regardless of a Kokonoe ban. It doesn't really change the list of tournament winning characters by more than 1.
  17. But at least we'll feel better when top tier X wins a tournament instead of top tier Y!
  18. It's been a while, but were Makoto/Valk/Plat added into CS1 arcades prior to the CS2 rebalance? As far as the ban goes, meh. Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. The same players are likely to keep winning whether they do it with Koko, Valk, Ragna, or whoever. I don't think I saw a single Koko win a tourney that wasn't already in competition for the top spot without her.
  19. Ya, a lot of the non-C starter stuff I would still probably go with old versions for and take the 100ish damage lost to get ground tech state in a match.
  20. I have no idea how madteaparty is so godlike when I never hear anything from him ever lol. His old Valk video was great too. This vid definitely makes me want to get my copy back and lab it up.
  21. Ugh. That is such a low character count coming off +R. I'm glad it'll be out in the wild but I'm sad that it'll be till Xrd#R that I see a character to really get hype about. Also wonder if they've balanced Bedman since he sounded ridiculous in that loke test.
  22. The thing that pulsespot misses is that we should technically already have a 5ish character game even with Koko banned. But skilled players playing lesser characters can beat less skilled players playing better characters. But that can also be said for fighting kokonoe.

If you ban her you also then have to figure out how strong is too strong and judge the current top tier on that scale since I'm sure characters like Litchi and Tao have multiple 7-3 matchups also. Even before Koko, the top 5 or 6 characters were consistently the ones winning outside of maybe Tahichi with Azrael. You could say it is because of the players but then you'd have to say the same about Koko since it is basically Tsujikawa and maybe Matoi actually having tourney results it seems.
  24. She's definitely not better than things like CT Rachel/Arakune or CS1 DLC. Probably not even better than CS1 Litchi. Also still have to be a good player to beat other good players with her. It's still Tsujikawa and Matoi regardless of whether they are playing Koko or Tao. Ya, much of the cast probably goes 3-7 with her, but I disagree that that eliminates them from tournies. Especially in America where the play level is significantly lower. (Though I guess that runs both ways.)
  25. Not sure why you'd waste OD on a 2a confirm. Especially at 100% when you won't get lvl3 off it. I'd rather just go into some 6d/hariken setup off 2a.
