  1. She looks like she's an elementary schooler now. Also not fond of the random visor and massive belt. Don't like how they changed the apron+skirt thingy to a backless variety that looks much more awkward with the clear cuts either. I actually like the pants. It's nothing that will make me stop playing her if she is fun, but I definitely prefer the old design.
  2. Ugh, May looks awful. Hopefully she looks better in game. I am very interested in her new gameplay though. Ball jump and being able to ride dolphins off the hoops sounds fun as fuck. Pot's design is bleh too imo but whatever. Hopefully if they put anji/buri/sin/valentine in they don't mess the designs up too bad.
  3. I think it fits rather well honestly. Though I think CS1 might still be my fave astral music.
  4. An article by a 3s/ST fan who hates airdashers and modern Capcom games makes an article blindly hating all comeback mechanics while linking a video in his post of Daigo coming back thanks to the super meter. Whole article is rofl and says nothing about Overdrive specifically. Guy needs to just go back to playing 3s instead of writing articles about stuff he has no clue about.
  5. Well, at least it won't have the 'first game in ASW series' curse lol. It would be nice if supers gained a minimum damage rating though. That really helped supers maintain usefulness in BB.
  6. Just for clarification, the reason I feel it would be a simplification of FRCs is because there are a ton (if not most) of FRCs that could have a larger window and still have the same general effect. So if the newbie could be a bit sloppy and still get a minor combo off, say, Robo 5h or chemical love I think that is good. I'm sure there would still be points that are better for optimization of mixups or combos as well. But again, this could just be something for projectiles and they could be removing non-projectile FRCs completely which would make me a good bit sad.
  7. Depends on if it it slows blocking or not I suppose. We'll just have to see. I am really excited about being able to RC 'anything' for 50% if that is how it ends up being. That would be an amazing way to simplify FRCs and keep everything at 50% meter while bringing in even more freedom. New dust followup could be cool too. I'm just going to assume it acts like AoA now without the mashing for FC. Not sure if I like the clashing system but meh. No more clash combo vids though! =(
  8. 1:GG has always been considered an anime game by the FGC at large outside of maybe when the only people who knew about it were GCC posters. The only difference is that it was a ton of anime cliches from the 90s instead of more recent cliches. GG is a world of Belts, Bishounen, and traps just as much as it is a world of Rock, Tits, and Badassery. Between Metal or Anime advertisement, guess which one is likely to draw more new people to the game in Japan. (ASW never has, and likely never will, given a shit about the non-jp market.) I'm not really sure how they could advertise it as more metal considering half of everything is already named after rock and roll and the trailer was basically a possibilities demo with rock music over it. 2: Recently this has gotten much better with the CC and Guilty Bits stuff. Also more exposure on SRK front page is nice for getting cross game interest. As somebody else has said, the advertisement of it in Japan is likely much better since that is ASW's main market. Also, the 'launch trailer' was just a hype thing for it anyway and it is very likely that the game is very early in development. Once it is closer to release I'm sure we'll get just as much coverage as we have gotten of BBCP as well as loctests and such. 3: ASW is probably one of the best 2d fighter netcodes out since BBCT aside from the AC+ port so not sure what you are going for here. Though, given how much the BB team seems to be focusing on improving the online experience overall, I wouldn't worry too much about this.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/user/arcrevomoviechannel/videos Just got updated with a bunch of P4 matches from the arcrevo tourney blocks.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/user/arcrevomoviechannel/videos Just got updated with a bunch of GG matches from arcrevo blocks.
  11. https://www.youtube.com/user/arcrevomoviechannel/videos Lots of new arcrevo matches up. If somebody wants to pull out all the BB matches from the list go for it.
  12. The SF/Marvel scenes are only so big atm because you had 3 different communities pour into them. Previously, you had 3 rather split SF communities (mvc2, cvs2, and 3s). All 3 communities went majorly in to SF4 when it came out. That instantly gave it a huge player base. BB however did not pick up many GG veterans in a serious way. It basically had to build its community from scratch, especially after CT had been out for a bit. So now every time somebody wants to play a game with a large community they look right to umvc3 and sf4 because they had it built in as soon as they came out. Marvel in particular also offers teams with very low skill floors and a community that is, by and large, extremely lazy about practicing. This means it is the perfect game to just pick up and start playing semi-competitively at a local with you X/doom/vergil team. You'll find that, most of the time, people want to play fighting games with other people. SF has always offered the bigger community and this has only gone up exponentially since SF4 came out. Every anime game, while not 'dead', is certainly small time comparitively. The other part is that airdashers outside of marvel have generally earned the rep of 'anime shit for weeaboos' in NA. This leads to tons of false accusations like low damage or no neutral game as well as just a natural tendency to turn away from them. Lastly, I think commentators in many places tend to emphasize negatives of a game too much often times.
  13. Hmm, fair enough. The problem may be then that if they crouch to anticipate your landing since you would be unable to chain into j.a at that point, they get a full punish on a whiffed j.6d or something. Will probably be hilarious on Tager though, unless they are mashing spin super.
  14. Since I don't think I've ever seen it, there is probably something fundamental that cause it to not work. Perhaps it comes out to slow to be used at a height that allows it to hit after j.b or something like that.
  15. Looks like they are starting to put up the ArcRevo matches. https://www.youtube.com/user/arcrevomoviechannel/videos 3 rounds of A block for BB so far.
  16. NO v LK round 2 of evo p4. Probably won't even get recorded! =(
  17. It'll definitely get patched out. Just not likely until either they find other stuff to patch or, at latest, when they add Terumi and Kagura to arcades with the console release.
  18. As you block a bar fills. As you get hit it lowers. If it gets past a certain point all moves that hit (up to 4 if bar is max) are treated as CH. Your combo also experiences 0 damage scaling until the guard bar gets back to 50% (its default value and what it gravitates towards during neutral). The unscaled damage might actually be only during the flashing bar like the CH part is though. Regardless it is a very clever way to punish overly defensive play harshly while not penalizing good defense since they still need to open you up to benefit from it.
  19. Only bad thing is that there were like 3 completely garbage characters iirc. Didn't get to play it much so nothing to say about the gameplay outside of I wish I had gotten to play Slash Anji lol.
  20. Still, would mean Terumi is essentially day one dlc which doesn't sit well with me even if he is available as a pre-order bonus.
  21. If you want more advanced stuff to work on: 2s>3s kara>5s>5h>236h hit confirm 5p>5p>solo JI>generic momentum super double jump air combo meterless corner starter>236h>S>5p>5p>sj combo into hard kd (I'll work on getting the vid I have off my laptop that has a compilation of these.)
  22. Man, has been too long since I played Litchi lol. Must have done the followup then.
  23. J.B hits multiple times and iirc Itsuu only eats one hit.
  24. His normals and blockstrings might not be as 'safe' as Hazama's stuff though. He might also build meter like ass so that his drive is needed for him to get to 50 heat semi-quickly.
  25. That announcement makes me wonder if that was the 'new fighter' for PS4 they were talking about or if it will be a completely different IP like I originally thought it would be.
