  1. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU and I was just figuring out how to 83Dj.A. Hopefully new j.B works like that. I think I saw the guy in the video trying to do that.
  2. STUPID STUPID DUMB what else am I going to use those rods for?! Pumpkin range looks so short Air Iris looks gooooooooood The angle of j.B looks different. Maybe it's just me.
  3. Hey John! How'd that programming deal go?

  4. Oh hey Skelator! Sorry about that first match, my button config was messed up. That first round I couldn't figure out why C wasn't coming out, so I was just jumping around pushing a button that didn't work. Let's play again.

  5. I agree that things aren't ok the way they are. I haven't reached the level of competency that you have, so I kind of have to take your word for it. But I can't help but think that there's got to be a better way. Rachel as she is now is extremely complicated and almost every move of hers has a very important use. Removing or changing her tools in most cases not only makes her worse, but totally changes the way she plays. Because of the complexity of the combination of the game physics and the wind, Rachel also seems to escape the "shoehorning" problem that other characters seem to have. All the other characters seem to have been "played out" already, while I'm completely certain that there are things we haven't discovered with Rachel. It would seem to me that Rachel is kind of at a perfect or near perfect level here that Arcsys should be aiming at for other characters instead of chopping such a beutifully designed character into little bits in order to bring her down to their level. How about just removing one of her wind bars? I think that kind of serves the purpose quite nicely. Rachel needs wind to rush and the common complaint is basically that she rushes for too long.
  6. Realistically, and I'm just talking here, assuming that there will never be perfect balance in a fighter and assuming balance is attempted, I think the more difficult characters should be the better ones. Really. Not that there isn't a line; there definitely is regardless of how hard something is to do, but if we're going to have characters that are better than others I think they should be the difficult ones.
  7. I'd trade j.2C cancel on block for j.2C -> j.C working on crouchers on hit :D
  8. I hope to god you're right.
  9. Confirmed j.2C is completely uncancelable on block. No attack, no jump, no landing cancel. You use j.2c you die.
  10. Jesus christ will the bad news stop already I mean seriously it just keeps coming: More lag on B/C lobelia. Just break her legs and put her in a wheelchair already.
  11. My princess what have they done to youuuuuuuuuu~
  12. Ok, so when do you want to do this? I am free until 6PM PST today, and then maybe around 10-11PM PST.

  13. Again, I kind of disagree even with that. Nu can pressure from all over the damn screen. So can Rachel, but Rachel only has instant pressure if she has wind, has a pumpkin out, and it's placed right. Nu has instant pressure practically everywhere, and it all leads to BIG DAMAGE.
  14. I guess what I'm so surprised about is this: What does Rachel do that Nu doesn't do better?
  15. On a comparative basis, some of these things just don't make sense. Nu vs Noel and Rachel vs Noel BOTH 55? Rachel vs Bang = 60 while Nu vs Bang = 55? Nu vs Hakumen only 5 points higher than Rachel vs Hakumen? Nu vs Tager = Rachel vs Tager?! Nu vs Jin = Rachel vs Jin?!?! Wat? Also, Carl vs Rachel seems more like 35:65 or better because of Nirvana. As long as Carl has Nirvana, it's very hard for Rachel to close the gap because Nirvana's hitbox is right in the way of her wind+dash arc, and if Rachel is forced to attack Nirvana instead then Rachel immediately has to stop pressure and being on defense is VERY bad for Rachel. This is also why I think some of the Nu vs Rachel complaints are valid, as Nu has an easier time getting out of potential pressure through act pulsar, reversal super, throw that actually leads to damage anywhere, and godC moves.
  16. Nu vs Ara is 65:35? Feels AT LEAST 75:25. And alot of Nu's scores seem 5 points lower than they should be. Pretty looking chart.
  17. You can, but the window is REALLY small and it's harder to followup because you're pushed farther.
  18. As long as you don't cross yourself up I guess it's doable. Get good at IBing her multi-hit moves (super, 5C, 6C, 2C, 3C). They build meter FAST. IIRC 5C mash -> 6C gives ~40% heat (!).
  19. Yeah I've noticed that momentum is extremely important in this match for both characters, but Rachel in particular. The match either goes totally one way or the other. Either Rachel gets on Jin IMMEDIATELY and crushes him, or Jin gets Rachel cornered and Rachel is forced to block the whole match eating little bnbs until she dies. Remember, the neutral position is NOT in Rachel's favor AT ALL. Even with a pumpkin out Jin is so damn fast it's no good unless the pumpkin is RIGHT next to him or DIRECTLY in his path. Be careful about using your wind, but don't wait too long or you won't even get the chance. This is a match where Counter Assault is particularly useful, and the situation to use it (stuck in blockstring with no life + 100% heat) comes up ALL the time. Do it. On a side note, 6A is trading with Jin's j.B today.
  20. Actually, I think Cat chair is faster as a reaction type move because it's not very important when the active frames start, what's important is when the guard point frames start. If the guard point gets hit and the opponent is doing anything other than maybe j.A, they're going to eat it pretty much guaranteed. Cat chair is faster in that respect (5f startup vs 7f startup) and also has a much longer guard point duration over the whole character instead of just the upper half. Meaning it's better on reaction to Jin's jump-ins which are more likely to trade with 6A. (Jin j.b range = ARRRRRRRGHHHHH)
  21. This match is driving me absolutely nuts. It's the aggressive, smart Jin players that I'm having serious trouble with. Almost every opening I get I had to guess right even before he did the move, and that includes from across the screen! For example, 6A beats his j.B, but in order to actually hit it you have to psychic him before he air dashes. I swear I'm liking B, C, and D icecar more and more because it actually guarantees I'll land something! Also having problems getting stuck in the corner with Jin spamming DP until I do something, and when I try to punish one, the next one comes out and then I get counter hit. Lockdown is TIGHT in the corner, no room for much of anything really. I've resorted to trying out Cat Chair lately, as it is just about the only thing I haven't tried. Doesn't even come out fast enough to block the attacks, even when there's obviously room to stop blocking. Cat chair works ok as an anti-air because it's faster than 6A, but hell if I know what to do after it lands. Pumpkin maybe?
  22. Why is the Tao match in Rachel's favor? It seems like Rachel is way too slow to reliably catch Tao with much of anything really. Basically for me this match turns into "lock her down before she can lock me down". But in order to do that, I have to predict her a few seconds in advance because she's so damn all over the place.
  23. 6A also kills Arakune's cloud.
  24. Ok, I've been saying this for over a year now, but every time I play against Noel I see it happen again and again and AGAIN. Some parts of Noel's Chain Revolver have invincibility! If you IB a hit and then ID her, there's a chance you'll go STRAIGHT THROUGH HER and then proceed to die. VS Ragna isn't the only time I've seen it. I've also seen some of Rachel's moves go straight through her stupid green-glowing ass as well. Does anyone know WHICH drive moves have invulnerability and at what points?
  25. I'd say mid. He's pretty much a normal character with no special abilities or tricks up his sleeve, the exchange being he is easy to pick up.
