  1. Look I want to be optimistic about Tsubaki and all, but really, remember what happened to Rachel? 1st loketest was like zomg no way they'll keep this. And then she got worse. And worse. And worse. And then the loketests ended. And we were still like HAH no way any of that stuff will stay it's too crazy bad. ASW is just dicking around, right? ... right? And then BAM CS RACHEL.

  3. Back on topic, I want to know why they're messing with Carl. Imo Carl was just about perfect in terms of balance.
  4. I've thought about this for a long time, and while I agree in concept, I disagree in practice. Think about it. We have two series here (GG/BB) that are so diverse that there is practically no hope of ever making things completely even. We can get close, but things will most likely never even out completely. Now, assuming we get close, which characters would you rather be on the top end? The easy ones or the difficult ones? If we have to have a top and a bottom, I think it only makes sense to have the difficult ones at the top and the easy ones at the bottom. It encourages diverse play. Beginners could jump on low and still be effective (assuming the game is reasonably balanced), and advanced players would get an edge for working extra hard. If things were the other way, you would only have an incentive for both beginners and veterans to play ez modo. There would be little to no incentive to play the other characters, tier-wise.

  6. Tempest Dalia? Good riddance. Hopefully they'll give her something actually cool like a lobelia that costs 50% and sticks a horizontal rod on the wall.
  7. I've recorded button and stick clacks to help teach new players combo timing and I think it really works.

  10. Hopefully there is a US release. I loved this game on PS2 but the loading was SO BAD GOD.
  11. I hope there are some updates in the future. This game is too good to go unloved for so long.
  12. Luna is way cool, but I'm having trouble actually forcing opponents to get hit. For the most part all they have to do is block and they'll get in eventually. I can anti air with 5B and 5C, but that's risky business when Lilith can shield and then get a free throw. I can anticipate a shield and punish with 236B speed shooting, but that is balls hard. Alternatively I can just anticipate the shield and sweep her instead too I guess, but that doesn't give nearly as much damage as a 236B speed shooting combo. Any other recommendations here? Also, what to do about Lilith's B+C red dash thing.

  14. So I just got into this game with a friend a few weeks ago, and I'm having major problems beating his Lilith as Luna. Wat 2 do yo?
  15. It sounds like you entered a crumple state but recovered before you were considered downed.
  16. 6B's proration boggles my mind. It's not like you can do anything after it hits anyway.
  17. Jumps are already balls slow in this game. Hitting people out of spamming jump+FD isn't very hard as long as they aren't Arakune. If you want to point fingers though, blame the hour long startup on every damn move in the game.

  19. Except that Rachel can't even zone Carl in CS. Lobelias bounce off of Nirvana for free, so lobelias are effectively worthless in this match. Which rules out Rachel's best option in CS. Yeah. Go figure. Carl has to be braindead to lose here.
  20. The combo is really really tight as it is and I'm just looking for ways to connect BBL without removing hits from the combo. Besides right now BBL is better as a tool to guarantee knockdown considering how pitiful the damage is. ... In fact I wouldn't be surprised if sword iris -> BBL did MORE damage than BBL + 1 pole. The more I play Rachel the more that I too am convinced she stands the best chance aiming for a time out. Block well, throw projectiles and guess right every time, and stall stall stall as much as you can. Rushing in is usually a very, very bad idea if you don't have poles, pumpkin AND frog to back you up. Rachel's further reduced movement makes it very hard to get out of even simple situations, so the best thing to do is just not get in range unless you're guaranteed a way out with your tools.

  22. I think if I have a little more time to mess with Rachel I can make 5B CDC 236B IAD j.B j.C *land* 6A BBL work. Timing's gonna be tight though and might require wind. 5B CDC 236B IAD j.B j.C *land* j.C j.C 236A works for ok damage.

  25. No matter how bad the Tao match is, I'm fairly certain the Carl matchup will beat it. Rachel's best approach is winded george? I've played this match, it's hilariously bad. There is no point in using projectiles at all in this match. Considering that zoning is really all she has left, I can see this match being incredibly lopsided.
