  1. Well, this guy was pulling 30+ red beat combos on the room on a regular basis, he'd get me in the corner, wind every time I even thought about teching, and then just randomize the lobelias and 6Bs, which made it pretty hard to IB anything, and if he wasn't using slipheed to push himself towards me again from block pushback, he'd reset the gap in frames with a (by then) triple-rod Sword Iris so I'd still be block stunned while going back into the lobelias and 6Bs. Didn't even try to combo with it should I get countered trying to break through with a 5A or 5B or 4D either. T'was even more frustrating that he was just out of reach for the unmag 360A..
  2. Okay, so what is the best course of action against corner pressure? Been (and still am) fighting a Rachel right now who I can get down to like orange, but at some point I just get stuck in the corner and she spams fork and A-lobelia thingie. And I can't counter or sledge through it. Can't even properly time a gold burst either.
  3. Just wondering, has anyone made an example of the BnB Astral combo? Y'know, mag xx > AC > xx > 41236D > 1080D? Sure, it's insanely situational, but if you got 100 heat when you start any AC combo and your portrait is flashing with an (amost) full voltic meter, why chance it at not getting the win?
  4. Yeah, once I saw the grab spam, I just stood there so I could get the achievement. :P On another point, in the Bang fight, I just kept hearing a crowd cheer every time I got a 720 off. Not to mention, after the second one, some random voice in my head yelling "GOOD SHIT, MIKE!!!" even though my name's John. >_> Probably a result because as soon as I got the second grab off, I looked over to the stream's chat to see TIDAL WAVES of wtfs and lols and all that crap.
  5. Whoo! I got in a streamed broadcast (being watched by over 200 people at the time), and got to play! I even finished the room by Astral Heat in the final match before the room was disbanded! And getting the M.C. Hammer achievement as well! :3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nhD4Dbig6I That one Bang was level 52, with a 200+ PSR, too. Kinda surprised I won there. >_> Also, I do have the fight between AXIS and me where I got the You Broke My Heart! achievement. I'll upload that....at some point for those wanting to watch Tager Mirror.
  6. I'm sorry, but if that happened to me, I'd just cry and go home right there. <_< On another note, more practice has finally netted me getting past U.Hazama in Score Attack, and now I have U.Tager. <3
  7. Again, thanks for all of your help guys. I ~think~ I'm getting even better... Starting to beat those people that are level 40+...and then getting rage kicked after. Still a taaaaad clunky on performing AC with the stick as opposed to the notched D-pad, but... Eh, it'll come. Or I'll get faster at stick-to-pad switches or whatever. Actually, today, I got ragekicked 31 times for beating people pretty badly. <_<
  8. Okay, so, I've been spending time in practice mode, managed to reach Mission 6 of Tager's challenges, and even bought the DLC colors to boost my morale. In some way... I HAVE to have improved in some way... I can't just have been wasting my time so far. Haku-Men vs Tager Tager vs Ragna More criticisms, please? And I do mean criticism. Not telling me what a dumbass I am and how much I need to practice more.
  9. Yeah, like I said... muscle memory hasn't really set in yet, as it just keeps dropping to a 6C instead. I'm still trying to get the hang of it with a thumb. (Could really use a stick but they don't sell any locally yet...) That's one of the problems I can see about myself. I see lots of tourney Tagers using B-Sledge so effectively...but it seems that whenever I use it, the little auto-block doesn't like to actually acknowledge that I'm doing it. Or it's lag or somehow the opponent is just BSing their attack's way through it for a counter hit. Mostly why I'm hesitant about trying to close the distance with it. Aye...though, if anything, my focus in that Arakune fight was me trying to keep him from back-dashing away to spam projectiles. This post was actually the most helpful here...probably the lack of hostility despite the fact that said hostility is basically Banging the Nail (lol) that I already set. I know I suck, otherwise I wouldn't be asking. Thank you.
  10. ...Eheh....those are actually failed Spark>ACs... o_o;
  11. Ok, so...I spent an hour or so in Practice mode, after trying Challenge mode a bit more...(still can't start that j.C whiff to j.2C)...and got a bit antsy and tried to play some real matches to see how the whole defensive approach took. Managed to get 6 matches (one replay I forgot to save, and another I accidentally overwrote another Lamda replay) in, and the next 8 rooms I got kicked before I could even play for some reason. Ah well. Jin vs Tager Ragna vs Tager Tager vs Arakune Tager vs Λ-11 ...Am I getting the hang of it?
  12. Here's some newbie Tao videos! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgo0ImItAbE Makoto vs Tao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHgtec3SFtg Bang vs Tao Yeah, I suck and need advice ~badly~ >_>
  13. Well, in the 5th video, I was trying to 2d past the doll...but the damn thing kept starting its movements and reducing my distance. In 4, I had been watching the guy play and he hadn't actually done a single parry loop in any of those games, so...I don't think he knew how to do that, really. One of the things I had read on...somewhere, I forget, was that on magnetized opponents, j.D is great for pulling them in, as well as being an anti-air move. And that if you use it at the apex of your jump instead of when you're still rising, that you'll get the magnetized pull without actually pulling it off, which works into a 2D which is enough to pull a character full-screen. As for the challenge stuff...well...I'm kinda stuck on 5, really (The midair stuff just kills me, really). Barely managed to get past 4... Though, I do believe that the Hazama video was the most skilled person I had played against that day. Ragna and Carl were, well, just video-fodder really. Besides, I'm still trying to figure out where Quick Wake-ups apply in real fights anyways. EDIT: Though, what in those videos did I do right? Just so I can look back and figure out which is my instincts I should not try to ignore.
  14. ...Well...here's some videos of a newbie player (only started a week before CS came out, heh) with Tager. Can I ever be as great as Mike Z...? :o Taokaka vs Tager Tager vs Ragna Tager vs Hazama Tager vs Makoto Carl vs Tager <- almost not worth posting Tager vs Rachel ...Maybe I could get some pointers from the pros here. <_<
  15. It's a good way to rape someone who's lacking a BB. If you can get them into a corner, low-tap and then 6B, then you just 236B over and over again. On a Ragna, this can take over 50% of their health bar due to the canceling resetting the combo yet leaving them unable to block or tech out of it and causing Tao to restart CS2, thus lifting her up each time. Though, you do have to time it right on the smaller characters due to being able to actually fly up over them and get yourself stuck in that corner.
