Blargh Shujinko DDDX I have work on Sat. and I don't get off until like...7-8 XPP Solar won't go if I don't go *facedesk* Maybe next time if I don't have work...or a long shift XPP

I just threw out the idea, I think Shunjinko has a better idea on all the casuals, locations, times, etc, if he were willing to maintain the page. I'm on another BB site, Destructive Nature, and I put out the question, and I got an answer ^^;; so credit goes to Gio for this one....whatever helps, helps. I think since mostly everyone has a FB these days, we could pass the word along easier and seek out the other players than relying on them to join DL and finding this thread.

Well, if we really want to gather a community, maybe we should try and find people who are interested in it outside the DL thread? I don't know how many of you have Facebook, but perhaps if there was a page for 808 BB players, maybe we'll be able to find more people who are interested in BB casuals? ...just putting out the idea..I do have some friends who like BB who might be interested, but they'll never join/talk on a site such as DL.

That sucks..and I kinda figured, since a good majority of the cabinets there are old.... Oh well...Solar and I can try to come down to BBCS casuals...just we have a curfew and limited options of transportation...but I mean we're all good for getting our butts kicked...right Solar? =D

I remember briefly seeing a poster on a token machine for a Brawl tournament held at Brians? I'm not too sure about this, but hell, if that's true, maybe we can hold a small tournament and get some players interested....hopefully. We can try at schools, but Solar and I don't go to college, so we don't know. About high schools....we went to Kailua, which I know, since I was somewhat close to the administration and I grad in '09 so it hasn't been that long...that 100% they will not allow us to post up flyers of something like that on campus...don't know about the area around the schools (that's practically my neighborhood there XDDD). I'm sure Solar wouldn't mind and I don't mind trying to promote the BB community in HI, just we don't drive, we do have somewhat of a curfew, and an even tighter curfew if we don't have our friends to drive us.... so to the extent we will be able to help is limited. But regardless we will support in building a BB community. EDIT: I just realized I have a friend from HS who works at Brians...I'm not sure how much he'll know the chances of us holding a tournament or not, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask...if I can't catch him on FB, I'll probably end up going down to Brians on Mon. or Fri. (my days off this week) to find him or ask the administration at Brian's myself....not to set one up, but the likelihood of holding a CT tournament...

We should just set up more get togethers...gotta get out of the house on my days off!! XPPPPP And CT fail *shot* We need a CS cabinet somewhere...anywhere...they'd get business from us DDDX but I say more get togethers....get some 808 BB hype going and maybe it'll attract others >__>;;;

---- @Evac: Actually I did, and it came in right when I got back from Brians...been playing with it, but I'm more than likely to invest in some things to mod it XP. Thanks for the compliment, though....I want to get good someday....just will take awhile. Like all things do. I have no matchup practice whatsoever anyway so fighting other players is very refreshing ._.;;; --- We need more BB get togethers XP we (as in Solar and I) need a reason to get out of the house more....we stay in here all day. I know we're not the best of players (I guess that can be a bit discouraging) but it'd be nice to hang out with people in rl who like this game just as much as we do....it's always a learning experience to us. ^^;;; It was very nice to meet you all.

Hell we live in Kailua, which is out of your way. Solar can't go, she's bummed but it can't be helped...doctors and all, her mom scheduled it before we told her our plans to go out. I'll still be making an appearance. We're not the greatest of players, and we don't have a stick so we're not used to playing on arcade stick, but we're willing to meet people who play BB in Hawaii ^^

....I don't like to fight your Nu only because I was a scrub. I'm a bit better, but I still lose to Nu XD...that and constantly losing at arcade = losing money for me =P

Sounds good, it seems that Solar will not be accompanying me so I'll be going there alone, if you don't mind.

@Shujinko: Sounds good to us. @Shigz: If there's a change, let us know, I don't know if Solar and I will be able to go if it's at night, only because we have to take buses out there, 2 hours from Kailua ish, and we don't have a ride to/back.

We could probably do Friday maybe, since we can't go at night, we gotta take the bus to Brians, we don't drive XDDD

@Mystic: Solar and I will probably go to Brian's to play sometime Thurs. or Fri, it's when I have my days off. We're not good at the arcade stick yet (getting one soon, but we usually play with D-pad/analog). We need something to do on my days off instead of sit around the house and play BB online.

Sept. 11, 2010 when the BB scene is getting bigger XP. Actually when CT was coming out for console my friend told me to go get it. I brushed him off calling him otaku and ignored him....and guess what happened now? XDDDD I still hit myself over the head for not listening sooner. EDIT: I just noticed EVAC said 3 weeks from now and Shujinko said next Friday XPP can anyone clear this up for me?

I think Solar and I will go, playing will be a different story, I haven't been to PC Gamerz so I wouldn't know, I'm assuming you guys play BB on the Xbox?

Shujinko: You know what time at PC Gamerz? I know where it is, just thought I'd ask where because other(s?) posted different locations on BBCS casuals. Kaneohe isn't far from us...will take some time to get there, but if you give us a general time and tell us what day (3 weeks?) we'll come down. We're free the entire day.... It would be cool to organize whatever BB players we have here and gain some sort of community....I mean this island is small enough that you guys can say PC gamerz and majority of us can make it there.....save for people in town but that's no big deal to them >__>;;; Solar and I are still kinda newbish, but we'd be willing to come down and play and meet other BB players. Kurokun: ...It was Solar's first time at an anime convention, so naturally she would ask "what's this from?" since she doesn't have too much of an idea about anime/manga these days. I could name most of the cosplayers there, but then a Tao player walked by, and we liked the character design (not entirely the cosplay, it was okay), but then we didn't know what the series was from, our friends knew what it was from, told it was from Blazblue, and we did our research and....yeah got the game. We're artists so good character designs and pretty art will suck us in....and good gameplay and a storyline will make us continue to play it. I went to Brians and I could dash, iad, JC's were so easy, going into itsuu was so easy DX Ryuuisou was easier to do, and I could do blockstrings way better than on a controller. It feels awkward to me....getting combos in I would have to relearn, but I turned on my controller when I got home and started playing and...yeah...felt awkward. Plus regardless of what level I am at right now of playing, I still am serious about getting good at this game, so that was enough for me to invest in a TE.

Went to Brian's today, had a few laughs, guy used Ragna against a Bang player who knew how to play...Ragna person was spinning the stick in circles and pressing buttons....I think he just got lucky with the ID and it's usually followups. Also used Nu and didn't use ANY of her swords, or maybe like 4D (not 4DD...4D)...and yeah, lost badly, was kinda funny actually. ---- Shujinko: Where next Friday? I usually have my Fridays off, so Solar and I would be willing to show up and play some casuals. ---- Solar and I got serious about BB during KawaiiKon....usually if we get curious about something, we look it up, and a Tao cosplayer was our reason to look up BB...got interested and bought CT in April....it only took us a couple of months to really get into the game, but now we play it almost every day (when I'm not at work XP). We have little friends to play against, so we don't have too much matchup experience instead of each other XDD. Thus I'm sure Solar wouldn't mind if I dragged her down if there were BBCS casuals being held. on another note, I play on the analog stick + Dpad, but I just ordered a TE stick today....I'm getting frustrated using this controller already XDD I tolerated it for awhile, now after Brians, I want to play on a stick XPPP I play better on a stick imo than on a controller in the living room.... -___-;;;

BB casuals in Kaneohe sound nice though. It seems we're sorta getting some more BB players in HI, it would be nice to gather up a community since it seems we're getting a bit more BB players in HI to post on DL, it would be cool to set something up from here, Solar and I are usually a bit awkward trying to play against people we don't know offline.

It's an opinion just based on what we gathered, and the fact that the times we went to Brians, no one was playing the CT machine. The thing is, if it was pushed and we did get a CS cabinet, would the arcades get more attention from BB players? Or would it be kind of left on the side, played heavily upon getting it and eventually the hype would die down? and would that be a waste of their investment for one? Like a mention before, you said "The people who do play it don't really push for it since we all play it as a side game". So maybe if the BB scene was serious or big, at least one place would consider getting it if it was pushed enough. Because in the end it's business to them. It's not that we don't get out and know how big the scene of BB really is in Hawaii and this was never a case of "no one plays BB in Hawaii". To make that assumption is stupid. But it just seems that in the terms of who takes it seriously or not, the scene is not that big, otherwise we would've seen a CS cabinet here before even we got into the game.

Sorry, I missed a lot haven't I? DDDX Offline BB play? I have seen a few people who play it at Hawaiian Brians, but I don't know who they are or how serious they are. BB is sadlife, I have to agree. We got into BB due to some events at KawaiiKon, and I heard 'Blazblue' mentioned to me more times than 'Guilty Gear' to be honest. I've been trying to get into GG recently, just I'm not addicted to it as BB, probably since I haven't been following what's up or who the characters are so we'll see. Tekken 6 and SFIV seem to be the FG of 808...I remember some of my "friends" back in HS were so into SF...but I really can't get myself to like that game compared to BB, even GG. I have bought both games, even SSFIV...and I can't play that game for more than 10 minutes really before I get tired of it and want to turn it off.

Sooo...this may be a scrubby question, I'm still in the process of learning how to combo her properly and use her to her full potential...but this situation is annoying me and I want to learn if there is a way to punish it. My friends main is Tager and we've been playing against him often, and he recently learned how to buffer GETB off of Volt Tackle. So...whenever he's in a pinch (and I'm usually magnetized) he will try and spam Volt Tackle (especially if I'm in close range to him, he'll try to either Burst or try to poke me out of my combos so that he can just charge and buffer his 720). Even if he's not too incredibly close, he will charge and charge until he closes distance or GETB. I know I'm kinda a scrubby Litchi, but it's usually not hard to whittle him down to about 10-20% damage before he just decides to go last resort and spam charges to just lock me into a GETB.

SolarMisae is my roommate. So you pretty much know how we got the game...but one of my friends suggested that I try and cosplay Litchi (I...don't have her boobs though ._.;; ) but I do have this love of mature/strong female characters...just when I do all of them tend to have...big boobs. XD Litchi was no different. I play a scrubby Litchi....only because I'm still learning, I still have a job to go to, and I've been playing since April. I've been attached to her ever watching videos of her combos. I didn't care how hard they were going to be, I wanted to learn seriously after Solar got serious with BB. SolarMisae jokingly calls me "Boobie Lady" sometimes...and...I've taught myself to respond to it XDD
