  2. the lag was super noticeable the last time we played and made me say fuck this, it just isn't worth it. Which is why I don't care to play anymore and won't be. Matchups only come into play when you have a reasonable environment.
  3. It really is that bad. and tsubaki can work in lag but rachel is totally dead. Rachel: Nu is hella hard in the first place... And I would just order the reserves by icon color. For real.
  4. When's the last time I played you in a set with tsubaki and lost? The first time we played in EX? Ah yeah. And we're talking coast to coast LAG lambda/nu...

I got 10 solid people on the top list and didn't reorder the reserve list at all. some people I don't know. anyone that wants to take a shot at reordering it or 'promoting' someone to take TD's place go ahead. I'm sure we're going to dip into that reserve list quite a bit. At the least , moy is the king of flakes and has a like 10% chance of showing up.

  9. Haku does so much damage on the first hit that I think he doesn't care as much about P1 nerfs. Basically every single hit in the combo, after the first hit, will do 10% less damage now. but you already started with 1300 damage when you do JC. Compare to 300 with j.A. His Cs still have some beastly P2s also.
  10. I actually don't believe it's as big a deal or as affected by lag as it is made out to be, so I'll just leave it at that. Gbye.

  13. i don't see why lag would matter. you do it at the same time, it will happen at the same time, lag doesn't affect that. the input seems quite easy and it's not that tight. seems like there would have to be an ocean of lag for that to not work...

  15. so on defense.. On the same lines, having 'weak' defense isn't bad in lag. if I'm playing tsubaki... Can you do anything on reaction to me using a DP? DP RC? DP > dive? No. You have to hard call, hard block, etc. There's nowhere here that lag actually comes into play, besides maybe messing up your DP inputs because of lag. lag doesn't affect the offense side here really at all. Now.. Take the reverse situation, where you have WEAK defense. If the connection is smooth, you're not going to get out of oki. everything you've got can be denied on reaction. But it can actually get much harder to do that in lag, with all the tech options in this game. Meaties don't land on time, you miss a punish for a roll, someone gets to quick wakeup, etc all of those basic options are stronger in lag. The DP is not really any stronger. So is a character with strong defense helped by lag? I would say no. You might argue that if you can't dp, you have to try to block, which is harder because it is netplay, but is that true? This is netplay, come on. Not to mention if you're already playing against a character which has a strong mixup game that you're not going to block on reaction, it IS ONLY A BENEFIT TO HAVE LAG. There is a reason people say 'netplay', etc. It's cause it makes WEAKER things, things that won't work OFFLINE, work more often. That's all...

Relius' overhead is pretty slow, and blockable offline. lag can make it hard to block. with tsubaki you can just mash harder, since there is always a huge gap between her normals and her overhead. but with relius if you can't block it on reaction things are a lot harder. Since you can't mash out of his pressure at all, you have to dp out, and his pressure can go very long without having a gap.... therefore lag can help relius' offense a lot..
  17. so say I play rachel against tsubaki. You're not blocking my mixup on reaction offline or online. So it's obvious that I get no benefit out of the additional delay. and I personally believe that most "strong mixup" isn't going to have much difference in blocking between online and offline anyway (Litchi, Azrael, Jin 6a, etc). But there are characters where it clearly can make a difference. Like Relius or Tsubaki.
  18. The 'high mobility' part of Rachel is not what makes Rachel suffering to play in lag. It's the tightness of the confirms. it's the combos that require you to visually react to something which isn't REAL in lag. High mobility part? no... I don't think azrael combos require you to visually react to stuff, just press buttons at the same timing which will work in lag or not. to the degree azraels actually try to confirm is something else.. chars with weak mixup benefit more from lag. chars with borderline seeable mixup benefit more from lag.. chars that like throws benefit more from lag... Ehhhhhhhhhhh

  20. you don't want to safely recover, if you just safely recover that means your oki is gone. you need to really check this stuff, because if there's a way to get out of it by taking 100 damage from comet cannon.. that's really bad.

  23. characters heads and stuff snap back when they get hit. they return to normal standing/crouch state as they recover from attacks. the longer the hitstun, the longer their head is knocked back. other characters have the same thing, on various combos/pressure strings.
  24. counterhit is important, but so is the 14 vs 19 frames of untech time on different counter assaults. when you get hit by a ca you get blown back pretty fast, so you travel pretty far in 5 frames.
