Moy, were you gonna make the new matchup threads? If not, I'll just make them.
-
i think it's more like he can control what side he lands on by timing j.d, also their inputs get crossed up and it's pretty ambiguous (assuming by pressing j.d fast enough you stay on the same side, but he didn't show that) i'm more interested in j.d loop damage, but i wish he did more than 3 hammers. not too convincing that it's even worth the OD usage at this point lol, need more info, need this game etc

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm21433706 someone finally decided to test what i thought of pre-day 1 lol. still gotta test stuff > od w.o resetting though. the unblock was cute but i already run that orz

both hammer and mj hammer (5d) guardcrush, neither j.d's do. mj hammer is still a frame faster than non, and yeah, like moy said, +5 on block. i havent seen anyone use mj hammer 5d on block yet so :v no idea if it takes more barrier (aside from being a level higher)
-
plat damage in cp is 3.3k
-
oh my goodness qdora is incredible. is the netplay at least decent, i need to play someone ;o;
-
skimmed the stream archive, uri is acceptably qt i approve
-
i know you meant regular presents. 41f is a while, but as long as you're not predictable you should be fine. especially considering if they try to punish but you recover, they're just going to get bopped ib > magica would only be possible we could chargebuffer > ib > input, which idk about lol. maybe? will test IN OCTOBER. whens bbcp2 btw
-
present is pretty strong lol, not really sure how they could buff it without making it nuts. it would be nice if the command throw was faster, and magica is ok. magica is definitely weaker than it could be but the teleport counter might've been even weaker than this, lol. im a bit annoyed that even though it has the benefit of being unable to be crossed-up, if they DO cross you up the doll won't auto-correct. if it did, you'd be safe from both sides, and you'd be able to rc a blocked doll from the opposite side. NEEDS WORK #whensbbcp2 i'm still confused at how cdt traded, i can only assume daiwa tk'd the air version (which is visibly noticeable, i'd have to check the video again) since that's vulnerable for the frame that it hits (4f invul 4+1f startup vs cdt's 12f invul 5+7f startup). idk i think plat's pretty solid overall, but is still deserving of some buffs
-
on the other hand, you'll rarely see quick get-up. if you mix things up enough while playing smart you can get away with a lot. daiwa making top 8 was good, he could've honestly taken the whole thing lol. sorta glad he didn't though, it's because of him plat hasn't ever been past b tier ;_; if he won plat would've just gotten nerfed again w

Well, needless to say, we didn't make yesterday as the date for the tourney, due to a grand total of 2(3?) entrants. From what people have been telling me, it seems like the lack thereof is due to people being unsocialunable to find partners, so let's try this a different way. I'll make the new date for the first monthly on the first Sunday of may, being May 5th. Until then, perhaps either Kurushii or I could host an open PSN room for unlimited chars every Sunday? Maybe! Also, I'll change the sign up method. Sign up alone if you don't have a partner, and you'll be matched up with someone else randomly. Sound good?

AYO READ DIS SHIT ALRIGHT, so. Always hearing "why isn't there more unl tourneys??" and "why aren't there more team tourneys??" so I'm aiming to fill both plates at once. This is sort of important and I'm going to make it a big deal, because I think it is a good idea. Okay. So. Ever play a match against someone a state away and it felt worse than that time you played a european dude? I know I have. So I'm gonna /enforce/ this shit. GO TO WWW.SPEEDTEST.NET AND WWW.PINGTEST.NET HIT THE NICE BIG "BEGIN TEST" BUTTONS TO RUN TESTS ON YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION. POST THE RESULTS IN YOUR ENTRY. This tourney will primarily be EST/CST. If you're not EST/CST but have a strong connection and can /back it up/ with speed/pingtest, then I encourage you to do so! I'm doing this mainly to allow as many people to play as possible with as little frustration as possible. If you're EST/CST, you're still subject to a speed/pingtest, naturally. Everyone should have a chance to have fun! For Reference, I've taken both tests. Your speed/pingtests will look something like these, respectively: (if your scores arent quite that good, don't feel discouraged. my internet isnt normal lol) It only takes like a minute and it solves a lot of potential problems down the road. I seriously think this should be a standard for netplay tourneys. Or netplay anything, probably. As I'm sure you all know, BB's connection numbers can be very deceiving at times. Alright then. This is a free entry netplay tourney with, thanks to Hellknight10 and xntrikcat, a 25/10/5 payout! (preemptive thanks for some of the format from Hellknight10's thread, lol) General Information: -Please try to get on a bit earlier than the starting time! -Player Limit: 8 or 16, depending on amount of entrants -Teams, 2v2, Waseda-style *If you can't find a partner, sign up anyway. You'll be randomly matched to another single entry member. -Single elim, single waseda match -2 out of 3 rounds -Character locked (In the event you win but your partner loses, your second match will be locked to the character you won with) * For those that don't know, in Waseda-style both teams choose a player from their team to go first. Then both of the second players fight regardless of the outcome. If one team wins both times, the match is over. If one from both teams win, then both winners fight eachother in the third round. It could be a little complicated so here's a couple examples: Ex: Team A (SKD, BananaKen) vs Team B (Leonil, DC) First Match: SKD vs Leonil, SKD wins Second Match: DC vs BananaKen, DC wins because BananaKen can't play, he's just a stickcaddy Third Match: SKD vs DC, SKD wins Team A advances. Ex2: Team A (spirit juice, SKD) vs Team B (brkrdv, ZomB) First Match: SKD vs brkrdv, SKD wins Second Match: spirit juice vs ZomB, spirit juice wins Team A advances. Tournament Rules: -2 out of 3 round matches as stated above (the in-game setting for this is 2) -Please don't skip the intro. -Unlimiteds only, Stylish Mode OK -Grand Finals will be 2 out of 3 waseda matches. Room Hosting/Match Recording: -Either Kurushii or I will host a room that you, your partner, and your opponents will be invited to player rooms by. Once everyone is invited, both team's first players will start their match. Please decide team order promptly. -Kurushii will be also be streaming the matches. His twitch.tv channel is located here. -Be there ON TIME. If you are your team member is not on time, you or they may be disqualified. * If you would like to be a backup room hoster/streamer, let me know! Disconnect/Connection Problem Rules: -Disconnecting forfeits that Round, start up another match and get the rounds to go back to how they were originally and then the "disconnectee" must let the other person win whatever round was at the point when it disconnected. Ex. Player A wins Round 1, Player B disconnects during Round 2. Match point is given to Player A since it's a 2/3. Ex2: Player A wins Round 1, but disconnects on Round 2. Match is replayed, Player A gets Round 1 back, and Player B is given Round 2 since Player A disconnected. Ex3: Player A disconnects on the first round. Match is replayed with Player B getting the first round. -If the same person disconnects more than once, they forfeit the match. -If the person doesn't sign back on within 5 minutes they forfeit that match. If their partner goes 2-0, the team will advance regardless. -In the case of a repeat offender, they may be disqualified from the tourney, and their partner must either quickly find a backup or be disqualified themselves. -Please don't complain about lag, I've asked everyone to complete a speed/pingtest for this reason. Communication: -Please don't use a mic. -I'll be making a Text Chat Room for the tournament. -Please do not talk a lot on the PSN chat, only discuss your match ie. giving me results. -Feel free to leave the PSN chat once you and your opponent are matched up, but make sure you come back afterward. Tips on Avoiding Lag: -Use a wired connection if available. -Do not skip the intro. -Do not use a mic. -Leave the Text Chat BEFORE starting your match, leaving the Text Chat during the match (Character Select, Vs. Screen or during the intro) will mess up the synchronization and cause lag. -Do not stream videos during the match (YouTube, Twitch.tv, etc.) -Do not send messages (or go to the XMB) during the match (Character Select, Vs. Screen or during the intro) this will also mess up the synchronization. Current Sign-ups: 1) <YOU MUST KNOW WHAT I AM etc> PSN IDs: doctornk / emp_tri-force_gm Back-up List: Legend: #) = Team name followed by PSN IDs. *#) = Back-up, will become a main participant when someone doesn't show on tournament day. If signing up as a back-up before the initial 16 spots are filled then the * label will automatically be given. If you sign up after the initial 16 spots are filled, you are automatically assigned as a backup. Priority is determined by sign up order. **Please continue to sign-up even if it is full, people may/will drop out. And remember, you can still sign up alone, you'll be matched up with someone else randomly if you cannot fin a partner.** ONLY ONE POST PER TEAM. POST NEEDS TO INCLUDE BOTH PLAYERS' INFORMATION. /USE THIS FORMAT/ Official Sign-up Format: Your PSN ID: Your Speedtest/Pingtest: Your Location (State/Province/etc): Your Time Zone: If you're signing up with a partner; Team Name: Partner's PSN ID: Partner's Speedtest/Pingtest: Partner's Location (State/Province/etc): Partner's Time Zone: -Sign-ups begin immediately. -Please continue to sign-up even if spots are filled because there is a good chance someone won't be able to play at the last minute. -Please sign-up using this format, I don't want to look up your info, and I shouldn't have to. -If you're listed as a replacement player, you should still expect to be playing in the tournament. This is so if I need you, you will be available (on time) and still be warming up as if you were playing in the tournament anyway. -NO DROPPING MID-TOURNAMENT. If you drop DURING the tournament without a good reason then you will be banned from the next tournament. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. You can either PM me here on dustloop or message me on either PSN or Skype (doctornk on both). Once again, READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY. If you ask me a question I've answered in here I'll probably just tell you to read this OP again.

i saw this too. ive already stolen it it's guardpoint and easily safejumped, hell there's enough time to jump behind it and dodge the doll completely. imo using magica on wakeup is a terrible idea, and it's best used in-between pressure strings. i'd like to say it'd be good to beat cross-up attempts but since iirc you always teleport backwards the same regardless of what side you get hit on, the doll will probably just whiff, lol. really just need to test it myself :v #cpwhen
-
tk typhoon closest to the ground is 9f, regular is 12. who thought this was a good idea seriously this will connect off of like anything in the air lmao iirc shes not invul so she'll die if she doesn't rc the doll
-
4+1 hahahaha who thought that was a smart idea
-
im going to spend all of my meter on air cdt and harisen

bc, barrier or float down j.b (whiff). bc if i think they'll jump, barrier if i think they'll mash, and float down j.b for going low (j.b whiffs but you still hear j.b sfx) lol this combo video is making me literally insane
