I enjoyed watching KOF but I hated how corporate the mlg stream was. but eh e-sports is da future, right fellow cyber athletes?

I don't see an S tier in Persona. There isn't that one character that completely butt rapes everyone or has majority favored matches.

Chie is dumb. She is up der wit mitsuru and naoto. Akihiko's bang color palette is so awesome.

To be fair Milln, In this day and age where we have youtube, and other kinds of social media, information spreads faster and meta games do develop faster compared to say 10, maybe even 5, years ago. Not to mention after like 15 years or so of fighting games the community has gained enough experience to know what to look out for in terms of what makes a character good etc. especially when it's fighting game veterans, like the "Japs". Most judgments made in the first month or so for games nowadays don't drastically change over the game's life span because of this. You may complain about patches being too sudden but i think it's fair to say that fighting games today are more balanced because of them compared to when they weren't patched.

P4:U is looking fun. I am liking Naoto.

I just want to go on the record and say to Star and everyone else that I am willing to admit when I am wrong but I haven't because I have not been wrong. /troll but in all seriousness I argue to better understand a person's position. When I find something that doesn't logically click in my brain and I present it. I don't think i or anyone is "right" or "wrong" and just because I always comeback with something to say doesn't mean im just stuck in my ways. It's my way of investigating and understanding what you are trying to say because (especially on forums) it's pretty hard to put down words which have all these connotations attached to them that can clearly express what you are thinking so it requires some refining and that's what my pestering is.

You guys are being way too dramatic. You guys aren't this vocal in person which I would prefer instead of on the interwebz.
-
I dont think you understand what im saying. And btw I pummeled you back when i actually gave a fuck about blazblue. Im not saying I'm better than you but you have a huge stick up your ass and someone needs to tell you.

Volpe we naturally get better by just playing each other. I think some communities become a little too competitive and it kind of taints the air with an aura of hostility. I like what we have. We play together seriously and we mess around and do silly stuff. Like I said to Star, if you find an issue with how we do things you need to act and change it. So spark up discussions ask questions etc. to get people to be as engaged as you want them to be in getting better. Don't wait for others to act on what you tell them is the problem. If you want anything done you have to enact it yourself.

I don't like being called "fighting gamer" I prefer "cyber athlete" cause we are E-SPOOOORTSSSS!!!!! /trollloolololol but in all seriousness I think we are all friends, at least i talk shit, and everyone has improved and helped each other become better players. To be honest Star you put yourself in a corner and isolate yourself from us. You need to be the one that is more outgoing and engaging if you want to feel like you are part of the group. You don't really talk unless spoken to and you tend to be too serious at get togethers. Those types of behavior doesn't help in making friends. I think everyone here respects each other's opinions. The fact that people are willing to respond with a thought out argument must mean they took some time to consider and think about what you said regardless of whether you agree or not or if you think he or she misunderstands you. When we respond it's only after we think thoroughly about what you say and i think that's a form of respect. Everyone here has their opinions criticized to some degree so i don't think it's fair for you to feel like you are the only one. You say we have our heads held high, but you say this "they are so dead-set in their ways that it's hard for them to comprehend what being wrong is" I don't think wrong is the right word to use here. That's implying we are claiming something a fact when, and i think we can all agree on this, all of our discussions are highly opinionated. And opinions are not right nor wrong. The irony is that you say we are so dead-set in our ways...but maybe you are so dead-set in thinking we are wrong? But I get what you are saying, when we respond to your opinions and criticize it can come off as elitist or snobbish. But you aren't helping yourself when you overgeneralize, are not clear enough, or include remarks or statements that are just plain insults. TLDR: You want to get to know someone on a level beyond just games? then just start talking to that person. You want your voice to be heard? Then say what you are thinking but in a respectful manner and accepting of criticism. Oh and btw, the fact that you havent won a tournament yet and have been bodied by Astaroth, myself, Chandler, Midnight, etc. MTNG has enough skilled players to make you "grow". But one thing you need more than Blazblue skills is a change in perspective of what the community is to you and no amount of netplay is going to help you with that.

So I request we patch the Samurai Kirby game and nerf Papstr by muting the sound. =)

Why do people try to argue about videogames' legitimacy as a sport? It doesn't need to be called a sport to be respected. Just call it what it is: competition. Because that's what it's all about regardless of whether you call it a sport or not. And surely, money and sponsorship shouldn't be reasons to legitimize something as a sport. Hell, have you heard of taser ball? Yeah I haven't either, but these guys have and they think it's a "sport" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E38G31wo7qc Point is, don't get occupied with placing videogames under a category it draws focus away from the main reason why we play and that is the love of competition and the fun of play.
-
Why would you refer to me as my real name and then randomly switch to Papstr?
-
As long as there is at least a single person in TN playing BB I won't drop it. Same goes for any other game I choose to pick up. I'll even have a two man tournie. It'll be a FT10. If it's like 3-5 people we will do round robin.
-
If you pick up SFXT over KOFXIII I will knee you in the balls.

While I think Blazblue is a solid game, it's true that it hasn't been particularly popular. When you play really good players on netplay or watched the japanese godsgarden stream i think it would revitalize your will to play because those guys really show how deep the yomi is in this game. Even if it's not Guilty Gear level. Honestly I wouldn't drop Blazblue yet since we haven't had a tournie with Extend. Maybe after March we can decide to drop it based on the number of people who enter. That being said, If you, Milln, believe that the number of entrants isn't worth the resources and time put into running Blazblue then drop it. There are plenty of other fighting games out there especially this year and im sure the BB purists here will find something they will like (if they are willing to play it for more than 1 week jesus). And if not they can wait till Guilty Gear comes out which i know will have a nice turnout. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gp29dKVggc here is a sample of the godsgarden stream
