I put $100 of my money where my mouth is. (Which would be approximately at "I enjoy BB" x "I wish it had more exposure"). It's the only game I'm giving money to. I KNOW it's not going to win, but you know, fuck that, I am going to support my damn game.
-
I think this is why they weren't publishing figures. But MLP kinda "doesn't count" now, because if it wins, they take the #2 game. So really we/everyone is competing with Smash.
-
I was kinda hoping it'd get mentioned on the frontpage, myself, but... MLP is, frankly, an outlier, since it's getting money from a lot of people who don't play fighting games.
-
My money currently constitutes nearly half of the BB donations. -_-
-
The small size of those numbers in general is super depressing. Poverty scene indeed.
-
Doing two hits on the 623D is the "easy" way to avoid mugen running out before the last hit of the dive aura so that you get the bonus proration in extend, but that only applies on a one charge mugen.
-
I don't. I didn't go 0-2 in matches, and only one of my losses was a total blowout. :P No idea WTF all the salt is about. XBL ranbats, FFS.
-
I stand corrected!
-
That could just mean that it's a super high level projectile itself. And anyway, 'projectile' is just a property they put on stuff. I'm convinced that if they wanted to, they could make Ragna's 5B a 'projectile'.
-
Well, the reason I ask is because j.236D > j.214D in Extend IS a projectile.
-
I don't think this is the place to debate the "already in" games; I just made this thread to let people know they can "vote" for the last slot.
-
Well, it's sortof relevant. How much is this matchup going to suck in CP when we don't have an unblockable to harass Tager with? Are we going to be relying on our command throw to turn this matchup around? Heh. Do we know if the [4]6D>236D aura is a 'projectile'?

[CS1-CSE] Tsubaki Self-Improvement and Critique Thread
Airk replied to NickExtreme1's topic in Archive
Yes, it took me this long to get some more matches where I felt I was playing to something near my 'best' - not that I'm shy of showing videos of other stuff, but there's not much point when I can watch them myself and go "Well, that was dumb, and that was dumb, and WTF was I doing there, and boy I dropped a lot combos..." So here we have: vs capsuletoyco (Jin) vs mac chaos (Of Dustloop fame!) and again - I was getting tired here, apparently, because my execution was going swiftly downhill. You can see it in several nice dropped combos in the second vid in particular. OTOH, I also teched more throws here than I think I've ever done before. :P -
I don't really agree that charge cancels are really that big a help; I mean, I guess they are, but only because the normals are so terrible to begin with that they go from "Pretty darn bad" to "Just kinda bad" when you charge cancel them. :P The only saving grace here is that we can reset pressure from -2 anywhere in our blockstring. Yay, I guess. I'm really not worried about combos or damage - I never really am so long as it's not complete garbage. I worry about neutral tools - And we do seem to have gotten a few good ones this time - and pressure tools, where I feel we're still kinda lacking. I guess we'll see as time goes on.

If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it, but as people may be aware, EVO is determining their 8th game in a 'vote with your wallet' funfest as per this SRK Newspost.. Of course, the link for BB is broken (Good job, SRK!); The correct link seems to be: https://www.wepay.com/donations/evo2013-bbcp I recognize that we're probably not going to be the winners here, but this is a chance to show support anyway. All moneys go to a very worthy cause (Which happens to be near and dear to my heart, as I've had several family members with breast cancer, all of whom are still with us), so it can't hurt to put in what you can. Thank you.
-
I agree; Though they're even kinda messing with this a bit in this game since they made our other supers somewhat less crap for damage dealing (since you can combo after them). I don't really want 'mugen' to be a huge central part of playing the character. Yes, this. I get cranky everytime I look at Hazama's normals. It's like "What? That's plus? And that is THAT fast? And reaches that far?" I really feel like they're not really giving this character time/thought.
-
Hrm. When did we discover this? Because I would have sworn that the last time I looked the thread just said "If you activate Mugen then OD, Mugen will take priority over OD" without mention of it draining slower. x.x
-
I guess, but I feel there's an extra level of "detachment" here, because with attack level and hitstun, attack level determines hitstun unless an exception is added. With counter hit time, it's just that they usually match up. Probably just me being weird. Or maybe I just didn't notice the pattern with CH time, whereas the relation between attack level and hitstun is quite definitively written down. Also, what I meant by "supermugen" - doesn't Hakumen get to use OD with Mugen to extend it, whereas our OD basically does nothing except disable bursting if we use it in Mugen?
-
I'm pretty sure I can't play against Nemesis - I get zero bars to him now. =/
-
It is fast for certain measures. A "fast" move in BB is 5 frames. A "fast" move in SF4 is 3. A "fast" overhead in BB is 19 frames. Ryu's overhead in SF4 is 17 (and I make no promises that there aren't faster.). The throw tech window in BB is 13 frames, in SF4 it's like 4 or something. There are things about SF4 that are fast. Movement is not one of them, however, so the game 'feels' slow in some ways. Also, I wouldn't get too excited about the 5B not being a counterhit - it looks like they just reduced the CH time on it (which is a completely seperate value from the recovery, which is why, for example, when Tsubaki gets punished after an A DP in Extend, it's not a counter hit, even though she's clearly still in recovery.)
-
Yeah, and wouldn't that be terrible. ;P Oh well. Hopefully more stuff will show itself. Seen a couple of decentish mugen combos, at least, though it's kinda lame how Hakumen gets supermugen with overdrive and we...don't.
-
But there's also no reason for it. They're not the same move. Why restrict it? I don't think Mugen has anything to do with it - there's no reason you'd ever use j.214D in a mugen combo, that I can think of, anyway. It'd be more relevant for OD stuff, most likely. Not a big deal, but makes you go "Why would you do that?"
-
That's super lame. =/

Another thing you can try if your connection seems cranky, is just run a ping to a reliable site for a while, and see if you get packet loss. For example: ping -t www.google.com Pinging www.google.com [173.194.75.106] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=47 Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=47 Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=47 Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=47 Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=47 Reply from 173.194.75.106: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=47 Ping statistics for 173.194.75.106: Packets: Sent = 6, Received = 6, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 23ms, Maximum = 24ms, Average = 23ms Control-C --- You'll want to let it run a lot longer than that - an hour or two or whatever - but the important bit, really, is the Lost percent; If you have, honestly, any packet loss at all, you'll want to reach out to your ISP and say "hey, what the hell?" - I had this at my past place where there was, literally, some sort of issue with the wiring on my STREET which was causing all kinds of bad connection stuff. It took a few goes with my ISP to get them to finally send a repair guy who cared and knew what he was doing, but once we got one, he poked around and said, "Oh yeah. Look at that. Your signal is garbage even at the street. Lemme just... ohhhhh. Well, let's fix that then." and things were a lot better afterwards. QoS stuff isn't, really, that important unless you are competing with other traffic on your internet connection - my understanding is that all that it really does is ensure that traffic from console gets "top priority" and doesn't wait behind someone else in the house watching Hulu or something. Still, it doesn't hurt to set it up. I actually just did that last night on my Dlink router. No idea if it made any difference, but sure didn't hurt.

Maybe "mythical" would've been better, in the sense that I didn't really believe he existed. ;P
