  1. yo i dont even know who you are or play gg but i got money on xaq
  2. yeah, for other "only usable on grounded opponent" moves, as far as ragna is concerned certain moves can just straight up trigger it without having the opponent touch the ground, so if it wasnt a hard knockdown state or something like that i wouldnt be surprised.

  4. almost every 5A/2A is level 1.
  5. uuuu slight correction, for 6C to go through houtenjin off of a cancel, it has to be much later, so the same rules apply to houtenjin as does phorizer! sorry. on a similar note, these are all based off of the mook numbers, but i think some of 5b's data is wrong so...take it with a grain of salt! (i am 100% sure that the CH Hitstun data is incorrect, so it could just be a case of that being an exception, though it may lead me to believe that 5B is a level 3 normal, or that 6C has 18f startup instead of 19. If its level 3...that changes things)
  6. obviously you can DP since there is a frame gap, but since its a gatling usually done at mid/far range 5B there are a few things to consider. By individual gatlings: 5B > 6C: 6f gap, if your opponent jumps they better be holding barrier. Goes under high 5A's (which is pretty much 5f 5A's), Fastest 2A/Crouch hitting 5A (with the exception of NOEL, with a 5f 5A that hits crouch) at 6f trades, izayoi can still followup on crouch FC 6C after trading. Can be beaten with IB on 5B and then 2A/ other 5-8f move, though other frame trap options exist to punish that relatively safely, so it isnt "free". Usually done at a range so that it becomes difficult to punish stance cancel (on IB, stance cancel is -7) meaning that while most DP/supers wont make the cut, houtenjin and phorizer can serve as a "punish" (assuming the opponent has no meter or overdrive) as well as a DP (though, houtenjin is touchy since delayed 6C will cause houtenjin to go right through izayoi). 6C > Saber: 2f gap, pushes back, at worst trades with 5A if close enough and instant blocked, but thats 2 stocks for Izayoi and frame advantage or even a combo post trade. stance cancel is +1, so reversals even on 6C IB'd dont force anything. TL;DR string/stagger meta obviously at work for 5B 6C, as it is for almost every other character. dead spike is much, much easier to disrespect. IB 2A/8f blah blah being the main option to interrupt 6C, but...other gatlings exist to deter disrespect on IB. Without IB, your only option is some kind of reversal unless you are noel. 6C 236A is pretty much "DP/backdash or dont", like any other frame gap. pretty much "legit", this is standard fare for most character's blockstrings. the only "ensured" reversal after 5B is in the mirror match, where the only thing that really beats it meterless is like...5b teleport <_>.
  7. time to hit up kickstarter
  8. READY TO FUCK
  9. mmm...not too bad midscreen, since you dont really get B lion at the end of harshly scaled combos midscreen. if anything, that situation doesnt even come up too much outside of like...sandwich crouch confirm into 2C B lion haha. i would take corner carry over B lion into nothing midscreen anyways, if it means we can do high damage corner combos into knockdown (!!!!!!!!!!!) ;o i mean, i guess off of B lion starter it sucks hahaha right now, when you get B lion you dont really get knockdowns unless you do a really lame combo like B lion run up sweep, so its not much of a loss in that regard. the main thing we lose is corner carry, but hopefully IAD jAC can save the day
  10. B lion slide means easy knockdowns!
  11. my friend plays this button setup, it works very effectively with no macros, so its a viable solution if things do get banned and people still want to play pad. personally, if i had to stray from a basic face button layout on pad, i would just switch to stick, so its a no go for me~ it seems really shitty, but its really not that hard. at the end of the day its largely preference, im sure you could learn something else. anyways, im pretty much saying i really disagree. i wouldnt put my own preference in a control scheme over competitive balance lol
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Xg77PIfsDg ??? interesting? music choice
  13. i use macros. i cant play pad without macros. i still feel like a ban would be justified. a conclusion has to be reached on whether to allow them or not. i like brett's suggestion, since the capability exists on stick it isnt exactly an "unfair advantage" to allow it, thus making the problem the discrepancy between arcade and console. well im going to abuse the shit out of this until a conclusion is reached.
  14. ill be there, abusing button macros and holding exploits
  15. mori also stated izayoi was designed to be easy
  16. we ran a single elim team tournament for BB at ECT 2012. people werent really...enthused hahaha. i dont really think the hype will be there. you get the event, but at the end of the day we are picking one or the other, so i think most people shouldnt really count on a side event happening, especially with how cramped it is going to be this year with sunday finals.
  17. i agree with low cost entry. its really good. a little offtopic but @richygaming please dont care about online rankings, i mean you can if you want to but dont because they really mean nothing in terms of actual ability. you can if you want to. but dont. please.
  18. dont leave immediately after you lose lol, we had that happen once and it was like "oh". even funnier because it was a double elim tournament and the person left after being sent to losers bracket. just hang around if youve got the time, play casuals etc dont worry about your name, my tag is superkawaiidesu. SUPER. KAWAII. DESU.
  19. 5b 236b does NOT combo lmao
  20. yeah, this would be a good idea but we would have to come to a decisive conclusion about teams or singles, and the poll is still open (and not horribly far apart) until alan says something.
  21. there is high likelihood of teams not happening at all if not the main event. we could just as easily subtitute "teams on friday or sunday" for singles and the problem would go either way, maybe less so since its much easier to actually get a singles side tournament going as opposed to a team tournament. A lot of people take it as "not serious" but i dont really get why it couldnt be? Japan's large tournaments (SBO sometimes, mikado etc) have had teams as the main event. then again, "serious" seems kind of silly to me. We are practically getting the game November, so we have a little more than a month to learn, and its not even going to be available in NA, so import or bust. there is honestly no better time for a "not serious" format (if you even want to consider it as such, but ill give you that subjective leeway). if you dont lose, your team wont. if youre afraid of getting randomed out in ft1, lol all my opinion yadda yadda, if any of you flake because of the community decision to have one format over the other im going to be pretty disappointed edit: its your responsibility as a player to be able to compete in different formats. even grand finals has a different format than 2/3, and that takes a different mindset. ft1 is uncommon HERE, but still something you should be ready for. the only real viable complaint i would take is "i want to play more, so i want singles", aside from inherent dislike of teams format (not being solo etc but i dont think thats THAT bad). I know 2/3 is tried and true tournament format, but tournament is tournament. if you wanted to measure your skill im pretty sure sets against strong players would be a much better measure than tournament. do you really think 2/3 prevents people from getting randomed out? especially month 1? look at p4, a game that was available to everyone and my boy emp psyken sent lord knight to losers. LORD KNIGHT. If you think youre better than lk this doesnt apply to you, but we should put some money on that or something
  22. VOTE FOR IZAYOI, VOTE FOR TEAMS #IZAYOIGOD2013 #THEREISHOPE
  23. if you were truly a strong player i dont think you would let things that you are unfamiliar with catch you by surprise, you should half expect it if its within the realm of possibility (within game limits/constraints, ofc)
  24. yes and yes
  25. i mercilessly corpse beat, not because i think its corpse beating but because i want to hit buttons i normally cant hit i dont like it when people think they are good but they have barely scratched the surface of what it means to be a strong player yeah
