i dont think its that, more like...it boils down to "you have to hit them more, and hitting them is more difficult"

yeah, you dont use like normal magic series. it goes like A > C > C close up for frame traps and whatever (stance cancel, 3C/6C, ss) ...2B 5B (something, but definitely not 5C) is a good midrange gatling, but most of her pressure involves guessing sonic saber/6C/stance cancel from what ive gathered. the main point is that for close range confirms you combo into 236C, which only combos off of C normals. If you do 3 gatlings unless you are incredibly deep you wont be able to OTG into a full confirm. in any case, B > C isnt a common gatling (there isnt much point, there are better frame traps you can do with other gatlings, and most of the time you are out of range) unless its 5B 6C.

i mean, what im really just trying to say is money talks, and a more profitable move is a more realistic one. In that sense, asking for a ps4 port makes more sense than asking for a 360 port. While you as a consumer has to buy a new console, if they actually made a port for ps4 it would be way more profitable than a 360 port (which has zero market presence in japan). The 360 may as well already have vanished into smoke in arc's eyes, which is why i dont agree with the implication that a 360 port would do /anything/ for them. If they had money to throw around and make 2 ports (ps3 and 360) we wouldnt be in this situation in the first place. The only way for them to consider a port period is if its more profitable to them. I also dont believe it will make much a difference, but if you choose to make the effort to put together a petition and gather signatures you may as well propose a stronger idea...

Yeah, ive heard that along with the conceptual nightmare that is porting ps3 to ps4. There was a recent development in that regard though, unity playstation dev tools? Im unsure about how well cp could use that considering its been in production for a while now and i would refrain from making optimistic leaps but its still just a more profitable option in the end. http://www.psu.com/a018829/ , for reference~ oh yeah, gaikai too. i wasnt even thinking of that hahaha

we really dont have a way of accurately deducing which port is "easier" given what we know, but on the flipside, a 360 port just simply isnt as productive (im assuming a port to a next gen console would get more attention, especially with the poor, poor sales of xbox in japan, their main audience). So my point still stands, you'd have to ask specifically for a PS4 port which is [in the grand scheme of things] ultimately more profitable than asking for a 360 port.

really? im pretty sure psn crosses over between ps3 and ps4. otherwise, the vita would be phased out. everything youve purchased would be gone, and ps+ wouldnt carry over to ps4 (confirmed this will, indeed carry over along with your psn account) so i really doubt what youre saying is correct. edit: though, on the subject of netplay i dont know how that would work out. The two probably wouldnt be compatible, but what i was implying was simply porting it to PS4's ps store, even if it was separate from ps3 it really wouldnt matter. im 99% sure they mentioned ps3 games being released on the store during conferences. i dont know how drastically changed that port would have to be (assuming netplay, i guess it would be very different) but...its still a digital ps3 game, which i would assume would be less work than making a 360 port, which is really the biggest fault with this suggestion as im relatively uninformed about how difficult a digital release (which would probably have to be altered, in any case) is.
-
i think a better and more frugal idea would be to ask for them to consider attempting to put BBCP on PSN as a downloadable ps3 game compatible with ps4, then just getting a ps4 instead of having to buy an old system. considering the kind-of similar release dates its probably more cost effective and realistic for everyone.

most of the "serious tournament players" in NY (arguably one of the more active regions, also having a pretty high level of play) played skullgirls while it was the new thing. please dont be so quick to dismiss things you are unaware of. There are other reasons people dont play (a bunch of which are the same reasons why people dont play other games so...) By mentioning "serious tournament players: are you implying that only the "fandom" or WHATEVER pays attention to skullgirls? why would you think that? im aware that the reason why it garnered so much money was because of that kind of following, but it doesnt invalidate the "serious tournament players" who pay attention to it. fighting games as a whole generally have much larger "followings" outside of the "community". i know skullgirls has little to no tournament activity but still :\ the interest is there! im not sure why you were so quick to dismiss his attempt to garner activity.

Game Underground Presents: GUTS 2 Boston, MA June 14-16 P4A/BB/GG
skd replied to LordPangTong's topic in Archive
venue fee would be insane. that said, boston is only about 4/5 hours away! (take a bus, super cheap + easy) -
Theres a really active scene here! You should stop by Next Level this saturday, our monthly tournament is being run that day. We also have strong p4a/bb players, so if youre interested in those games there are people for that too.

What impact has GG, BB, or P4A had on you in real life?

-
ahhh. thanks though. i havent played in a while haha. i forgot you had to mash to tech when i first started playing :v
-
netplay isnt particularly my cup of tea but ill try, im on right now. my psn is superkawaiidesu, could you invite me?
-
im assuming this is at a decent level where my opponent would be aware of something like this, and if im assuming pressure is good/respectable, there are probably reasons for it (aka no, you probably couldnt just poke and mash out of it. why else would i want to block over turning things around?). Im already considering that element, essentially. the major thing that dictates these things is riskreward, and IMO hakumen has a jolly good time driving that aspect.
-
Well, to make it more clear, i feel safer being on the receiving side of pressure in ragna's case, comparatively speaking. Im less inclined by the threat of stronger mixup or callouts to do anything riskier. SO while i may be blocking a lot, i would judge that ragna's pressure is /weaker/ than someone like hakumen. And as ragna too! of course i could dp or bdash or mash out accordingly, but i said blocking because i meat well...blocking. there are definitely other aspects of dealing with pressure, but blocking is (well, to me at least) the single most prominent one. Blocking is...generally how you deal with pressure, i would think?
-
from the perspective of an (arguably) high level player, i feel MUCH safer blocking vs ragna than hakumen and ex kune. i highlighted a word. its important. also by the way crossfire, 22C DC Dead spike DC does work as a combo.
