  1. I wasn't even going to bother with that one, since the only supposed solution I've ever seen to it involved repeated uses of 5B during C/D bug hits, and fuck that. I've been trying to get better with using multiple bugs that aren't just C/D bugs in a row, and BCD (B bug missing) is the first one to give me real trouble. His Challenge 29 seemed like a decent practice combo for this purpose.
  2. Has anyone done all of Arakune's challenge mode combos? I had a question about 29. At the start it goes 4B>C/D bug>CT And the B bug flies down in front of Azrael. On that combo are you supposed to do 4>6]b[>5cd>CT? Or immediately release the B button after hit?
  3. Hmmm... Since we may be losing 6B>j.D (and with it, one of the corner insta curse combos), I was thinking: Might starter>2C>5D>236B>6D>j.D work for an instant curse in the corner? The combo above makes it sound like 6D>j.D works in at least some situations.
  4. To be fair, they'd probably say the same about any loketest. I remember during the first CS2 loketests, it was entirely guesswork as to when we'd see CS2 on consoles (and IIRC the estimates ended up being two months or so too early).
  5. Do you have the full notation for those combos? >_> I'm not sure what would come after 214C in the OD combo for that damage (my guess is either CT>j.8Dx3>j.C?>Lauger>4D>Tedo/3C depending on meter or just j.C>Lauger>4D>Tedo/3C).
  6. Anyone know if RYO or any other Japanese Relius is at Akihabara Hey for the Loketest? I'd really like to know exactly what this new followup is. >_>
  7. Even if they do go through with it completely (say, pre-curse OD curses automatically by filling up curse gauge, and curse continues after OD is over), would it be as apocalyptically bad for other characters as some of the people on the CP2 thread in the gameplay forum (as well as people on other CP forums) are making it sound? In particular, I'm thinking of one claiming that this change by itself would invert matchups with the Murakumo units/Rachel to be in Arakune's favor (and others claiming this would be the return of CT Arakune; I'd just about hope they're right, I loved CT Arakune >.>).
  8. As awesome as it would be on the ground, yeah. I don't see any way that they could make that connect in the air without a floating Tus. Using Nose's animation makes a lot more sense. Only two more days until we find out.
  9. I doubt it'll be that bad. ⌐_⌐ Without OD, pre-curse Arakune will still be pretty terrible.
  10. Speaking of OD... https://twitter.com/jiyunaJP/status/496481418122244096 https://twitter.com/jiyunaJP/status/496497762473504770 I may have chosen an awesome time to pick up Arakune. -snicker-
  11. Negative edging like Arakune, or like Carl? I've picked up negative edging on Arakune just fine, but I couldn't manage it as Carl in CP.
  12. Ok, that's fair. I've never played a character in a fighter with a pretzel motion (or the awful input for Carl's astral), so I often forget they exist. I'm a bit annoyed with vinum at the moment since the only two Relius challenges I haven't finished both involve 3C>Vinum (which comes out as Tus half the time ⌐_⌐). Is it useful as a wake up DP generally, or just against a few characters like Hakumen?
  13. And maybe add the old extend input for it? I may only be saying that because I suck at 2363214 inputs, and that motion seems like the worst possible input for a reversal. >_>
  14. I've never actually played a GG game before, and am thinking about a main for XRD. For playstyle, I like high pressure characters, and have a particular fondness for the downright weird styles (e.g. Arakune). Execution is a slight issue, but it's improving with time.
  15. When one scores a hit with j.2D (air to ground), is there a good way to confirm it into a combo? Last time I played another person, I managed to hit quite a bit with that move, but I wasn't able to follow it up. If there are no combo paths that start with j.2D, will it at least put Ignis in a good position to use safely Tus or perhaps Lyra to start pressure?
  16. Since the curse combos start with j.236C, is it intended to get into that with a typical C bug > D bug link, or are there other moves that lead into j.236C?
  17. Are there any good videos of this matchup? The only person I get to regularly play in person plays Terumi exclusively, and I can't seem to properly punish anything other than a blocked 6C. I didn't see any for Terumi in the video thread.
  18. A couple of other questions: 1) All of the pre-curse combos in the video from the first post still work in 1.1, right? 2) For the curse combos, shown here: Midscreen Versions j.236[cd] > 6]cd[ > c bug > d bug > 6c > 5c > 2cd > c bug > d bug j.236[c] > 6]c[ > c bug > 6c > 5cd > 2c > d bug Corner Versions j.236[cd] > 6]cd[ > c bug > d bug > 6c > 5c > 3cd > c bug > d bug j.236[c] > 6]c[ > c bug > 6c > 6cd > 2c > d bug After the d bug hits at the end do you look into another j.236[cd] and repeat? If not, they seem a bit short.
  19. I don't think I've ever seen an Arakune in the tournament videos I've watched, so could you elaborate on "more effort to win with"?
  20. This is a bit of a stupid question, but how difficult a character is Arakune in CP? I mained him in CT (for how little of it I played) and absolutely loved it. I switched to Mu in CS after not liking a lot of his CT->CS changes. In CP I've been learning Relius, but I've been getting an increasingly strong desire to pick up Ara as a sub again. Are there any decent tutorials on him out there in English (The only ones I've found so far are in Japanese)? EDIT: I'm dumb. Apparently my ability to check the first post of the discussion thread shuts off after midnight.
  21. Ok, I've got the BnB mostly down. The only thing issues persist for is trying to use a microdash between Leis and 5B, as it always seems to come out as 66B (more annoyingly, when I played Mu as a main, 66A always came out as 665A; I can't seem to win ._.; Exactly how fast is a "microdash"? I've never played a character who uses them. On another note, I found a combo that doesn't appear to be listed here. It's probably sub-optimal as hell, but I feel a bit accomplished just for finding something, so I'll list it: BC>6D>41236B>5B>5C>sj.B>j.C>j.236C>j.214B 3076 damage/22HG/2300IG
  22. Are there any other issues with Ragna for combos? He's my typical training dummy.
  23. I'm not sure what the protocol on double posting is (and I'm not certain editing the above post would actually flag the thread as having unread posts), but I didn't want to hijack the other Relius help thread just posted: I have the 9D>j.B>2C link more or less down. Now the problem seems to be that the 41236B after 6C will only hit the dummy once. Does that mean I'm inputting the command too early, or too late?
  24. Ok. I'll keep this in mind. If this doesn't do it, I'll record some attempts to see if anything more can be made of it from there. Thanks for the help.
  25. That particular difficulty arose while trying to do a few of Relius' challenges. The only Leis link that gives me trouble after about 20 minutes in training is 41236B>2C. If you'll indulge me a bit further, there are two more that I've had considerably more difficulty with: ...>3C>9D>falling j.B>2C>... I can never seem to get both the j.B and the 2C to combo consistently. It seems that either 9D > j.B blue beats, or j.B > 2C does. I've tried a handful of delays on the 3C>9D link, and the only ones that consistently get the three moves to sync up properly cause 3C>9D to blue beat. In about 45 minutes of training mode (Ranga as dummy), I've gotten the full combo to land twice. Is there anything on screen or in Relius' movement that I can use as a standard to help time this?
