  1. Didn't they also just nerf Hazama into the ground by taking away his main BnB? >_>
  2. Question about Noel/Mu (More speculation rather than story related, for reasons described below): When Ragna sacrificed his remaining human arm (And presumably the Idea Engine with it), did he both free Noel and destroy the Kusanagi unit inside her, or just the former? I.e. Can Noel still become Mu (But with free will, obviously)? If so, that would answer the question of how they're going to keep her as a character in the next game, assuming they don't just leave her in the character select and out of the story altogether, anyway.
  3. Q: What exactly is the timing on his wolf charges? I can't seem to finish 6 because I can never figure the timing on the 236B - 236A - 236B. I know to wait a bit for the first B-A, and I can do that one semi-regularly, but I can't seem to get it right on the A-B at the end, as Valk just barrels off to the left. If I change up the combo a bit I can do a more or less flawless 236B - 236B - 236A, but that doesn't seem to have enough hitstun to land the ending 214A. Additionally, whenever I do manage to luck out on the 236B - 236A - 236B setup, I still can't land Wolf j.C - j.B - 214A. Is it just a matter of pure speed on that last one, or am I missing some special timing?
  4. Wait, so that chart is real?
  5. /shrug Worth a shot at least. Also, I suppose "awesome" is a bad word to use. Still, I figure a large convention would at least attract a few players worlds better than the average person online or at a small local tournament.
  6. People going to Saboten: If anyone has a phone or camera that can do a web upload, would you kindly record the last few matches of the BB tourney for me? I can't go as I wanted (Fucking waste of $40 -.-), but I'd still very much like to see how the quarter-finals on up go. Mostly to see if a friend of mine is as good against awesome players as his ego says he is.
  7. An anime convention. I go to quite a few of them mostly because my entire circle are into anime. >_> I'm not terribly into anime but all of them so far come with a big ass games room, so I tend to just hang around there the entire time.
  8. There's going to be a CS tourney at Saboten-Con hosted by AZHP, if you're in the Phoenix area.
  9. Dittos in general are dumb. >.> I was really impressed to see Mu there at all though... As for Platinum, screw Hazama. We have a new best troll character.
  10. Ok, then I definitely remember you XD If you were the one who won that mirror match, I was rooting for you in the finals (Mostly because I hate Litchi, but still). >.>
  11. Yeah, just recently switched mains from Hakumen (Mu just felt more natural to me). And holy shit, you live in Tucson? >_> If you were at the recent AIAB tourney, I was the spectator in the grey shirt who probably asked way too many questions XD
  12. Any actual BB events coming together in the next month or so besides a few tournaments at anime/gaming conventions? I'm bored of my terrible network connection. >_>
  13. Beatrix would be best on the Chaos side, honestly. IX is my favorite FF and one of my only story complaints is that they shoehorned Beatrix onto the good side with a single half-hearted "Am I doing the right thing" soliloquy. What we saw in Burmecia and Cleyra was a cold-hearted monster who enjoyed killing and delighted in causing human (And rat thing) suffering. She should have been a villain all the way through, really.
  14. You don't need the RC? Hm, my timing must be a little off then; it seemed to have too much recovery time to cancel into a dash. I'll have to work on that.
  15. I'm a newly Mu main (Switched from Hakumen because her combos seem to just roll off my fingers naturally, unlike Hakumen, who I couldn't seem to nail down right), and I'm having a bit of trouble in that I don't quite grasp what exactly "oki" means. Are the combos listed supposed to be performed after an opponent is down, as the term okizeme seems to imply? Or is it to be done after the listed type of wakeup (Back roll, forward, emergency/neutral, etc.), as the list itself seems to imply?
  16. Try to change your mindset. Button mashing is typical of a person in a panicked or otherwise frantic mindset, and probably overthinking things as well. To try to combat that, learn your characters combos, and then practice at a slow pace to get familiar with reactions and blocking. Once you've got it down pat, you'll be out of that rushing mindset, and muscle memory and reaction time takes over from there.
  17. Possible combo to add to the rapid cancel/fatal section (Found it playing around in training, someone tell me if I'm late >_>): Fatal 6C - Furu no Tsurugi (fully charged) - RAPID - 66B - 5C - 2C - JC - j.C - JC - j.C - j.2C (4.1k)
  18. Ok, easy enough to memorize. Thanks, I suppose I'll just have to really utilize my memory and try to get all of them down then XD
  19. Where is Mu on this list? I understand Makoto hasn't been out long enough to judge well yet (I'm guessing, anyway), but what of Mu? Hasn't she been available long enough to collect enough data to make an estimate as to where on the list she belongs?
  20. Out of all of these combos, which can be considered her need-to-master BnBs? I've been looking for Mu BnBs for awhile now, and while combos abound, nobody really goes into which are the most important.
  21. I've now got the timing down for the falling j.2C down to memory. Sadly, due to a few awkwardly shaped grooves on my thumbs, the sj.2A is impossible (Did a normal j.2A on challenge mode, doesn't seem to work in training) until I can muster the money to buy a stick, which I'm planning on in a few months. Thanks for the help everyone, you've all been great. Much friendlier than any of the other forums I went to!
  22. I've now done through Challenge 7 on Hakumen (Working on 8), so I'm somewhat familiar with his BnB, but something seems different. For the people that suggest to watch Hakumen's knees: When you say "wait for them to stop bending", do you mean when they turn all the way inward, or afterward? Because his legs seem to bend in (To what would be a crouching stance on the ground) and then bend partially back outward in the course of about 1.5-2 seconds. Do I need to try to go for that in between (As I do in Challenge mode, though I'm guessing the timing there is different due to the need for absolute perfection with a CPU that techs at the earliest possible millisecond every time), or wait for the short period between a complete stop and the ground? Doing the challenge mode method doesn't seem to work as it should in training. I don't think I'll bug everyone too much longer; if I still can't get this after a few more posts I probably just need to heighten my reflexes/improve muscle memory.

  24. And after Enma hits, jump with 9, right? After the hit the dummy seems to fly off at a slight rightward angle, making just a straight jump ineffective. I was actually talking about SJCs and IADs in general, at any time, but this context is one of those. The blue beat always occurs to me after I do 2C after the j.2C.
  25. Hello everyone, I'm new here, mained Hakumen in CT (C Spammer >_>), and recently I've taken an interest in actually getting good with him, so I tried to learn these combos, but I've had a few problems, and figured asking here would be better than starting a separate thread. Foreknowledge, if applicable: I'm using a controller, primarily the D-pad since the PS3 analog stick is terribly loose and difficult to be precise with (Not that the d-pad is much better). First, does the 623AA have to be done from a distance? I've had quite a bit of trouble getting a training dummy to move around in response to the attack the same way all the videos show. I.e. they simply fly out of range so I can't go into a falling j.2C and continue the combo from there. I believe this may be because I've been starting off at melee range, but as I can't use my PS3 at the moment, I can't test this yet. Further, is there any kind of secret to IADs or SJCs, as needed by some of these combos? I've had an impossibly difficult time trying to land the latter on several challenges (Often succeeding purely on luck), and the timing for IADing doesn't seem to be very concrete at all. It seems to change every jump. Additionally, does a 2A or any other attack immediately following an IAD have to be input during the dash itself? When I do manage to get out an IAD, there's at least a half second of lag before I can attack, which puzzles me as it doesn't seem to happen in the videos I've watched. I know there is some trick to all of this, but so far it eludes me. Can anyone assist me? Thanks, ~ Shockna
