This is tons better, and I'm sure everyone who visits this thread will appreciate the change a lot.

The lime and cyan burn my eyes and I literally can't read them unless I highlight them

St1ckbug did the combo Toasty listed at least once. I'm positive on that. It's a super practical combo because it does good damage and ends in 3C for all of 2k Ignis meter.
-
Do you think it would work as a subsitute for airdash in jump-in mixup? Normally it's but j.D's momentum stop might make it so you can use it in place of airdash so it'd be If so, that'd be pretty powerful. EDIT: If anyone is lost on what I'm talking about, this video is slightly troll but explains really well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf4-gYnCgXM

I'm honestly really interested in using j.D's momentum stop for things. I think it has potential. Anyone found any particularly good uses for it besides the ones already mentioned?
-
Costs charge. Also requires them to be on the ground, so no damaging combos can end this way. I'm not gonna argue this too hard though. I'm not really qualified to debate Tsubaki anymore
-
oki in BB works like that unless you're litchi as a result, you need to change up your oki fairly often

Most of the time, when I use Val Lyra... the opponent dashes into my face

New info is good. Day 1 Relius notes, not so good. Put the neat matchup-specific stuff in the appropriate forum, where it can be found easily by people looking for it. Saying Led Ley owns Sword of Decimation doesn't do anyone any good if they can't find it in the Mu matchup thread.
-
This isn't anything huge, but it's still worth noting: -Ignis>Ice Swords [she beats them clean] -Ice Daggers>Ignis [she will lose, Ice Daggers are a god-tier projectile] -Yukikaze>Ignis [she's counterable for free, BE CAREFUL WHEN USING DUO BIOS ON JIN and reconsider doing it if he has meter to yukikaze]
-
Feels like the more I play Relius, the more I'm forced to understand you're not going to hit your opponent unless you can make them want to hit buttons. And you're not going to do that with normal gatling pressure. This is partially why Relius is hard to hit people with. He has bad mixup, yes, but he's a frametrap character. Fair enough, but making people want to hit buttons requires doing some pressure that's unsafe as shit, and that's a risk you need to take if you want to win with Relius. 5B>waaaaaaaait 6d> waiiiiiit 6C is a legit string. Is it free as shit to DP? Yeah. But will it make them want to hit buttons or jump out? Probably. You need to make them do that so you can hit them. Relius's pressure is practically about trolling the other person into killing themselves.
-
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit and fix those. God, I get sloppy when I write combo notation
-
That IS fair. Expecting people to be familiar is bad when the idea is to be beginner-friendly You want me to edit it so it's less confusing?
-
I just expected people to be familiar with the setup. And yes, it's a corner setup, but that doesn't make it any less important.
-
That video is good for showing what Relius can do, but I listed the combos I did for a reason. Your meter needs to be spent on pressure, corner carry, or kills. This means expensive combos aren't a priority; in fact, the opposite is true. Unless you're sending them all the way across the screen with your combo, you want it to be cheap so you can keep up Ignis pressure or have good okizeme after. Relius's pressure keeps people blocking for days but hits them much more rarely, so you will end up spending a /lot/ of meter on 6D and 2D to reset pressure and try different things to open them up or make them want to hit buttons. 236C>214C is some nice oki, but you can't do it unless you can spend for Val Tus.
-
That's just a worse version of the AD combo, though. It's much easier but gives less corner carry. Ideally, you want to do the IAD combo over this.
-
Worry about these. normals>236C>214A {Ignis unsummoned, midscreen} normals>6D dash>more normals>[3C] OR [236C>214A] {Ignis summoned, midscreen} 5B>6B>6C>214A>[(dash) 6B> j.B>dj.(B)C>j.236C>j.214B] OR [iAD j.(A)B8D>land j.B dj.(B)C>j.236C>j.214B] {Ignis summoned, midscreen} 5B>3C>6D>AD j.(A)B8D>land j.B dj.(B)C>j.236C>j.214B {Ignis summoned, midscreen} 5B>([5C(2)] OR [3C])>236C>214A>dash 6B>TK 236C>2C>6C>4D>3C>(236C no followup) {Corner} Note that 5C(2)>6C combos on crouching opponents.
-
3000 Ignis meter left is practically nothing, though 1 6D in pressure and you won't even be able to do the normal corner combo anymore
-
For 5b 236c rc 5b 2c 6c 214A, you don't need to 5B before the 2C>6C
-
I actually do this, too. If the distortion hits I'll sometimes intentionally overprorate the combo into ending for more mixup
-
The point is, if Ignis is about to break, you're going to have to either give up pressure and return to neutral to dismiss her safely, or risk getting blown up if your dismissal is read. Throwing is an inbetween option; you lose momentum and get slower regen if the throw is teched, but you get a safe return to neutral. If it isn't teched, you keep momentum and get a dismissal either during or after your combo. It's an inbetween option. Also, throw mixup is fucking good in BB. Throw invul/throw and TRM mixup are absolutely nasty. I don't disagree. Ignis is too valuable to risk losing in most pressure situations. However, I've seen plenty of good players get blown up by throw mixup. I wouldn't just say "good players break throws," because they don't break them all the time.
-
This doesn't matter during Duo Bios because the distortion always continues, no matter what. Also, if you're really low on Ignis meter (and I should note, I mean REALLY low), you may want to throw BECAUSE of the dismiss. Slow regen is bad, but if you really need to keep Ignis from breaking in pressure then throwing is a lower risk option that lets you dismiss her pretty safely regardless of whether the throw hits. Slow regen>>>broken Ignis.
-
True story: you can get a green grab during Duo Bios. Try grabbing inbetween two of the last three hits

The 6 from the 6D can be used as the first input of a dash, so doing 5B 6D6 should help.
