@Brice : About PS2 sticks. I don't know how long you want to wait until you get your stick, Brice, but I think we should get some asap. Heck, I'm thinking of maybe getting one on the internets or something like that. Also, got any new ideas for your stick artwork? Naw just a few friends that probably won't become regulars, but you never know. Also, can you update the Mashfest thread just to say that the tentative date(s) are April 22 and/or 23, and that LK will be there. We should probably also discuss this with the SF guys so we can make sure we can get the HQ to ourselves, it would be too crowded to have both communities there at the same time, especially if people from out of town show up. Once we confirm this and the date, we'll tell Toronto and somehow let ottawa know, maybe halifax too? I think some people over there play, but it's kinda far. So anyways, for games, $$ for BB, the rest is poverty (AH3, GG). About Marvel, I think we should have it in our event, but not announce it and keep it poverty, so the place doesn't get too crowded, but it's a game most of us also play, so we should probably have one for fun anyways. Yeah, LANETS, big video game tournament in Montreal, lasts the whole weekend. The street fighter guys have their event over there so they took their LCDs, 360s and Computer/recording equipment, or at least that's what I heard. But yeah, watching yourself is really awesome to see flaws, honestly, I was disappointed with myself. I thought, "eh, I drop so many combos, maybe I just need to work on my execution, the damage I'm missing out on is probably what's killing me. My neutral game is good enough." but oh shit bad habits, missed opportunities, bad use of meter, bad mindset heck. But yeah talking to an opponent and getting feedback is also great, which is something everyone should do more. But the best is really the combination. Get feedback, then go watch yourself and notice even more stuff. We'll have the setup next times so be sure to come

Woah turns out the meetup was freaking awesome. I think I became 2^8 times less free at this game after all the advice I got from Kaeru, and completely changing my play style in the process. Seriously, I went from 100% zoning to 90% rtsd and so far so good, so be afraid guys, I'll be taking your moneys next time (well, if I keep getting better). Honestly, in terms of getting better at BB, I think this meetup has been the most productive one ever. I don't think I've said it enough, but thanks, Kaeru. In other news... yooo who's up for Sunday? Last time I talked to Cranky he wasn't sure about giving us the wi-fi password, but that implies that the router stays there either way. Which means we could just use a cable. How can you be broke this early in the month? Are you going to show up in the following weeks lol? I'd lend you the entry fees if you feel like showing up anyways. Not sure Eb will show up and Brice will leave around the time I'll get there, so who's gonna commentate when I play, lol?

Alright stuff concerning tomorrow and Sunday's meetups. Tomorrow night, Cranky will come get the computer, 360s, and LCDs around 11 PM, so I think we'll end the meetup around that time, the CRTs will remain though. That said, Sunday the stuff won't be back, so I say we go with two Guilty Gear setups minimum and try to get people playing the game (maybe AH3 too ), and of course, BB as always, but just giving you all a heads up. I'm also guessing those SF players who leave their sticks will most likely be taking them to LANETS. Anyways, meetups are still happening, and should all go back to "normal" next week. @No: @Nolan : I think you might have missed this

And lol, remember, Brice is moving. @LK: so I imagine since it's to see family, and since our families are here too, I guess Easter Sunday isn't the best idea for an event. BB is still very alive over here, and GG is sort of growing (slowly, veeery slowly). Oh some of us don't really play marvel. @Montreal : Okay time to step up GG. List of people who I think would participate in a GG tourney off the top of my head and my flawed deduction skills : me, rhannmah, brice, steb, monster king, ntype. Maybes: Blade, shahied, bearblaster, airmaster? People who should stop playing marvel and learn GG : Nini. We finally got our recording equipment going in Montreal, so here are some vids of me getting blown up with commentary. These games are offline play, but my opponents are also netplayers so you may recognize them One thing I will say, before I get blown up by you guys too, is that I have a hard time changing my play style when I fight a different opponent (ex: I'll keep sending steins behind my opponent after playing against a hakumen). I also have the bad habit of continuing to input a combo after I drop it, for some reason. Aaand I sometimes input a jump instead of a dash/airdash, which leads me to drop easy pickups vs Tsubaki (Level5Chan), part 2 vs Bang (Kaeru), part 2 vs Makoto (Nini Heart), part 2

Lol I gotta admit I don't really know hazama that much. Characters I do know are those I subbed at some point or fought against A LOT, and I barely laid a finger on him. That said, I do know Mu, Tager, Lambda, Jin, Bang, Makoto, Arakune, Rachel, Hakumen, Ragna. The rest of the cast, I know their moves and neutral game, but damage and combos... =/. Carl though, I'm kinda clueless about his options at any point. But yeah it's good that you guys keep pointing out stuff like that. The more you know, the less chance you have of making a completely retarded statement. (and having it recorded)

Lol netplay. Nah I think I have to get used to calling out everything I see and stay focused on the match. I think the last set of Nini vs Kaeru, I was more into it. However, I do check out the shitty netplayer thread every now and then, like, when I'm waiting for a video to upload. Having said that...

Wut, how can you have trouble with that but not square-circle or triangle-X? or maybe your chars don't have any. Anyways, for the time I was trying it out on pad, I switched my hand config if I can call it like that and pressed the buttons with my fingers instead of using my thumb. But if not, Kirbster's gonna hate you if you do the following, but just use L1, R1, etc. and bind the various combinations to them. In other news, someone needs to change the background of the MTLBB channel. That watermark is kinda annoying but not enough for me to put he effort into finding a new pic. I may end up putting some weeaboo trolling shit if no one proposes an alternative (or until), because yeah, that watermark has been there way too long.

The beginning does seem a bit sped up. Oh and lol, I forgot about the last part of Nini vs Kaeru on Sunday, it's being uploaded atm. About the names, I thought it would be easier to identify the games that way, since something tells me that we're going to be playing the same people pretty often and having a good indication of who what when in the title isn't a bad idea. However I do agree it's kinda long. I get this impression with my posts too, I think if I post too much text in a single post people don't bother reading it and miss out on important information (because I keep my trolling outside the posts, usually).
