Nooo I keep forgetting to do it when I'm about to do it Also, obviously the one you found expired, but I found a lot of cheaper ones and am thinking about getting a second one. I'll do it tonight (if I don't forget, again). Oh shit sounds good. Try not to get huge bills this time -

I don't know but it sounds like next meetup, someone is going to get exposed. Hopefully the recording will work so we'll be able to immortalize this So yooo show up guys we gotta train that BB so we don't disappoint as hosts GG too @Kaeru :oh shiiiit your stick is going to have ps2 as well I completely forgot this is awesome. Yeah that sounds like an awesome plan I'll have to ask him about it, should be a win-win situation. We'll need to get commentating equipment though, but sounds like a great idea. Do you know if it requires any hardware on the computer? edit : I'll figure out streaming somehow -

No you didn't miss anything, just saying that we should let people know that in case they're in town a day early and feel like having casuals we'll be having a meetup like usual. Oh and nini was doing them combos in game. I had to abuse of his lack of matchup knowledge to win edit : I have to say it was really impressive to see nini get that grab bnb with the hop 5a j.a (I think that's what it is) pickup on the first try and do it consistently, without ever looking at the notation. -

Good so looks like it's going to be Friday then, lets plan for that and if ever there are adjustments to do, we'll be flexible. Yup we like to go all out over here That tour is going to be so much less sophisticated without you Anyways, meetup was cool, even though it was just Brice, Nini, and me. I'm guessing midterms will be over now so I'm hoping people start showing up more. Couldn't get the recording to work, I hope it'll be somehow fixed next time because there was nothing I could do about it (I tried), but we had some pretty good casuals. Nini's trolling also leveled up We even played some AH3, that game is fun guys, try it out next time, check this vid if you want to know what all characters BnBs look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuWfXCWFtC0 (gotta say though, I don't think those are the optimal/easiest BnBs to start with, but it still gives you a good idea, oh and scharl isn't included ). @Blade : can you update the Tournament thread saying that we'll probably open the HQ Thursday night for our regular meetup anyways, and that Friday even though the "event" starts at 7, we'll open much earlier. Well, unless Brice and Cranky are opposed to this, which would be surprising. -

HQ is open, so far there's me, Brice and Nini. Got Nini's Xbox so we'll record. -

No I think you misunderstood me lol, I meant to say that we'd have the event with LK one day and still have another day for fun with the other people travelling to here, if they feel like it, or just between ourselves. I think the best thing is to stay flexible and adjust to what people want lol, but I'm up for many things. edit : oh we'll open the HQ around 6 PM after picking up Nini I guess. -

Do you guys even read this thread? Anyways, I let Freezerburn and ImperialSport know through visitor messages, so far Freezerburn said he'd surely be able to make it. Nini, you do realize Vancouver is about as far as Europe from here, lol :P at least there aren't passport issues, but it's true that you never know @Kr3wman: Me and brice are ok with it. About the LK event, I dunno if we're too hype atm, but let's do both the ft5s and the gauntlet and have 2 days, maybe one at the HQ and one at foonzo. -

Yo I'll be coming by car give me your address, I'll pick you up and then probably drop you off. Srsly though, meetups are just more fun when you're there, the more the merrier. If you don't want to come though just say so. -

Nini I'll pay for you if you come, it's cheaper than the gas for the detour to go to Eb's (well not really but let's say it is). -

Brice says stop being broke and come to meetups, blade. I say : okay so I'll pick it up tomorrow on the way there. Do you prefer if I leave it at the HQ for you to pick it up or do you want me to leave it in your mailbox Sunday night? Or will Nini decide to come finally -

Last time I went (more than a month ago) they had a TV with super, but my guess is it won't have the DLC even if it's still there. So I heard you play stick ragna too huh? Maybe you could try out stick noel, unless they still have those weird CT loops, I don't think her execution requires complex inputs, but I say that just because I rarely see noel players drop their combos. Srsly though, Eb, can I borrow your BBCS tomorrow or totally impossible? -

THEY'RE ALREADY DEAD. Oh also, ranbats tomorrow, even if we're just 4. Because I said so. Poverty though. -

I think we should look into getting our own recording setup. This would be useful for MAT8 and following events so we might as well. I'll discuss this with Kaeru next meetup, but if anyone knows something about recording/streaming setups and stuff please let me know. I also think Foonzo is a possibility but first we should talk to them about it , even though they should be okay with it, and probably even happy. Venue fee might be higher, add that to the 10$ tournament fee that I'm okay with, and I hope people will show up anyways. I will disagree with Nini though about Foonzo being more accessible, though. Unless I want to park 15 minutes away, since there's a parking right next to the place, those coming by car are looking at additional costs here :S And yes, how else are the TVs going to get there. I don't know if they would let us reserve their head to head setups since those days are probably going to be good for business in general since it's Easter weekend, and MvC3&SSF4 are way more popular than BB over there. Foonzo has way more space than the HQ though, so if we do find a way to get everything to work and people show up, it would be preferable. tldr: let's go talk to the guys running foonzo, how about friday? I think at least me and Eb should be there. -

Aksys is selling stuff from their online store (like CS) where 100% of the profits go to japan. Why not buy it from there? Also, it comes with the OSTs, which I'd like, so I'm willing to pay for it Still though, we should borrow someone's copy for Sunday at least, so this is a quest to find a copy of BBCS. Or well, Eb will you be home on Sunday? I could just drop by your place on the way there and pick up your disk if you're willing to lend it to us. I'm gonna leave it at the HQ to motivate you to come @Brice : I already sent visitor messages to people from ottawa and halifax just to let them know we're doing something and LK is coming, and that we'll make a thread when we have details. 1-Eb specified a lot of stuff in the thread, but if people are coming from far we should probably do a bit more than only say, 7PM to midnight. I think we'll check with LK to see which day between Friday (which is off for everyone) and Saturday would be preferable for the event, but still open up the other day for casuals, MMs, hype, etc. Maybe even Thursday if we feel like it. I won't have any schoolwork to do so I'm up. Anyways, we'll decide for sure once we know if people are coming from far or not, just saying we're flexible. Also, it's going to be at MTLSFHQ. 2-5$ venue fee, BB price is being discussed lol, I say 5$ but idc. 3-BB, GG, MvC3, with a bit of mbaa,ah3,ssf4 on the side if people want to. 4-BB and maybe GG, price being discussed. I'm ready for AH3 casuals and maybe MMs, but I don't think we'll be enough for a tournament, you never know though. We could have some marvel going, but I don't want there to be too many people just for marvel so :S 5-LK, maybe people have heard of Vice Taicho and Nini Heart? Rest depends on if anyone else comes out. 6-La banquise is open 24h, so we could go for a poutine run after the event. Chances are the metro will be out of service at that time so we'll be dependent on cars, unless people want to do the 45 min walk. That said, I'm slightly opposing myself to going drinking somewhere, since we'll need some designated drivers and it'll be late anyways, and bars can't sell alcohol after 3 AM anyways or something like that. I mean, when we leave our weekly regular meetups it's usually past 12:30 so. We still have 5 weeks to discuss this, just remember, the HQ is not as downtown as foonzo, and WE won't have hotel rooms. -
2C is faster, I like this Also, j.2C at -1, I dunno what it is in CS1, but maybe that's why we're seeing it being used in videos. I can't wait to have safe pressure and mixups, with with on top of this, the nerf to IB. j.C having 4f landing recovery, does anyone know if is this also the case in CS1? As in, will we have to adjust to this? Thanks for posting this btw.

I think we should at least wait for some footage from Sunday. By the way, there are good chances we'll open early. Yay nolan, I wanna try my new tactics against you. -

I just want to record something where people have a reason to win, that doesn't imply additional fees, to have hype footage, increase our overall level. Also, I don't like to discuss who is better than who, since it this case it's more like "who knows their litchi matchup best" or whatever. I really liked what mtlsf did when they had a tournament for the last 2 spots on their 7v7, so maybe what we could do is have a mini tournament each Sunday meetup until the event (there are 5 Sundays left). The winner secures a spot, and can't participate in succeeding tournaments. Either that or ranbats, whatever is preferred. Or we could just discuss it and kill the hype in the womb. IMO, the best idea would be to have ranbats but then discuss it anyways. Who's coming Sunday? I have a mouse and little schoolwork to do. I will practice combos this weekend if I don't forget. Be afraid, be very afraid. @Kaeru : Sounds cool, I'll try that. -

Discuss? What is there to discuss? What we need are RESULTS. How does this sound : every meetup until the event, we have ranbats. The top 5 get to play in the FT5. Sorry I couldn't make it tonight, project debugging got real. We managed to "finish" about 30 minutes before the due date (aka now) and currently making the documentation. -

It can't be done, I'm pretty sure. Blarg not sure I'll make it tomorrow. Tonight at school while doing our project we ordered Chinese food. We figured, at 6$ the plate, it would take something like 6 to fill up 4 people or so, so we bought accordingly. Turns out they put their prices and sizes up but didn't update their menu, so we didn't even eat half (although I ate way too much anyways), like out of 18 packs there were 10 left so we asked a student association if we could use their refrigerator for the night. I may not be feeling too good right now, but at least I know I have another epic lunch and supper waiting for me tomorrow at school. [/slice of life] -

We could always get in touch with Foonzo, they might be up for hosting. But honestly, I'd be surprised if we were more than 30. Being at Foonzo implies carrying a lot of stuff and not having access to the recording equipment, so it's not something I realistically see happening until we grow/evolve a bit, but just a possibility to keep in mind. The map/art to Foonzo is so gldk. I might show up too. There will be because brice always has his copy of GGXXAC+ in his bag, but there probably won't be any PS2 sticks at the HQ. Waiting on Airmaster and Steb to show up I don't think anyone would travel that much just for a 5$ tourney either. However, we did it anyways when we went to Toronto and Ottawa for the experience, the hype, the road trip, the fun times, etc. Honestly, I don't expect many to show up, but if some people are hype like Unsanctifier, Asferty, Kumori, NeoRussel, ImperialSport were when they came for Nemesis 2, we might as well give people like this an opportunity to join in on the hype. That said, get hype I don't know, I've been giving it a bit of thought. With our current level, I think the chance of LK winning is REALLY high. That said, why have a tournament if we already know who will win? I mean, he didn't win FR, but unless something magical happens , we just don't have players on that level, nor can we play against players of that level IRL, so guaging our actual level is kind of hard. So maybe we aren't actually as bad as I think we are, and the tournament would be good competition for everyone, once we level up What I suggest, is just a hype special event where we go everyone vs LK in a best of one (ex: 20 v 1, where the result will probably end up being 1-19), a battle for honor, like I say, gotta rep that Montreal Exposed, just so we can record and commentate the whole thing. That way everyone has a chance to get blown up by LK at least once and being recorded. Of course, the best solution would probably be to discuss this with LK. Challenge accepted. After a bit of reflexion, out of the 9 playable female characters + 3 story-wise characters, my guess is either Tsubaki or Mu. Ken already suggested Tsubaki, so I'll bet on Mu then, plus she's my main. -

Please do, I downloaded it but I didn't get it to work, I might magically get it today though, even though I should be working on my project that's stopping me from showing up Thursday:psyduck: Isn't that what usually happens though? No one posts for a day, and then 2-5 people are on at the same time and talk to each other through the thread. Alright, never bought something on ebay, but I might as well, there's a first for everything. I'll do it sometime later today or tonight if I remember. And yeah I think I might show up for an hour on Thursday since I'll be going to uni by car. Wait some people in your rez play this game? Bring them to the next tourney, so we can take their moneys. (oh and bring them to the HQ to help out with the rent, but only if they're fun to hang out with ) Canada = worldwide ups shipping = 185$ for shipping = (thanks anyways) Lol I think we should do it more for the lulz than something serious, but yeah this would be a good idea. I think after the footage we'll get from this week, we could come up with hype moments, lol commentating and yeah. It's gotta have blade's signature combo though. Depending on how busy I'll be next week, I probably won't mind doing it, maybe you guys could just post youtube links with timestamps of things that could be included in the video, as visitor messages. I'm not particularly skilled at editing videos though, so if anyone feels like stepping up and doing something great I'd be happy to let them do it. Location as of now is MTLSFHQ, but we'll have to confirm this asap, 5$ venue fee, BB is 5$, other tournaments are free if we have any, I'll probably go get something good at Fairmount or Saint-Viateur bagels since it's really close the the HQ, they have awesome stuff. Money matches will be recorded and hyped up. Eb updated the Mashfest thread, but should we create a new thread since it's a slightly more special event? We will be creating a new thread for MAT8 though because I said so because it'll be big, so might as well. Go do the post in Toronto's thread. I'll go post on Imperial Sport's (Ottawa), Freezerburn (Ottawa) and Lythium's (Halifax) visitor messages since their communities don't have a thread. Updates: did the visitor messages, and Eb, we'll have to create a new thread for this event because I said so because because. -

I don't know that much about melty, but I think the game changed a lot with actress again since they added the 3 moon playstyles, and the character I feel like learning (Ries) is new to that version If you feel like learning GG though, there's this https://sites.google.com/site/ggxxaconline/setup I don't know how the netplay is though, it really depends on both players, their connections, firewalls etc. PS3 to PS2 does't sound easy. Never heard of it being done. Here's a thread http://shoryuken.com/f177/ps3-ps2-adapter-245518/ @Kr3wman : is there a way to get HnK on PC, I just feel like trying out the game at some point, people keep saying it's gdlk or something. If it's through an emulator, do you know which one is the best for that game? -

Yeah I remember. Let's try to get steb to come too, gotta play that GG on stick, delaying the homing pike while summoning fish is a real pain on pad. Heck just playing on pad is a pain after half an hour. And thanks Kaeru for the info, this is the sort of thing that makes posting stuff here great. I think I feel like learning melty eventually, maybe this summer, so I'll be patient as long as air/steb bring those sticks -

@Eb : http://www.justin.tv/teamsp00ky/videos and http://www.youtube.com/user/DSPStreetFighter#g/u couldn't find an archive of the side stream that had the animu games and tekken though. They might pop up eventually on youtube, I hope. And what do you mean by "A.C"? Metly Blood Act Cadenza? Guilty Gear XX Accent Core? Another game? Oh and I just meant that if we were to organize a Melty tournament, Montreal would be free. In GG at least we have Rhannmah. But then, we might even get exposed in BB. Gotta rep that Montreal Exposed, but not too much MMs are cool though, if people want to lose money (I'm up for AH3 MMs, maybe). But whatever, useless double post, what the heck am I even doing up at this hour I probably won't sleep 5 hours tonight.
