  1. Lol there will be. Definitely. As late as the place stays open, which should be at least past midnight, but I really can't tell for sure since they opened this week.
  2. The tournament is going to end around 6:30 PM I'm guessing. I'll probably stay as late as I can, can't give you an estimate on that though
  3. Yup, lol late answer no one ever checks this thread, might as well update it I'll try to be there around 9 AM to setup TVs stations etc. 11 AM opens I think, and then we're aiming for the tournament to start at 2 PM so we'll have our grand finals towards 6 PM on the stream. At least that's what I understood, blade knows better than me.
  4. Thanks for the fast answers! I've been tying out the GB combos. The Female one I can do no problem, but I wasn't able to do the male one, always dropped at the super... then I realized I was doing it wrong and forgot the 5B at the end:vbang:... Is there an easier way of inputting it than 2B63214B6C? Can't wait to try the frame traps against an opponent though
  5. What are examples of frame traps you can do with Mu, and are they character specific? Is there one that works against Bang's 5A? I keep reading I should use them to punish mashing, but I can't seem to find what they actually are specifically. Another thing I can't find, what's the optimal combo to do after a guard break? I'm guessing fully charged SoD 6B... but then what?
  6. Merry Christmas, Toronto. We finally uploaded the videos from last week's tournament, here are the finals : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VRE4BUg1_w rest is on the same youtube account.
  7. Sup I was just lurking the thread and came across this. Most of us from Montreal couldn't come to your tournament last week because we had exams, and the guy who could go (Brice), had planned on going with some SF guys, who ended up not going (something like the guy with the car couldn't come and they weren't able to rent one last minute, I'm not really sure about the details though)... bad timing I guess =/ Anyways, at least me and Brice are interested in this, especially if BBCS2 will be running. We'll see if anyone else in our community would be interested in coming, there might be a few. By the way, most of us are pad warriors, so would there be a way to use PS3 pads on the arcades? If not, I'm guessing that means it'll be time to make the transition to stick, it would have to be done eventually (we're not horrible, just not as used to it). Please give us more info when you guys can, if we're able to reserve stuff ahead of time, we'll be able to save some money :P On a side note, our community is coming along really nicely, we just had a sort of improvised tournament this Sunday with 19 people. No entry fee, the prize : a doughnut. We're all leveling up nicely and new people join us constantly. I guess this is how it is when a community of this kind is still young. So far, so good. Also, there's a pretty big SSF4 tournament in Montreal on January 8th (1000$ pot bonus to the winner so far o.O ) and we're having a BBCS1 side-tournament. I don't know if you some of you guys feel like making the trip, we'll definately be doing a lot of casuals. I went to T11, and if things haven't changed (and my memory could be wrong), I don't remember seeing a bang, litchi or makoto player, which we happen to have, so there could be at least some matchup experience to get. Videos from this weekend's tournament and casuals should be up this week so you guys will be able to judge our level so far. Holidays are almost here though, so incoming grinding. More info on that tournament here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10444-Montreal-Monthly-Blazblue-Mashfest and here http://shoryuken.com/f7/[major]mtlsf-nemesis-2-[jan-8th-2011-%40-montreal-qc]-$1000-bonus-team-sp00ky-confirmed-259977/ Looking forward to playing you guys in January, I really hope we'll be able to back our shit up this time. Btw, K2, you sound like someone who plays Rachel. Was it you that OCV'd us at T11?
  8. Est-ce que tu joue a BBCS sur PSN des fois? On fait des rooms de peeps de montreal de temps en temps fak ya pas trop de lag.

  9. Wow really liked the 6d omohikane 236d from the video, looks way more effective than 5d omohikane 5d 214d that I usually do. Got a new setup here, sorry if this one has already been post it, I looked and didn't see it, but you never know. xxx 6c, 5D, 6[D], dash, 6A(usually blocked), jump cancel forward (crossup) laser hits, 5B, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C, 214D xxx What's pretty good about this one is if your opponent is holding up-back to jump out, the air unblockable 6A hits, and since you're jump cancelling forward anyways you can go into w/e air combo. Even if they barrier, they still have to block the crossup. You also get to chose if you actually cross up or not by delaying the jump cancel. If they block the laser, replace 5B with either 2B or 6B (or just use 2B by default, it also works) you're in their face and they have blockstun so free mixup with steins around. Haven't tried it out against an offline opponent yet and there are a bunch of flaws (ex: opponent jumps after blocking 6A) in it so I don't know how effective it actually is, but it should be about as solid as the other 5D 6[D] setups (I hope). At least by using this once against an opponent, you sort of make the option of jumping out risky so it makes the other 5D 6[D] setups more effective.
  10. Yeah lol you guys showed me how much I have no idea how to play my litchi and makoto matchups. I'd like to play you again sometime, and you really should come to our saturday meetups if you're free.

  11. Well I was thinking about this a lot, and as much as I have no problem with plat and valk being banned, the patch is another issue. Let's say it's released on the 9th on both consoles and about half of us are like shiit finals must study no time for bbcs and the other half are like omg sweet patch fuck finals. Since the changes affect every character, not only the way to play them but also against them, it would be sad for those who got suddenly used to a whole set of changes to have to get un-used to them. However the other option would put pressure on those focusing on finals to play, which is something we definitely don't want. I don't really mind either way because my character is getting an additional jump cancel, an improvement to 236A, and losing the extremely high damage combos that I drop 2/3 times, so no real changes to gameplay, just new combos to learn. The question is : are 2 weeks enough for you guys to get used to the changes? This all becomes irrelevant if the patch doesn't come out so I guess it comes down to: let's wait and see. I just wanted to bring up the whole debate so people can post about this instead of platains/snow/scrubrice/etc.
  12. I'm ok with either, but I just think it would kind of suck for somebody who plays tager to have all his opponents switch to lambda for game 2... oh wait I'm actually fine with that.
  13. Wow I've been staring at this page for a while trying to think of something smart to say but I can't because you're right. However, your post is irrelevant in this thread. BAM. edit : oh shit so is this one... um... so it looks like we're going to be using SBO rules unless someone objects?
  14. Well since the last 2 tourneys were 1v1 and allowed character change, we might as well add this to the new stuff to try out. It would actually be pretty funny to have the same rules as SBO, we'd be like roleplaying people who are actually good at this game XD
  15. 2v2 sounds like fun change. Do you guys have an opinion on banning same characters? Might as well discuss it now.
  16. Sorry if this has been posted already, but couldn't find anything about it yet so... CH 2C IAD cross under > (6A / j.2C / 2B /2C) > whatever now there's no real advantage midscreen when using this in terms of damage, but you can bring your opponent closer to the corner, or if close enough get a corner loop started. However I'm not very good with j.2C dash 2B combos so I've only been able to get the loop going with the help of a rapid, dunno if you can do it without. It also looks cool. you in the corner : CH 2C > IAD > cross-under > j.2C > rapid > land dash > 2B > 6A > j.C j.2C > 2B > 6A > j.C > j.2C > 2B (2801) midscreen : CH 2C > IAD > cross-under > 6A > 6B > 6A > 6C > 214D whiff > dash > 6A > 6B > 5C > 6C > omohikane (4991, 3.3k before super) these were tested on ragna and aren't really optimised but are kind of hard because of the timing on 6A to allow a 6B juggle, but the IAD puts you at the right spot so the only hard part is really landing 6A correctly. fun : CH 2C > IAD > cross-under > j.2C (somewhat high) > cross-under again (rapid if too far) > dash > 2B > 6A > 6C > 214D whiff > dash > 6A > 6B > 5C > 6C > omohikane (4573)
