  1. Some random notes after playing Kiba: -Pumpkin usage makes him think twice. You can just wind the pumpkin towards whatever angle he tries to approach you and score a CH that can even lead into a nice combo. Pumpkin is our most useful tool in this MU. George doesn't help at all on neutral because he can easily kill him with j.C. Having a rod near you is also very good. Summon your two other poles across the screen, as it limitates his overall movement. -Don't try to AA as long as you don't know whether the Valk is going to bait it or not. Try to figure out his movement habits first. -He can bait our 2C with his wolf command grab that leads into delicious damage in the corner, it's not worth the risk. -Valk is able to transform into wolf after 6B's active frames. Prepare to block high because he will be airborne. Keep in mind that he could just land and hit with a low. He can also transform into wolf during 6C's startup for a nasty low/command throw setup
  2. The most stupid thing a Bang ever did when he mashed was hitting me out of my blockstrings with 2A, followed up with an Ashura. Learntomashproperly.
  3. That was some godlike stuff, haha.
  4. As long as frog is out, you are safe even when she does 4D. George will hit her before she can hit you. I haven't found anything else we could do, and 4D leads to massive damage with her back to the corner ... x)
  5. 4D wins now because it got projectile invul. It lost in CS2 because it was only invul "above the knees". edit: That just makes me realize that our meaty 5B won't work against all of her drives anymore.. edit2: Walking some pixel back after 3C and meaty 5B will make 4D whiff, thankfully.
  6. Because he can still 360A/720 us after we blocked it without IB. And I don't know about that, Tager seems to get in much more in CSEX. His new Sledge can really be a pain in the ass.
  7. Take it easy, these are just stats. You beat him anyway, ragequit or not.
  8. Yes you can. As long as he doesn't have meter you can also begin pressure. He can still backdash though.
  9. Summary Lambda is one of Rachel’s harder match-ups. Rachel doesn’t have many safe ways to summon. Patience is the key to win this MU. Lambda’s defense is still bad, make us of that and carry her to the corner as soon as you score a hit. She can’t do anything as long as she doesn’t have 50 meter to use her Calamity Sword (632146C) super. Fullscreen Being at fullscreen doesn’t benefit you. Lambda can punish all your summon attempts. The only time you can summon safely is when she uses Spike Chaser (214D(~C)). Your best bet is to get pumpkin out while trying to avoid the spike chaser. You can also try to stuff the spike chaser with your 5B because it has a projectile attribute. Lambda can easily CH 5D you if you keep stuffing 5B, so use it sparely. With pumpkin out, you can start approaching her. Pumpkin stuffs Swords, but disappears afterwards. This isn’t much of a drawback though because Lambda will be stuck in her long recovery after a sword so you can at least start to pressure or even combo her. Note: A summoned pumpkin on the ground will fly over Lambda’s 5D. You can also try to place some rods instead of summoning pumpkin to make Lambda think twice before using swords. Another good option is a winded (air) dash. With a winded air dash you are able to punish Lambdas recovery of 5D and 4D, a winded dash punishes a whiffed 6D. Mixing both up can make Lambda’s life a bit harder. The last option is to use Tempest Dahlia. This is very useful, punishes every D button press of Lambda and gives you enough time to dash to her and summon frog oki. The only time where it won’t work is when the sword is already hitting you some frames after the superflash or when she does Legacy Edge (236236D). Midscreen Lambdas normals are bad, but she has some ways to annoy you. IAD backwards j.2DD is going to hit you if you try to poke her, j.DD can bait you if you want to jump over j.2DD. Her air normals are easy to AA, but she can also bait it with j.2DD. Pressure Lambdas pressure and high-low mix-up is tricky to block. Out of any j.c-able (5A, 6A, 5B, 6B, 2C) normal she can go for TK crescent saber (j.214D) or TK crescent saber feint (j.214D~C). If you manage to block the crescent saber, Lambdas pressure ends. Be careful when she has 50 heat though. Most Lambdas will rapid cancel the crescent to go for a combo with either 5[C] or 5D. It’s not gapeless on block and you will get hit if you tried something like dash 2A. If Lambda goes for the crescent saber feint, she has more options. Crescent feint into 3C (low) Crescent feint into IAD j.X (high) Crescent feint into dash grab Her 4B(2) overhead is slow, but if spaced right the first hit of 4B will whiff and it becomes an instant overhead. Common set-ups are Sickle Storm (236D(~C)) dash 4B 5C (3-5 hits?) 4B If Lambda rushes in front of you with Act Parser Zwei (236A), she can bait a throw break attempt with her Gravity Seed (214X) and scores a fatal counter leading into big damage. You can prevent it with OS throw, but this opens you up for a TRM setup like 5A > throw. Some Lambdas will try stupid things like 3C 236D on block. Make sure to jump before 236D is summoned and punish her accordingly. Make sure you jump early enough not to get hit by 236D during the start-up of your jump. You can also punish a close Spike Chaser with 5B if you are fast enough. Rachel pressure Nothing special here. Just do what you always do. Just be aware that Lambdas 4B has foot attribute invul. Ending your blockstrings with 5CDC 236A, aside from being always a bad idea, can be punished by Lambda with 3C before your A lobelia hits. Lambda oki tips You can escape her 3C > Sickle Storm oki with a winded neutral tech and even punish the recovery of it. Lambda will eventually stop going for Sickle Storm if you keep wind teching. This also works with Act Parcer Zwei: Blade (236B) > 236D~C. She can still get oki if she baits your wind tech with 236D because you will tech right in front of the 236D. Character specific details Corner combo: 5B > 5CDC > 214A > 3C(3) > 236A > (dash) > 4B/6B > 5CC > (dash) > 3C(3) > 214C > 3C(1)~frog oki

  11. Reading kro_'s CT Rachel guide, if you haven't already, is one thing every Rachel player should do imo. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?7488-Rachel-Alucard-Guide-Not-Getting-Enough-Hate Combos and such are outdated for obvious reasons, but the zoning tips section is really helpful.
  12. Summary Noel isn't as scary as she was in CS2, but she can still be a treat. Midscreen 4,5k+ out of D-mash is gone, though mashing D like there's no tomorrow still works. Her ability to stagger pressure also got weaker, but is still good. The Haida loops is gone, that's a good thing especially for Rachel and her haida specific loop that did lots of damage and built lots of heat. Getting zoned hurts Noel in the long run, and she doesn't have much safe options to get out of the corner due to the lack of a meterless true reversal. Getting here there should be your priority. Fullscreen Noel can hit you fullscreen, punish your summons with Optic Barrel and gets momentum afterwards. She is most likely to use the C version if you are standing fullscreen away. Your best bet is to summon in the air where Optic Barrel can't hit you. If the Noel preemptively uses OpticC, feel free to IAD with wind to punish it. Clever Noels will start throwing Optic A to bait your winded IAD if you overdo it. Be careful with that. Also keep in mind that Noel has the fastest dash speed in the entire cast. Throwing out B or C Lobelias can be very risky if there is no pumpkin around. Midscreen Noel's main pokes are 2A and 5B. You can challenge both with 2A, but keep in mind Noel can 2D over it. Your best bet, if you really have to poke, is 5B though. You will score a 5B CH on 2D happy Noels that leads into an air combo. If the Noel jumps during your 5B, prepare to block. Both 6A and 6B are, like in almost every MU, also useful if she rushes towards you. Pressure Noel can stagger pressure very good. She will score many CHs on you if you push too much buttons. Her main stagger tools are 5A, 2A (,2B) and 2C, though 2C is weaker now (from +3 to +1 frame adv.) Normals that chain into her overhead: 2A, 5A, 6A, 5B, 5C I highly recommend that you don't block high immediately after you see her in midair. It could be a Muzzle Flitter (214A) that still leads into decent damage even midscreen. Be ready to block a cross-up 2D as long as she is point-blank. Things you can punish Muzzle Flitter whiff. Punish with 5C 3C on block. If Noel is point blank, punish with CH5B or 5C. If she isn't, either dash 5B or CH6B IB 2C puts her on -2. If she wants to resets pressure, you can score a CH with (dash) 5A or 2A. Blocked 2D. Punish with 5A. She only has 3 options (without RC) to avoid your 5A. Spring Raid (623D), Fenrir (632146D) and 4D. First two options are unsafe if blocked and no Noel will or should ever do that. If she does 4D, your 5A will whiff but she won't be able to hit you. Blocked Assault Through (214D). Punish with 5B. Blocked Fenrir (631246D): dash FC 5C Blocked/whiffed Bullet Storm (j.236236C): dash-in 5B, 5C or 6A. You have to hit Noel before she reaches the ground. Unfortunately, instant overheads don't work on her. You have to delay your j.A/j.B in order to hit. While this can be easily reacted to, fuzzy guard setups still work. Example: 5B jc 2D j.B jc j.A j.B j.C Fighting against a drive happy Noel isn't that big of a deal for Rachel. A meaty 5B on Noel's wakeup will beat 5D, 2D and 6D clean. Now that 4D has projectile invul, 5B won't work. But you can walk a bit backward before you do your meaty 5B in order to let her 4D whiff. She is still able to do her Fenrir super to hit you though. Stay alert when she has 50 heat. She can escape the corner with her CA and even punish you afterwards regarding of what you did. Two ways to deal with the CA is getting some space between you and Noel while george hits. Noel won't escape the corner this way. Another option is 3C because it hits on both sides. If Noel does her CA during 3C, you will hit her. Though she leaves the corner, you can easily bring her back with either a BBL combo or something like 3C 8D 5B j.C 2D j.2C 2A(w) dash under 5C(w)C.
  13. Ah yeah, 6A. I played against a Haku today, he was still able to hit me with his j.2C most of the time. It's easy against Valk now, but very hard against Haku.
  14. I could ask you the same question, you know.
  15. They only sell PS3 version for some reason. Just checked Amazon, it says "ready to dispatch in 1 - 2 months" lol. Btw Rele, I tortured myself with Rachel mirrors against Chiizu yesterday. Was as retarted as our mirrors, the more I play them the less I want to do it again.
  16. I just tried out the whole cast and only got it to work on Hakumen and Bang, I'm sure I didn't do anything wrong (like you can do something wrong with throw > astral lol). You can also do it on Arakune with 236A/B (w) > AH. Anyways, hello Valk general. :3
  17. I have a XBox I just need Extend and gold. V:

  19. The first one is our BnB in that situation. The second one gives slightly more damage but 5 less meter. You can do [...] air frog 1D 5CC 236C 236C (dash) 5B j.C [...] for slightly better damage and heat gain (100 more damage and 2 more heat), but it's harder to land so it's not really worth it. Hitting an opponent midscreen with 4 wind (and a good starter) doesn't happen very often though, but it's good to know we have a combo if that case ever happens. Which combo variant do you guys use for the new combo? [starter] 5B > j.C > 2D > jc > j.2C [lvl2] > j.214A > (delay) > 1D > 5CC > 236C > (frog hits) > (dash) > 214C > 5CC > pumpkin oki seems to be the most reliable combo midscreen In the corner I tend to do [starter] 5B > j.C > 2D > jc > j.2C [lvl2] > j.214A > (delay) > 1D > 5CC > 236C > (frog hits) > (dash) > 5CC > (dash) > 3C > 214C > 3C > frog oki
  20. Ok, thanks. Ever took a look at the Noel MU forums? Maybe we can add things they use. Sure we can fit all those informations in the summary, but it's a nice quick overview before we go into detail. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?13388-CSX-Noel-vs-Lambda edit: Btw is there really a skype group? If yes, can somebody invite me please? My skype name is sima-chan. (with the . )
  21. Nice to have a format for match-ups, but what exactly do you mean by Pressure? Pressure strings of [character] and what we can do to escape/punish?
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=G81QgPhyznA#t=373s 23 minutes of N-Otoko (Rachel) vs Taokaka and Rachel
  23. Dizzy doesn't play like Noel or Rachel at all. >: I tried to play May once but I'm so bad at charging.
  24. I believe this man speaks the truth. Is there a Rachel/Noel equivalent in GG?
