As a standard, you can worry less about Valkenhayn's lows and blocking Valk's mixup is somewhat easier because of the lack of lows. This is the short answer. This is the long answer however. Despite w[5A] not being a low anymore Valkenhayn can still find ways to hit you with a low. He could do w[5A] > 6DD > 2B, or more commonly, he could use w[5A] > 2D/3D > w[5C]. The point of the dash is to trick you into thinking that he will go high. w[5C] is also is a good confirm to hit with too as it goes into about 3.6k. The 2nd high in wolf form that you're referring to is w[j.C], which again, is a really strong confirm. So you can worry more about overheads, but you have to worry about the mixup as a whole since despite the lows, he still has the command grab, and human interchange mixups.

Yea definately. Thanks for pointing that out.

Rosen seems to have opened new and stronger? combo routes for us, being the 6D > j.C > dj.C and 6DD > human stuff. That'll make it a buff. Less blowback on 236A may go both ways I suppose. It helps us with getting to our opponent quicker with wolf cancels (spending less wolf meter at that) but it also reduces the corner carry. Guess it needs to be explored but I'll leave it where it is now. Dreize if your list is going from strongest to weakest, for me S tier would be Hima > Zekuso > Masashi. You can disregard this if it was in no particular order however.

I know. I didn't assume in the slightest that you'll use it. It's more like, I'm just giving some friendly advice/critique and it's open for discussion y'know. Not only to you, but to try and benefit the others if possible. I should've made myself more explicit though.

Got it down. I can't believe I also forgot to add the fact that Valkenhayn's overall damage and HG has decreased, being an obvious nerf (Decreased HG being universal however). I've changed the first post. I've now divided his changes into buffs and nerfs. I figure that's easier to scout. I find it interesting that you bring this up. I actually don't disagree with this.

Can't really comment since I have nothing to say, not that there is anything wrong with what you've said, but I don't experiment much with 214A > pressure stuff to award you with any light. I can however comment on this: It was cool, but do you really want to hit with that super? You're spending 50 heat just to get j.CC > j.214B followup unlike Relius and Rachel who can do much more from their DDs. That's 2.1k you're dealing, whereas if you got them to block it, you're bound to get a much stronger confirm. Heck even 6A is better than hitting with the blade super first now. What I'm saying is that I wouldn't want to create ambigious setups where they'd have to guess block, I would WANT them to block. So knockdown/6C > blade super is fine with me. Make them block and get hit if possible, or force them to waste 50 heat on CA, and good reads could even lead to baiting that and getting a better confirm in! Of course, there are exceptions, such as if you're going for the kill, or if a better combo can be found. Of course, again, I'm not saying you shouldn't do it.

You are probably right. Ocassionally I feel that my knowledge on Valk is inadequate. Am I the only one that gives credit to Uma no Hone? And I'm not saying this because he's the first ranked Valk as that doesn't necessarily mean they are better. Masashi is bound to be good anyway because he's surrounded by a lot of other good players (Dora and Oboron for example). On a side note, iirc I haven't seen anyone try to bait his CAs as he uses them almost immediately when he's put in blockstun. 3/1 Akihabara Leisureland Potofu (VK) vs Taruma (RG) Yu (AZ) vs Potofu (VK) RYO (RE) vs Potofu (VK) Kameria (HK) vs Potofu (VK)

Jamuwooooooooooooooooooooooo. No seriously I was wondering when he'd show up. Play was kinda average though

Remember TD 6X isn't charge cancellable, unless you're referring to watching out for charge cancels after the options Tsubaki has after 6A, which I feel is the case. (Watch for 6A > 5C charge cancel for instance) However, if that is the case, that can be applied to the rest of her normals. It just depends on how alert you are and how good you are with reacting.

Dw I'm not blaming you aha! No need to apologise you're not at fault!

Was wondering when this'll pop up. Seeing that has made me question a particular corner combo however. 5BB > 5CC > 22D > 6C > j.D > j.C > 5C > 2CC > 236C > 5A > 5C > 2C > 236B > 214B > 22B does 3.1k, but if you use the CT route you're only adding 400 damage. With the heat gain battered I wouldn't opt for the CT route. I'll still keep them both there however because the CT combo seems easier, but for those who are more comfortable with Tsubaki's combos, I would advise to save the 25 heat for something better. (Please bear in mind I'm not saying do not use the CT route)

Valkenhayn's j.C is not wolf cancellable, and I can assist you with the matchup if you'd like. Totsuka may be risky but having a lot of steins out definitely hinders my movement and my pressure capabilities, especially since the lasers still fire when you hit Mu. Next he's gonna say he can IB 720 Jin out of the 2nd hit of 5B.
-
I wouldn't advise using 2D in neutral even if Valk is magged. Valk can easily 7C/4C it on reaction and then punish him. However, that changes if Valk is out of wolf meter as it becomes difficult for valk to get away or attempt to punish it. You troll.

Added damage calculator to the Tsubaki changes thread. It's now in the first post if anyone is interested in using it. Thanks for the reminder Surfeit, and thanks for linking it Errol.
