Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX FT5/FT10 Exhibition Thread
Alpha152 replied to Setsuna's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Name: Delta PSN ID: FKUDelta Main/Sub: Asuna Availability: M/T/TR Twitter: @OtakuDelta I'm going first but I'd still like to participate in the future if possible! -
For future reference you're better off contacting the people that organize the events, rather than the owner/people that work there as their info might possibly be out of date or wrong. The person you spoke to was probably thinking of the anime casuals that Nostalgic used to run every other Fri., though I don't know if that's still being run anymore however there is an event tomorrow for sure.

A reminder that there will be an event at UGC this coming Saturday! http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10182-january-24th-2015-arc-divide-renewal-gg-xrd-bbcp-uniel-p4u2-and-more-ugc-in-north-hollywood-ca/

No updates yet, as soon as Watson relocates I'll update the OP. Until then yes people should go to wherever they can to get their fix whether it be UGC or casuals at someone's place etc. Enjoy the holidays everyone!
-
Due to the recent announcement of Super Arcade changing locations, this coming event will unfortunately be cancelled until further notice. If Watson is able to secure a new location by the next event we will resume with our bi-weekly schedule. Whenever the next event is, I still plan on running the Red vs White.
-
Updated the OP for the last event of the year!
-
Since not everyone will have a copy of JP Xrd, please post up if you can provide a set up!
-
Hey whimsee! We have some casuals stations throughout the day where you can play against people and if you need a stick/controller, most people are more than willing to let you borrow one. In the worst case, the arcade can lend you one too if need be.
-
Are there plans for anything special on Friday (JP v US, team tourney, etc) or is Copabanana the yearly thing?
-
Yup, same schedule.
-
I already registered but only signed up for Persona, is it still possible to pre-reg for GG/BB?
-
Numakie, I can run the 2nd stream for you when you have a match like I did this time if Binkley is not here, but the more people we can get to help out the better. If we want to finish all 7 games on a timely manner from now on we need people to help out! And huge shout outs and thanks to Shtkn and Vynnara because they've always been helping me out run brackets when I'm busy with a match.

After talking to people tonight, I've found better solutions then what was offered previously and would like to try to implicate this instead. The previous games that were free (BB/GG as well as possibly VSav and Melty) will be $1 tournies now, and the games that are $3 will remain the same. As for tournament times I will try to go back to hour and a half or one hour blocks because running multiple games at once is more of a problem with us since there is so much player overlap between games. In addition we now have a secondary stream so games aren't forced to compete with each other to get stream time. This will definitely help with running all 7 games. I apologize to the people inconvenienced by the prior changes that weren't implemented and I hope this format works out for the better.
-
My wording was poor there, I didn't mean to imply the event was unsuccessful because top players specifically were not attending, but in general players have have lost interest in the event because of the problems. This is the best solution that was offered, but as I mentioned I would like to talk about it to everyone in person. The schedule for tomorrow will be unchanged, but from there on something must be changed.
-
I would like to get a consensus about this tomorrow. I will gather everyone up once most of the people are there to discuss this. There are two major conflicting views, and while I personally agree with that what we had going was good it was evident not everyone felt that way.
-
I will ask people tomorrow which they would like. For tomorrow we will use the previous format, unless enough people decide otherwise.
-
That is not the general consensus, otherwise players would have not stopped coming. There have been multiple complaints about there being too many games and not enough time in the event for casuals because of it. With this format it allows each game more time. Either way of having the old format or the new one, there will always be unhappy people. Free tournaments have not only caused players to lack urgency when reporting to their games and going out to dinner when they're needed for a game, but it's caused people who actively play the games to not come solely because there is no entry fee, and thus no prize involved. $5 is the standard for most locals and even majors so that is why it was raised $2. If you want to raise interest for a game or try out a game you haven't played, casuals exist for that. An event isn't successful when your top players in the region start to not attend and instead have casuals/meet up somewhere else, and that's the case here so something had to change.
-
The front page is not fully updated, but the entry and venue are correct. I'm going to update it but still going through feedback/replies atm. We only need consoles, monitors/HDMI cables are already provided by Super.
-
Due to complaints about length of this event, some games have unfortunately been omitted from the tourney line up. We'll see how things go but as for the games that aren't included in the line up, we will have more stations from now on so please bring setups for the games you would like to play in case in case we don't have enough set ups. Entry fee for games have been increased to $5 as well. EDIT: This solution isn't ideal, but here is another alternative. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sd40vp Please leave feedback/thoughts
-
Yup, that's correct. That'll be the schedule until Xrd hits.
-
Glad you enjoyed your time here! Unless it conflicts with a major or any other big event, our schedule is always bi-weekly. In the case of such conflicts, that date will be skipped and the bi-weekly schedule is maintained.
-
Woops venue time somehow got removed, Super Arcade opens up at 12:00PM so feel free to come early.
-
Ya Binkley, the stream order was something I forgot to mention to you before hand. I'll update the OP to reflect that. If I'm busy playing a match Shtkn, Chupacabra, Vynnara and various other people (whom I'm very thankful to for always helping out) help me so that should not be a problem. And for stream matches I usually have them queued up. As for UNIEL commentators, and other games in general I agree we need a few more people willing to commentate. For UNIEL it's usually BrkrDave, LPT, or SamiFish but since none of them were there we had no commentators unfortunately. On a separate note, we need people to bring consoles! With most new games being the downloaded version, it makes it very hard to switch around set ups and still have the proper amount to run the tournies. If you have a copy of any game (GG/BB/P4/UNIEL/SG) please try to bring one. Even if there is enough for tournament use, we have extra space in the back to make casual setups. Please bring one!
