That's not quite what I'm asking this time: I'm asking how bright the lightbulb is compared to the others, not how it works. I was just trying to get something of a more detailed end-user thoughts about the quality, beyond "It's good." Is the CP compressed sounding or lacking dynamic range? Are the highs rolled off in the game compared to the CD? ETC. I'd just like to know what to expect before importing a CD from Japan, and whether or not it's really worth it. Understanding how digital sound works doesn't really help with that.

I was hoping for something more specific, not conceptual. That's kinda like saying "using these florescent bulbs will save power!" without actually including the wattage. But thank you. Also, I thought Grooveshark just ripped Audio from Youtube. I guess not?
-
So, I'll ask directly: What's the difference in sound quality between the Chronopantasma CD, the music in game, and streaming off of youtube? And, as a side question, what's the technical data on the CD music tracks, like bit rate and such? Given the number of tracks on each CD, I'm wondering if they just crammed a bunch of MP3's onto the CD and called it a day. I've seen that before.
-
Maybe I'll grab the CD then; honestly I've been listening to YouTube which isn't exactly good quality (even with those new "lossless" tracks someone posted.
-
So, how good was the mastering of the Chronophantasma CD then? A 4/10?

Out of curiosity, what is it that makes the White Album so good (and why don't we see more of it?) This isn't the first time I've heard of the White Album. I'm genuinely curious.

Southern New Hampshire: And we're all alone. There is no one here besides us.

I wish, but I have work, as always. -
Yes, Tager. The standard, all around counter to Nu. This patch might be worth it for that alone.

I thought I posted here two days ago, but apparently not. So, I asked the game shop; they said no. Which means...well, we have to find somewhere else. If anyone here goes to a University, you can almost certainly start a club and get a room for free; that's how it worked at Virginia Tech. -
The main issue really is the implementation; as eeveryone has said, the characters have become a bit flat. Sytem mechanics won't help that.

Well, still nothing from everyone else, so I'll have to assume this is a no-go. I'm going to try to talk to my local (board) game shop and see if they'll let us do something in their shop. It's small though, and not really meant for board games. it's also just outside of Manchester too, so it's a longer drive. -

And that is tomorrow! So, who else is up? We need to know now so we can plan! -
May I point out something: Setting the AI to the highest level really isn't the best way to start if you're learning combos and what not. Rather, playing the AI is best for practicing hit confirms and repetition once you can do the combo "most of the time" in practice mode and start getting bored. If your problem is getting too excited in a match, then that's just an issue of experience. Play the computer; you can gradually crank it up in training mode. After awhile you'll get used to it and will choke less. (Although high stakes always give the possibility of a choke.) If your problem is combo difficulty, make sure your character isn't too hard to play, and just keep at it; the combos in fights tend to look deceptively easy. (Unless it's skull girls, in which case BnBs look deceptively hard.)

1 Week; so, let's do a roll call to see if we're still thinking about meeting up. Also, I think they're a game store in Nashua called Myriad games that might let us use a space if a person's apartment/home is unattainable. -

I think this is mainly gearing up to be an 18+ meeting though - maybe even 21+ if alcohol is involved. Unless you're in college? -

I'm good for Thursday, March 19th. -

As long as it's not Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, I can make it; Wednesday and Thursday is the best for me though. -

It's changed quite a bit since then, thanks to the PC release and Endless Beta. It still has issues, although I found combo timing to be lax, if anything. -

Nope! I got enough games already, and I've already played someone else's copy a bit. Didn't like it much. -

Yep; Blazblue. Haven't touched it in awhile since I'm not a netplayer; I could try seeing how netplay works with some local players. (I have a great hatred of lag, whether I'm winning or not. Plus, netplay is so impersonal. I wish the netcode was more like Skull Girls.) Any skull girls players here? -

Okay, that's another one. Now we just need a date and location. -
It was more awkward than anything. You suddenly had to jam 22D in middle of combos just to do a standard combo. Before she was a straightforward drive/special character that swapped good zoning for hard execution. Suddenly, she became quite a bit more technical for no good reason. People who played her before didn't like that. It would be like giving Ragna a ton of links like Hakumen, or something like Ratchel's drive, to combo. Of course, plenty of people who didn't like Nu originally suddenly warmed up to her. But, you didn't like here in the first place, did you now? Doesn't really count, does it?
-
But that begs the question "Why?" They can't be completely oblivious. They've been working on the game for years and video game fans, god knows, never shut up.

I don't think we've rescheduled anything after last week got canceled. Airk might be willing to come, but Salem is far for him. Aside from that Vyers and that other guy have expressed interest in going.
