  1. Is it possible to turn auto-spectating? I don't always want to watch the next match immediately after I've played.
  2. Eh, working the entire time. I'm doomed to always miss these events.
  3. So, Sol is going to beat Ragna black and blue, but don't worry! Someone will set up a time loop and let Ragna get his arse kicked continuously until some random chick saves his behind. Either that, or he'll beat Sol on his own and then Justice will horn shank him from behind so she can do plot, because, when it counts, Ragna is not allowed to win on his own, ever.
  4. As someone who played Sho; God Darn it.
  5. Try Chipp; he can teleport! The game mentions that this can be really easy or hard depending on your character.
  6. Mission 24: Anyone know how that throw works? The Blitzshield is one thing, but 90% of the time the throw doesn't come out. The window to land that throw seems to be odd. Edit: Got it with the help of Turbo. At least I got it.
  7. Hm, the problem with the argument claiming that 2F reversals is good is that it is fatally non-specific. If having a shorter, more difficult, time-frame is good, why not have a 1F window? Or would even 3F be short enough? What's a good length? To take the argument to the logical extreme, why not have reversal input window less than a frame? Having timings under 1F generally goes against FG design, but it's not impossible. What's the shortest time possible for the PS3 to reliably detect? We could have 1 ms (~1/16th of a frame) reversal frames, would that make the game more fun, better? If not, why? If near infinitely short reversal frames are not good, that would be there is a finite optimal value somewhere that would be perfect. What is this value and what is the argument that proves it is optimal? Until you can provide that, this argument will go nowhere.
  8. Library mode mentions that they made an exoskeleton for her during the weapons development program. That, and what kind of prison fires missiles and has rocket boosters?
  9. Libraria? Where did you get that one from? And While Ariel could be a Valentine, I have one problem with that: It would mean she likely predated the original Valentine, which feels a bit too convenient to introduce now. I think she'll end up being like the imperator from Blazblue; later down the line she'll reveal herself as the real villain and attack.
  10. What's the difference between that and blocking normally?
  11. Doesn't Bedman refer to Ariel as the "Mother," abet indirectly? Also, anyone notice the "I'M FALLING!" From when the castle started to fall? If they bring Aria back, I want her to be in Gear form. Then Mr. Virgin Sol can finally get the tail he needs.
  12. That's tiring. Honestly I'm better at Bullet Hell Shumps than fighting games, and that zone your describing is both very fun and very tiring. Having used that hyper-focus before on dodging hundreds of bullets, I can tell you that I don't want to have to use that same level of effort in order to simply wake-up reversal because I'd only be able to play one, maybe two, matches, before having to take a break.
  13. Hm, anyone else having issues with BnB combos? This is hardly my first fighting game; I've played Blazblue, P4A, Skullgirls, and so on. But with that in mind, is it me, or are Chipp's BnB's are a bit abnormally hard to perform? Especially to hit confirm them, it seems.
  14. Well said, and to add to that: An example of overly easy reversals are Persona 4 reversals! The reason why has nothing to do with buffer frames either; it's because it's done with a two-button command. This completely changes the game because now you can block AND reversal and the same time! Traditionally, you have to choose one or the other, and if you pick the wrong time to reversal, you'll simply stop blocking. By mashing Two button reversals you can be sure to get one out ASAP while still being safe! Combine that with the fact that everyone has a reversal, the game turns into "Invincible Reversal Guessing: The game!" Is the person your fighting mashing reversal? If you drop the combo will you eat a "Big Gamble" into "Ziodyne?" (Come on, what the heck?) If you go for a frame trap, will they reversal instead? Good luck on Okizeme if you don't have a character with moves that safe against wakeup reversals! Guilty Gear does not have this issue, and increasing the buffer time would not cause it. Ultimately, you have to commit to reversals and not everyone has them by design.
  15. So, anyone feel like a game of "Guess The plot developments based on Blazblue?"
  16. I disagree. Turn-based games aren't quite the same; you don't have that element of reaction. For me, "operating the character" isn't fun because I spent 5 hours practicing one obnoxious combo; it's being able to quickly identify what the opponent is doing and react accordingly. I like maneuvering them fluently; the difficulty of that inputs does not make it fun. For example, my favorite type of one player games are shumps, like Touhou 7 (Village of Lost Souls Attack), Jamestown (Conquistador/Final Boss), and Ikaruga (Chapter 3; part 2) I find that frantically smacking around a joystick to navigating a near-impossible wall of bullets coming at high speeds, playing at the edge of your notion and mind, is exhilarating beyond all else. The controls are dead simple. A joy-stick to move, a button to attack, and another one or two for bombs or miscellaneous mechanics. The design of the game itself makes piloting fun. That's part of my I like fighters. It can give me the same feeling, but in a match against another person. Deftly maneuvering through the opponents attacks and blocking is fun like nothing else. Hard to execute mechanics don't make it fun.
  17. I would like to see a video confirming this.
  18. Hm, Justice before had armor. Apparently they took away her armor. It doesn't explain why she was so big though; maybe the conclave was compensating for something? Also, "The Colony" is where all the Japanese live. They apparently have some kind of magical Chi trait.
  19. That doesn't sound like a bad idea; the Holidays are a bit hectic. I live in Bedford by the Manchester line if anyone needs a ride. I'll throw this out now: I'll suggest we try to aim for a meet-up sometime during Monday-Thursday since I work Friday-Sunday evenings.
  20. To me, it's not nearly as bad as "Two Button Reversals" in P4A. The reversals in that game made Wakeup annoying
  21. Oh, and to add more one thing to that! Sol = Freddie Mercury more so than ever now!
  22. I figured something out!
  23. Fuzzy Blocking! Vs Millia's 2nd mission mentions this. It's a bit confusing though...does it mean fuzzy block in the sense that the ring hits you if you block high?
  24. Framingham is a bit far if you live in New Hampshire (and I can't attend that because of work), so we still need a proper event for New Hampshire.
  25. Right. I posted in the brain box thread since some of those guys might be in Northern Mass. Work the night shift on the weekends, so it would be difficult, though not necessarily impossible, for me to attend Saturday and Sunday, depending on the times.
