  1. That would be my roommate. I have this roommate. He's an Ex-Varsity Wrestler. Big, loud, guy. He's the kind that is almost constantly with friends, and if he's not, he's bugging one of my other roommates, quite loudly, to hang out with him. They like watching sports, making a mess of the kitchen, working out, getting drunk, or playing Call of Duty. He's Brodude. Bizarrely enough, he has a Wii. He's not the kind you would guess so, but he does. And he loves playing Super Smash Bros Brawl, a lot. A LOT. And he's fairly loud when he plays it: "OH I JUST RAPED YOU! HOW YOU LIKE THAT?! F*&@*$( YOU NI*)(*&*)( FOR KILLING ME" and so on. I can't play with him because he manages to ruin the game. It's not fun playing with someone who is constantly shouting in your ear and insulting other players. Now, the Game Club that my University has, they're great! They love Super Smash Bros, and even had a tournament. They're fun to play! They nice, calm, and very sociable. And strangely enough, he anyone here was to go out to a tourney, it would be the nice game club group.
  2. Wait. Street Fighter X Tekken got in? What did that patch do?!
  3. To be fair, Netcode is a vital gameplay element for many people. It is getting hot in here though.
  4. Ragna's a big boy now.
  5. Well, I can play an online match with a specific person in CSE and it be completely unplayable, then go to Skull Girls and have a great time with the same person. It can be done better, and then I can go random on GGPO on my laptop and get near flawless games, (if only I could get GGPO to start a match reliably.) Quality exists as a spectrum; it's not quantized. There is no: This is bad, this is good. There's bad, kinda bad, kinda good, etc, on a sliding scale here. All because BB's netcode isn't the worst and can work for some players fine doesn't mean that it isn't the best and that it can't be improved. And if it can be reasonably improved, which I think Skull Girls proves, then they probably should. It's also worth remembering that not everyone has access to reasonably priced high speed access, if they have access to any at all. For instance, my Grandfather in New Hampshire has been angrily stuck on dial-up for years because his cable/satellite provider, last time I checked, didn't offer high speed internet where he lived. Not that you can play a fighter with dial up, but you get the point; location affects what you can get. Where I live, I'm stuck with freak'in Comcast, which is notorious. On top of that, I'm a poor college student, not only can I not really afford to be spending much more on internet just to play BB online (I'm already forced to be super frugal usually; only just got Extend a few weeks ago because it was on sale under $20), but I live in a college apartment complex with 3 other roommates and their game consoles and a bunch of other internet addicted students in the other apartments. With Comcast. Would you like to know what that can do to my connection? First, I HAVE to connect wireless. I've tried moving my router into my room and doing an ethernet connection. Not only did this strangely not really help much, but not all my roommates could get a signal. So back to the center of the apartment it goes. Then let's wait till they start using their consoles to watch or play games, and then let all my neighbors do the same- for remember this is Comcast and they overbook so speeds at peak hours can be severely retarded, and ugh! Yet, even with all that, I can still get good matches on usually GGPO, and Skull Girls works fairly well. Much better than BB. And I'll be there are a lot of people in a similar position as myself where they have decent enough connection to play online games, but they need just enough extra assistance with netcode, such as what GGPO provides, to make it work for fighting games. So simply saying that someone should "buy a better connection" is silly. They very well may not be able to reasonably buy better internet, and their connection may be capable of playing games with little or no delay depending on the type of netcode used, such as GGPO proves in my case. I have had lagless games, thanks to GGPO's rollback features, on both my computer and in Skull girls, playing random people. I'd like to have that in BlazBlue without having to move to another home and paying $100 a month in internet.
  6. This is turning into the discussion about Mu and Nu all over again.
  7. To be fair, they need to know in advance to make the character, right? I'm betting it's the golden mech.
  8. No one has fought the secret boss yet? Hm. I'm willing to bet it depends on the character you play.
  9. ..YEEES. We need something like an Ultraman Bang, or something humorously appropriate. Platinum's evil twin, here we come!
  10. Not exactly what I mean. Let's say you have full health, and your opponent is a jab away from death. Comebacks do happen, but that would be an amazing comeback. Couldn't you drag things out for 10 or 20 seconds before finishing them off?
  11. Out of curiosity, what if you OD at the beginning of a match, and thrash your opponent? What's to stop you from ceasing your attack with them at 1hp so that you can draw out the round to recharge your burst?
  12. Wow, this is really buggy. Glad I didn't pick this up when it came out.
  13. IT WILL BE ENGRAVED UPON YOUR SOUL.
  14. http://www.gog.com/gamecard/guilty_gear_x2_reload As part of GOG's holiday deals, the older PC Guilty Gears can be had more a measly $3.00 each. Granted, PSN has Accent Core +, soon to be +R, for $15. What would you like to do?
  15. I was just wondering what possible bonuses boss characters could possibly get, such as Nu or ragna. wasn't really speaking clearly.
  16. Hm, Overdrives get access to gold burst?
  17. Reminds me of the SO3 super boss version.
  18. Aw. I'll have to go get him then.
  19. Speaking of which, were is our Balder? I feel he should be popping up right about now.
  20. Yep, exactly what I was thinking. Bit of a mix of the original and the Star Ocean 3 one. Dear god, if she doesn't have a lenneth pallate.
  21. We have translators?
  22. Prior to this, the post times were all messed up and some computers couldn't display threads, as I reported earlier. Could still post though.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMeh1lODR0s&feature=BFa&list=PLCQQND2CK9hZsD3X6KAA3ZgkXppjLKBK0 Here's a match.
