  1. not yomi, you're just doing the string and if 2b is ch than 6c will combo, if you dont think itll combo use something else, 2b ch stun is not long enough to visually confirm into 6c, same with 5b > 6c
  2. im in miami, i dont have a ps3 or a stick ;_;
  3. you cant confirm 2b ch, you have to assume it's going to ch, so you just do 2b > 6c > buffer iad
  4. I think you should work on some confidence! I'd say you don't have to ask me for advice on how to get better. As far as your second question... well, I just do it, lol. There's no trick to it, you have to tell yourself to do whatever new things, thoughts or observations you make and turn it into action. The balance is good and everyone is playable, but I'm kind of tired of Extend. It's a step forward for everyone who cares about balance, but for me it's kind of meh, I'm tired of all the dumb characters getting to stay dumb, but they take stuff away from my character. But the balance is good now, for sure. I'd say the best way forward is to just make a brand new version instead of a new Continuum Shift. The former. More damage and meter gain. Obviously if your prorate is poor you should skip out on going into the held D > chun route. I like the new combos, they are more fun and varied than CS2, plus it feels like they really fleshed out staffless > staff stuff, but I don't like the damage reduction, and I don't like what they did to Daisharin. Even though I know they are encouraging people to use more different types of oki, but I wish they only took one or the other, and not both. Now, my issue with Litchi in CS2 was that I thought she was fun and a bit silly (how do you outdamage CS1 Litchi consistently lollll) but they simplified her too much from CS1, because they took away Itsuucan and reduced the blockstun and hitstun on the staff launch too much. This time I think it's fine, but she really does need more damage, or at least more damage for punishing people midscreen. I'm just waiting for BB3 at this point. If you're good at fighting games, Litchi is a good character. Litchi is the best looking character too, even though Makoto is pretty good. Litchi has hard combos and they are contingent on a bunch of factors, so if you can confirm into an optimal combos around 70 percent of the time, than that's good, because that's a pretty crucial skill in anime games. If you want to be good with Litchi, you should probably play Litchi.
  5. if you wanna get good at blazblue play blazblue
  6. there are people playing in NJ now? finally?
  7. im here someone play meeeeeeee
  8. Fastest possible dash 6A.
  9. There's no one way to do it. I mean, of course you need to handle the stuff you can practice first (which is more what MashThat5A would have to do), but for someone who's been playing for a long time and knows the game well, it's more of a matter of self-reflection on your own play. In my opinion, it's best to challenge people of all skill levels, not just strong players, because people of different skill levels handle different situation's differently, and adapt in different ways, or don't adapt, or adapt after a long time.... it depends on what type of player they are (which is why I don't like PSN :/). Well, Valk didn't change either, so shouldn't that match be more or less the same? And as far as Relius goes, have you tried to see what works for your Valk (or other chars that you see in videos) and apply that to him? It's unfortunate, but sometimes you just can't disencourage someone from playing a certain way. Tsubaki's cute but her outfit is kind of silly. She's a pretty straightforward character, but since they toned down her no gauge combos a bit, I think it's harder to win with her... For your first question, it all depends on the character, the player, and what they are doing to me. First off, you shouldn't limit yourself to just block, DP, mash, or burst - don't forget you also have counter assault and barrier jump available! Throwing is probably the riskiest option to use to escape pressure, there are only a couple of very specific places where I would even try to use throw to escape pressure. This may (or may not be) common knowledge, but if a throw and an attack connect on the same frame, the throw will always win, so I'd only suggest using a throw in a situation where this could happen, like after IB'ing Litchi's 6D. Even then, they could still jump/backdash/do something different, so it's still a pretty big risk. There is a time where each of these actions can work, and there is a time where they could fail. Jin has a dp, so usually when you have 50 meter, DP is a pretty nice, safe way to get out, but you could use Counter assault. Outright mashing can work if you notice them doing pressure that's unsafe (say, Ragna's doing 2B > 2B) but that can be easily stopped by a frame trap (think Ragna 2A > 2C, which gives Fatal Counter). Jumping out with barrier works sometimes too, but you can be hit out of jump start up if they use the right string. Blocking or using barrier is fine, but if you notice that they aren't actually being pushed out to a range that makes it hard for them to keep pressuring, it's better to save your barrier. In the end, this actually a pretty complicated question.... As far as how I go about getting out of pressure, it depends on what character I'm using, what character my opponents using, how much meter I have/they have, any habits I've observed... there are a bunch of variables. If people are just spamming overheads when you're getting up, just DP them lol. Hmm, for your second question... I've played BB since around one month after CT's arcade release, so 3ish years now. And before that, I played Melty Blood for 2 years, and during that, I played Smash since I was 15 years old. So I've been playing games competitively for almost 7 years (whoa). In Smash it took me about 6 months to get to top 8 at locals, then I switched my main to a top tier character, and it took me another 5-6 months of playing to get pretty good and do well at regionals. Fighting games are obviously different, but when I started playing MB, the skill level was very low, so I was able to beat most players relatively quickly. When BB came out was around when I stopped playing Melee and Brawl, at that point I thought I was pretty good at MB (though looking back, I really wasn't). And from there, I got to play BB for 6 months before everyone else. Everyone except for Jiyuna, Nas, and St1ckbug gave up CT at our arcade in around 2 months, Jiyuna was the only player I couldn't beat consistently. But as far as BB goes, I've been able to do well in the game from the start - but I don't think I actually got REALLY good at BB, and fighting games in general, until the second half of CS1. As far as practice, I played Melee with one of the world's best players every weekend for about 5-6 hours straight for 6 months straight, and I went to tournaments almost every weekend, but only practiced a little during the week. MBAC I netplayed almost everyday for a couple of hours a day. Brawl I played at tournaments, but not too often. BBCT arcade, I'd try to play once a week or so, when the game came out I netplayed for a couple of hours a day, same with CS1/2/EX. Before tournaments I play a lot, if there's nothing big coming up I play about an hour a day or so, sometimes more depending on my mood. For me, practice = play. Most of my practice time is spent actually playing matches. Usually early on in a new game I'll practice combos for a while, play a bunch of matches, and then start going into matchup strategy. Aside from combo execution, matchup strategy is the most important, and that pretty much encompasses the entire game.
  10. its always like that. if you do any move besides itsuu or 2b youll get hit, itsuu reward is higher but a bit riskier cause of 3c
  11. Seriously? Have you watched yourself play?
  12. Sorry Cookie, I'm going to be streaming with Kurushii in a bit. Good games.
  13. Nope, she decided to play. Much better.
  14. Cookie wants to learn the Tao matchup, but closes the room after playing one game vs mine? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm~
  15. 4.5/5.5 in Bang's favor IMO. His hitbox on 5B and jB got better, so you can't abuse slide 2A the way you could in CS2 (though it's still somewhat useful). The match is more like CS1, except you have to work harder to take him to the corner.... Fullscreen: Good idea to set the staff. Against fullscreen nails - Poison Nail - IB, watch him. D nails - IB > back jump, watch him, or reposition. If they like using nails in neutral, it's better for us. Midscreen: Against D nails - IB > backjump or backstep. Jumping is preferable. If you're already in the air (which is the best case scenario), IB and dj/airdash awa/whatever. IB is +6 in the air. Against jump ins - have to judge properly between 2A, 5A, itsuu, launch staff, jA... like CS1, there isn't one universal answer anymore. 5A definitely will never ever beat j4B btw. Slide 2A still works if they assume you'll stand up to block. Against 5B - your 5B still wins. Staffless, use 2B. Slide 2A loses :/. Using 6D against it will trade in your favor. Against 3C - just jump, don't try doing your 3C back on reaction. I'm thinking of trying to j2D it on reaction, gotta check. If you read it though, using your 3C is a fine answer. They will use 3C to stop Itsuu/6B. Bang's Pressure: 2A > 2A = gap 5A > dash 5A = can't 2A in between unless you IB, but if you mash 5A you'll win for sure. 2A > 5B = gap 5A > 2A > no gap 5B > 5C/6A = gap 5B > 2B = no gap Meaty 2B = beats backstep Blocked 6D or 5D = always, always, ALWAYS use Tsbuame, he literally can't do ANYTHING to stop this, it's -13 and -15 on block (respectively), and Tsubame is 11f startup, meaning he can't do any 5D > block or 5D > Super crash shenanigans on you. Meaty 5C = Don't dp this, he recovers before it comes out. 2B > D nails = An interesting situation, he's something like +5 on block, so first off, you should always IB this. If they like doing dash > normal, you can try doing IB > barrier jump (as barrier jumping makes your hitbox smaller than doing a normal jump). You can also IB throw, as your throw could beat a dashing normal. Both of those options are pretty risky though. Blocking is the safest, watchout for command grab after this. 2B > jump J4B = the basic low level Bang pressure, airthrow this shit. So, basically Bang's pressure isn't too hard to deal with if you know what he has, the problem is he has a ton of options, he has D nails, and he has a command grab to keep you from just blocking all day. In between 2A > anything pretty much, you can't mash to get out, but you can DP (gotta practice though). Bang's 2A is -2, so you can DP without IB'ing (though it makes it easier), and if you can do it consistently and make him bait that early in the string, you can just abare/jump/etc. Make him work. Litchi's pressure: Bang's 2D kind of sucks to use to mash out this version, the cool thing to do now is 6D, if you read a 6D, use 6A and confirm your FC combo. Using overhead for meaty occasionally works too. Vs Ashura - If they do wake up Ashura, you can DP on reaction to super flash. I don't know if you can still clash it with 2A and punish with Ryuuisou, I have to check. Vs Ashura in pressure - If you have the staff, you can delay any normal, wait for the super flash, and DP. 2A > 2C beats abare, 2A > 2B works pretty nicely as well and 2B goes into 6C > airdash jB etc. For okizeme in the corner, end with j9B > j7B > jC > land Kokushi and jump straight up, this will beat 6D > tele on wake up 100 percent. If you don't have meter, end with 6A > 2D > 3way.
