  1. All right, so that relatively long post I typed out got eaten up by my phonenets... I think it's perfectly fine to do it all on the weekend, but in the interest of time, I think doing one round of the bracket a weekend rather than my original schedule. Please, don't make any silly assumptions about start times - when I said 10;30, I meant 10:30, and whatever time is decided on for this Friday (or Saturday/Sunday), we'll be sticking to that. The times I play have no effect on the times the matches will run.
  2. They are talking about whiffing the first hit and only hitting with the second hit, you pretty much have to guess to block it.
  3. I hate grapplers, lol. But he's all right now, the meter gain makes him really scary. Special cancellable 3C is also pretty annoying to deal with. On the other hand, I like that he doesn't destroy primers the way he did in CS2... even though it's not a hard matchup for my characters (or versus zoners in general), he definitely got better. To sum it up (and other people in the thread have said this as well), he gets rewarded more than everyone else. I think he would've been a fine character in CS2, but a lot of characters just can't compare to him in similar situations. His meter gain is better, he carries to the corner faster, he does more damage more often. Combine that with him being a relatively simple character that a lot of people use, and there's bound to be a lot of salt flung his way. Well as far as gatlings go, if you're going to take a risk to get out, the riskiest time is after a blocked 2B or 5B. You can try jumping out of 214D/2D stuff if they are styling on you too much, but be aware that people do just airthrow sometimes to keep you honest. The safest way out would be to just dump meter on CA, you can do it pretty safely after a blocked 2C. Early on in the string, it's pretty risky. First, I don't want BBCS4, I want Blazblue 3. New moves, maybe a new character or two. Add some random shit, maybe more wallbounces or whatever. I wouldn't mind a more imbalanced, faster game. I like BB's pace, but to me it feels like almost all the new games (MVC3 being the exception) are pretty slow at low and midlevel play. The easy way to fix this is either make characters do more damage, shorten combos, or give characters more damaging options midscreen. Even though I don't really find it to be a problem, I feel like they would want to appeal to the masses. P4U is a pretty good example, even though characters don't do a lot of damage all the time, the combos are relatively short. Very risky. Use it only when you have the read. Also guys, it's fine to discuss stuff as long as it pertains to a question (or questions) in this thread~
  4. All right, we're going to get this started. I haven't heard anything from Nineball at all, and Zidane apparently is not playing, so in the end the vote was pretty worthless (lol), but congratulations to Haven for winning anyways. I want to get the first match done on Wednesday. I'll be posting a bracket and the format in the first post. The event is going to be streamed by Kurushii (big ups to him by the way). Get hype! On Tuesday night, I want Lost Soul and Haven to test their connection. Hope you guys practiced hard~
  5. Gonna play for a bit. Batousai, you realize you have to leave your house to be the main character?
  6. CS1 Thread CS2 Thread How to beat one combo warriors Third time a go-go~
  7. Depends on matchup first, player second. As in, personally, I have an idea of how I should start the round against every character, but you need to adjust to how the other person plays. For example, vs Tsubaki, using itsuu is great because it beats 22a (which beats pretty much every button you have, and leads to the corner right away). But if they read it they'll run up 2b or do 3c from the start. If I see they like doing that, I'll do 5B at the start of the round. If they like being passive and running away to charge at the start of the round, I'll chase them. Another example, vs Rachel, I like doing 2B at the start of the round if I've never played them before, because I assume they'll start the round with lobelia. If I see they like to run away first, then I'll adjust in later rounds. It's all about planning, observation, and application.

  13. doing regular chun means you cant use it later
  14. tk chun is optimal if youre unsure, for stability you can use the cs2 varient
  15. for litchi (and really, any character in the game), when it comes to combos, meter, knockdown, relative practicality, corner carry, and damage are all important. for litchi, corner carry, knockdown and meter gain are the most important, damage is secondary (although of course you want to maximize damage)
  16. meter is EXTREMELY important for litchi
  17. EDIT: ok, this is mostly figured out
  18. The poll is ending Monday, February 27th at 12:01. If you haven't voted please vote as soon as possible!
  19. I really, really hate the lower damage. Star demon, launching the stick with D has a bit of recovery (unlike CS1/2, where you recover instantly), but the blockstun/hitstun is the most out of any version of Litchi so far. On air CH, the enemy can't tech until they touch the ground (but it's always been like that). Also, a more accurate damage reduction estimation is that all the optimal combos damage has gone down by approximately 500-700 damage.... the higher end stuff (6B, 6D, 3C, 5C) has gone down by around 700, the lower end stuff has gone down by around 500.
  20. if a mod can close this thread that'd be great
