  1. Is Volpe my brother or something? WE"RE NOT RELATED! I CAN'T DRAG HIM AROUND EVERYWHERE (Sorry Volpe). Also, i've gotten quite used to Bang already thanks to all the matches from you and the many Bang encounters i've had. I'm not sure which tagers are going to be there, Axis maybe? And the only Ragna i'm truly worried about at the moment is SKD, and i've fought him quite often so i'm not as troubled (Even though if he chose Noel that would make for a hype mirror match). But. there truly is a lot of people that are going to prove a challenge. SKD, Raiza, Akira-Shiro, My nigga NeoGio0o, LK, and a few others that I don't know. Pretty much, this is going to be the type of exposure I need. Looking forward to the matches and what I walk away from the whole thing with. Frankly, i'm crazy hyped! Aside from that, I feel like i'm lacking in a lot of places as of late though; - My pressure is completely terribad -Mix-up is meh (even though i'm a Noel player, we didn't have that in the first place) - And my ability to adapt mid-match is beyond needing work - Lacking knowledge Long story short, I NEED desperate work. I'll make something happen though, THE SOUTH RISE AGAIN!!
  2. Lawl, nice catch there papstr. I use "down" to describe traveling due to well, i'm usually flying there, so technically, i'm going up, down...? Anyways, just watched a great P4U stream. Got to watch a very legit Yukiko player and some really good Shadow Labrys players. I gotta say, seeing the shadows in action has me re-considering my main.
  3. Also, got some other interesting news. Does anyone know about ECT (East Coast Throwdown)? If not, then it's a major being held down in New Jersey. I'll be headed down there in a few weeks to compete in BB. It's going to be an interesting experience with a bunch of big names like LK and what-not entering. Aiming for top 3 to show the East Coast that TN plays BB too! Lol.
  4. We got niggas feelin themselves in this thread...
  5. Nah bro. Nothing I read gets taken seriously anymore. Even though I do wish I could've been there to hear Justin's half of the story.
  6. Lawls nigga, try dealing with a weird cold all weekend. I could've shown up, but you guys would've had to deal with me coughing up my lungs and various-colored mucussess. I felt it would have been rude to be around you guys in such a condition. I guess F me for caring about your safety and health. LOL! Also, I really need to hear the conversations between Justin and you, I could possibly come to understand why it'd be hard to just accept some things. Heck, even now i'm still trying to grasp the concept of "smart mashing" Kof has. It just takes time...A LOT OF TIME!
  7. It's all about that Mayonaka Midnight son.
  8. I'll be there, I want to get in more BB against your Bang and also it's a good chance to start getting in more SCV experience. I have to agree that Akihiko players reallly need to utilize their personas more, it would add a whole new level of depth to their game, but I suppose they'll start trying to open up their options in due time.
  9. More high-level P4U matches: KVO Ultimate Battle Pt. 1 KVO Ultimate Batttle Pt. 2 These matches feature some really good players in the scene right now. Tsujikawa, Kubo, Goichi (A.K.A. Go-1). Definitely worth the watch. Edit: Naimat, if you're looking for a really solid akihiko match, I recommend watching video two around 51 minutes. It's Goichi vs. some Akihiko player and honestly, the match was intense.
  10. Almost finished Persona 4 The Animation. It was definitely worth the half-day I spent to caught up on it. Fight sequences were sub-par but the story managed to move me greatly. I have a lot more respect for all the characters and now I want to play eveyone in the game that much more. Edit: Dang, really hoping Adachi makes it into the Console version of P4U now. He kinda had that hazama-type (just found out they have the same vioce actor), comic-relief villian swag. He actually NEEDS to be in the game now.
  11. Alright. Also, where do you live again?
  12. Also, i'm bored, got nothing to do this weekend. Want to play some games but i'm tired of net-play.
  13. Have nothing to say to this except I may have been more interested in the game if this had been a reality.
  14. I believe Volpe initially started it, I forget at this point. I was going into the conversation thinking people weren't expecting the term "Free" to be literal at this point. It's been butchered over time and I wasn't aware people still took it as such, my mistake. I haven't seen it yet, but I might. Is it worth my money(If not, I'll find other means of watching it)?
  15. Milln, no one uses the word "Free" correctly these days anymore. It's become an exaggerated metaphor. The word "Free" could even be implied to a simple loss, not necesarily someone being extremely lackluster in general. I'm pretty sure I know my terminology.
  16. Milln, you do know Amber can body Hei for less than free right? Amber lets Hei get the jump on her most of the time due to the fact that she understands his nature almost like the back of her hand. She has time traveled multiple times and saved Hei's rear just as many times. In the manga, Hei and Harvest even had a conversation about how Amber had been setting up his life to prepare him for their fight. If Hei really wanted to kill Amber he would have to put in work, and the chances of him still killing her is slim to none. I do agree he is a badass, but doing whatever he wants to everyone, idk bro. Also, it is nice to see the main character lose once in a while. Unfortunately, Naruto hasn't lost a fight since the Sasuke chase arc, and from the way they keep buffing him, it doesn't look like he's going to be losing any in the future either.
  17. You have to look at all of his fights overall (including ones in the manga). I find the best example to base my case on was in the final manga when he fought Uber Soldier. That was a prime example of hei's skill pushed to the limit and he barely won due to him getting a quick power up. Don't get me wrong, Hei is a freaking monster and can stand his own against other characters. However, if you put him in a tournament, I guarantee he would place high (maybe top 8) but he definitely wouldn't take first or second.
  18. Nah, after analyzing all of Hei's fights, we've decided to brand him as High A. let's look at the facts: * Hei has amazing rush-down (His ability to get in on an opponent is wow.) * His risk-reward is OP (His risk is him screwing up, getting injured, and inevitably saved by someone. His reward, an Instant-kill) * His yomi is lacking (Has a somewhat hard time opening people up. I guess this could be countered by him having the cord that wraps around someone's neck easily and sets up for instant-kills. Plus his knives are instant-kills as well.)
  19. Most of the arguments i've had has never been a matter of opinion. They've always been about core mechanics or something of that nature. For instance, in the one with Lumin and me, I talked about how Ragna was at an advantage in most cases in which he forces Noel to block. This was a matter of matching frame data and situations with each other, solid facts. When I mentioned "one-sided" debates, I was referring to how it seemes like the people I debated against were only interested in the argument while they were winning (via having the most factual information or having the most backing from other people), and were quick to drop it even after evidence from the opposing side which could be mutually used for study appeared. Also, I had no intention of trying to convince anyone of anything. Was merely letting facts be known, what they take from that is on them. Debating has become very free...and yes Volpe, Hei from Darker Than Black is extremely free
  20. One of the players were actually pretty solid and I found myself having a bit of fun against his Spider-Man team. I'm going to try and push the subject of going to tournaments again tomorrow. Also, arguments? We don't have those in this thread. Just one-sided debates which no one is willing to continue after they've laid down what they have to say.
  21. I thought BB got like 16 people during the last real tournament we had. That's like 2 people less than what King of Cartels got. Hopefully, the people who do play BB show up this time and don't decide to stay at home and beat their dicks. Also Astaroth, i've been putting in work for you bro. My school had a bunch of big events these past two days and we've had access to gaming systems. I immediately started talking about fighters with a lot of people and surprisingly, many of them played Marvel (about 10 or so to be exact), gonna try to convince them more to come out to the marvel tournaments. People be afraid of tournament-play for some reason though. The Marvel money matches we had were lawls though.
  22. It was ridicule-worthy, but then Crash Bandicoot got in that shit and showed niggas what's real.
  23. YO KIDS!!! YOU LIKE SMASH!!! PLAYSTATION GOT YOU!!!!
  24. There aren't many characters in the game that have only one way of opening people up (some ways are probably just ten times more effective, therefore being used a lot more often), everybody does have ridiculous combo potential as well. I do like the fact that a match can be decided in two combos off of decent-sized mistakes from your opponent. Yosuke is definitely becoming one of the more played characters in the game. Mostly due to his crazy ability to control neutral (much like Tao in a sense) plus his high-low and throw mix-ups are extremely strong (Pretty much Bang level). Overall, he's going to be extremely annoying to fight, and honestly, I can't wait.
  25. P4U Tougeki Qualifiers (Really good high-level matches): Set 1 Set 2 Set 3 Set 4 This game gets all my love.
