I'm still using Athena, I just don't like having her on the same team as Mai. Right now i'm working on three teams, one which revolves around Kim (Athena is in this one) and one revolving around Takuma (she'll probably be in this one as well). I'm trying to have all three ready for our first KoF tourney or the one at GG (My Robert/Mai/Leona team is for my salty run-back against Boomcube since I have the most synergy with these three). I'm nowhere near going to drop Athena, just got a different plan for the near future. Also, I could've sworn I said something about GG's tourn- oh yeah, no one reads my posts anyways

You obviously didn't hear the full convers. me and Naimat had about Robert. I said I liked his tools and that "vest swag" greatly. I went home and sat in the lab and learned how to extend his HD combo.

My newest team is finally here. Robert/Mai/Leona, i'm loving these three so much and the team works in any order I decide to place them in. Anyone can be a battery, anyone can be a meter-waster, only Leona and Robert can be power-houses. This is really working out great for me. Love this team, love these characters, love this game! Anyways, that's my random rant for the day.

Forget air-grabs, try any move that isn't a projectile Middy. Also, I always found Jackie's candy-land Ragna colors to be homo...so yeah @Naimat: Billy doesn't just annoy your opponent, he just flat out rapes them, the nigga is too broken, which explains why you like him so much. I'm picking him up as my anti-Billy. Might try EX Kyo if I can figure out how to get him.

I need to stock up on food and drinks this time. I took like two sodas from Milln's fridge and I felt bad about it. Naimat, if you're willing to pick me up again food is on me.

I actually came up with that post a few minutes coming out of training, so it's really not that theoretical. I will say your opinion is justified since I watched a lot of Athena matches myself and people do really poorly with her (which I think comes from just not understanding her type of character). Plus, you have to take into account this japanese player. Either ways idk man, I think there's more to the story than "Athena is ass"

I do have a few questions. Why does it matter if your opponent is able to throw out another projectile while the first is being thrown back? They simply clash and things are reset to neutral, plus you build meter for using it, not psycho ball. The active reflecting frames are about the same as anyone else's, maybe off by maybe one or two frames but no big difference. Her DP isn't bad if it's EX'd and I don't think a situation will arrive where two people throw out a DP at the same time. Her normals may lack range but they're still good enough to get the job done (her corner pressure is pretty good also). She does lack when it comes to controlling the opponet's movement but I find that if someone jumps in or rolls in you can just teleport and force a psycho ball situation or sneak a command grab if spaced properly (overall you aren't controlling their movement but your own). Athena is a pretty normal character if you ask me, her way of fighting isn't as conventional as say Kula's or any other character. She requires a mind-set that is neither full rush-down or full zoning. I think in all her simplicity she does have a bigger meta-game then she's not being credited for. Mu has taught that simply looking at what a character has isn't enough but rather how it all plays out in a grand scheme of things. Now i'm definitely not discarding her, imma make this character work, no matter how bad it gets. P.S. the post I made before this one was a joke.
