  1. I'm just mostly curious as to May's "apparent weaknesses" when compared with Jam are. May is just as retarded in this game, and she has a command grab to boot. Shes up there contending for top damage, and if the bitch has 25% tension she can combo you from basically anything. This coupled with her wtf pwn normals really makes her a pain in the ass for any character that needs to get close. I wouldn't put her on par with the likes of pot, but I wouldn't put Jam, or any one outside of the top 3 up there either.
  2. The double crossup late jh is more about spacing than the matchup, except against like faust and zappa. You just have to put your self in a position to hit them regardless if you broke their guard with the cross or the high. And again, its not like I do ky-style mixup every kd, just occasionally, though I might do it a little more now that I know I can fafnir after I break their guard Zero comes off as overly aggressive a lot of the time he's playing, but I wouldn't call him random or anything to that end, especially when there are players like mike who are revered for their randomness. He plays a very methodical hos, and I have never known him to throw damage to the wind like you accuse him of. I don't think there are any recent vids of him though so maybe he has just really tightened down his combos in the last 4 months? Also, the combo you listed sounds burst baity, just in case you didn't think of that. And as for the matchup critique, I also disagree with that. Post some vids in the media thread of him disregarding match up knowledge. Sorry, I'm a fanboy, but I say these words supported by hours of watching the master in his lair. I can say that I have had very few chances to see sanma play in the flesh, but I have watched 0 and Kaqn side by side and there just really is no comparison any more. Kaqn wins on the virtue of being a strong overall player where as 0 is truely a disciple of hos.

  5. I was just insinuating american players get ched a lot as well as get hit by guard string to 5d much more often than they should. 5d and ch's aren't cheap tricks in my book.
  6. Yeah, I see 0 all the time. Not that its a true indicator of skill, but for what it's worth, I've beaten Kaqn in a mirror and I can barely get a round against 0. He's the fucking man. The only true hos player imo. And yeah, he looks pretty fucking old in real life too. Has to be the chain smoking. Edit for thread relevance: Does any one ever use run jump across airdash back jh for a meaty double crossup? I do this occasionally just when I want to fuck with my opponent's head, but I just realized today that even when you're too far off to combo 2d... you can do a fafnir... I have been living a lie.
  7. The only thing that isn't broken about test/slayer is the fact that due to there being 5 million players for both characters, you get to learn the match ups really well:psyduck: I was dumb and didn't play enough when there was still 5 million eddies, so I still some what suck at that match :/
  8. lv3 GB imo isn't really a combo tool, seeing as the instances where you can predictably land it are so few. You shouldn't be hitting lv3 gb on purpose very often. That said, when I do hit it I tend to do a ji combo or do lv2 gb if I'm fighting a heavier opponent. I have a weak spot for the gb spam combos As for super use, if you watch 0 he basically gets to lvl 3 and looks for opportunities to l3SF for the win. I personally don't play this way, but thats mostly because I can't throw out that supermotion mid block string and be IBing at the same time:vbang: lv3 SF really is the shit though, turns hos into slayer almost and only costs 50% tension. Does hos have any way to exploit faust's hitbox after being swept? Does it make the cc link easier on him?

  11. Dude, I think I might finally be getting better, I almost beat hot zappa 2 sets in a row, baeting her in the first. I think that could be the strongest player I've ever beat:psyduck: And yes, raoh fireballs were 6ped:arg:
  12. lv1 bhb is super easy to stagger. Thats why I was saying lv2 >.> lv2 combos on max stagger. You can combo it after lv1 though if your opponent doesn't see it coming, or sucks ass at staggering.

  15. Any one ever use lv1/2 bhb into fafnir? Never seen it really but it doesn't seem too bad and seems like a decent option/mindgame at lv1 :/ if you hit the iad combo after it even does half decent damage.

Ours cost about the same as yours but the stay was till 6pm:psyduck: It was nice to meet Kyle finally!
  17. Jam is easy, her falling hitbox is huge. Are you doing it with a running jump or no? Starting in the corner? Doing a running gb(make sure you dont do this. I learned how to dl out of a running gb first and the timings on everything are totally different)? Dashing jh really really helps get you to the corner all the way so the second jump is close enough. Also, I find it helps on some characters to do the second jh sort of soon if I hit a gunblaze out near midscreen in order to be able to keep them in hit stun since you still have time to fall and jd them as you arrive in the corner. One other cheater trick, especially for light weights is you can use js instead of jh in parts if they're getting too high. Mainly for the harder lightweights things that help is aiming for their legs with the fist of your jh, and of course trying as hard as you can to start your dloop as low the ground as possible. Also note that(at least it feels like this to me) the untech time you get in throw dloops is wayyyy shorter than in a fafnir, gb, ch xh combo. Never be afraid to keep the combo alive with jp/jk! personal victory dance: I can finally iad loop corner to corner, woot. Now to get that in a match all 0 style:vbang:
  18. You don't want to play on Alex's stick though. You never know where that thing's been.
  19. For comboing off crossup jh, space your crossup better(it will make it harder to block too). You want to be as close to them as possible. Combos depend on if they're standing or not. You can either land and do 5s tk 236k > 236k or go for a sweep splitskick combo. As for non crossup jh, you don't have to do jh first. You can do jp > jh or what aver you want. Also remember you can cancel it into j2k for another overhead hit/more blockstun. Corner oki: Most jams these days are sacrificing damage in order to get oki in the corner. Mostly they will do 2 wall sticks and then run in and 2h. Except for lights its fairly easy to get the kd every time. I remember back when flash said corner oki wasn't worth pursuing lol
  20. The most damaging combos are always going to be dustloops, or relaunches into hji finisher after dloop combos. lv2 bhb prorates like a bitch. Bsically, when ever possible, you want to be hitting them with some kind of hardslash or dust. Use that philosophy when looking at the combos and you can most likely figure out which ones do the most damage. Also note that the combos listed in this thread are not the potentially most damaging variations, rather what is viewed by the people posting in the hos forums as acceptably easy to execute. You can get 3 rep dloops on a lot of the medium weight characters, but that doesn't mean you see them done:psyduck:

  24. Just to prove how pointless that really is.... With full guard bar you can do jh 5s jh 5s/fafnir full dust loop. Does roughly the same damage meterlessly/or not :/ Stop trying to get me to take the time to learn hos's DI:psyduck:
