Your blog totally needs a bbs or something, because I always want to post random shit in this thread that has no real relation to GG, but relevance to the blog, but end up not and forgetting it But yeah, your streak was some where near 30 when you got face-dolphin'd. Helping Chihiro look through the adult help wanted books was awesome. Wednesday is fast becoming the highlight of my alcoholism, lol. Saeko didn't make it out though saddly, though she said the ass thing 'aint no thang(like I thought). But w/e, I'm pretty much screwed current wise. Bosh and Mogi aren't getting my love any more, but I guess they get to keep my money:vbang:

I'd be up for initiating you into Evlenshadow culture this weekend if you want, considering I'll probably be playing games and drinking on saturday. 0 plays primarily at vegas I think. That is where I see him most when it's not a tournament day.
-
Thats right 2 weeks and you'll be drinking me under the table again. Hanging with artur is pretty cool. We play so much sf4 I'm playing dalsim and chun right now but I'm leaning towards chun more and more since I am way better at playing aggressively than I am at zoning with the stretchy man.

Last year was the second dream fighters so I figured thats why it was df2. Either way I don't see why there wouldn't be a third tourney. G3 just makes me think of the Vai/Satriani Guitar tour lol
-
Isn't it going to be df3 this year if it happens at all?

Inoue playing hos again is definitely a good thing, considering he is beast with just about any character he touches. This weekend sounds like it is gonna be crazy, I hope I have time to enjoy it to it's fullest but between putting my apartment together and orientation I might get fucked.
-
Then who is the mysterious pink haired guy?
-
I would just like to throw it out there that En got his team into SBO, not that that has any relevance to the actual discussion going on here. Why don't you guys just agree to disagree. I propose we shift gears and start tiering players, because it's obvious that player tier matters significantly more than character tier, or should I say that the higher level play gets the more marginalized advantages become. I think every one should just play pot so threads like these don't have to happen.

I'm so jealous man, that looks like it was an awesome fucking party. I don't think I'll be able to look at FAB the same way again. Lots of hillarious pics, like the one of the japanese players trying to hold up Raekwon lol ps: Who was the pink haired guy? Part of the kansai domination squad? Don't tell me that is Efute:vbang: It could be the start of the visual-may trend lolol

Hey, kinda out of place, but if next weekend is Jin's 1 year anniversary could you maybe say hi to Nozomi and Mame for me? Tell them I'll be at Jin on wednesday? And of course congratulate Yoshi, that crazy bar owning Jonny Depp wannabe

Epic read as always, thanks for the write up

And just incase you should forget, the elevator money match was probably the hypest thing that went down. No one saw that 4 floor comeback coming!!!!!!

WTB blog entry on evo 2k8. It was hype. You were hype. Every one was hype, and I believe this should be chronicled in the annals of your blog. ps: Spoilers: The Midwest is too strong:vbang:

What exactly is difficult to use about 2h? Just find the distance that it hits in and do strings into it... I reccomend watching Tit Beasts recent vids because he uses it in like 50% of his block strings, maybe more, and you should be able to get a good feel for where it will hit. What I am more curious about is how punishable is blockstring ending in 5h > gb frc > throw?
-
Sol can do bb infintes on certain members of the cast, and a while ago there was an infinite-esque combo into infinte gb's on a chip with hos in a cmv. Nothing really all that useable.
-
That is staple mixup for many characters though, seeing as any one can take advantage of late airdash high/low mixup. Dizzy/Ino/Venom/Millia just take away the easy options for dealing with the mixup by forcing you to block projectiles before the mixup. That said, you can block that in reaction. You block high until they can no longer go high, and of course guessing can make it easier but guessing gives your opponent the power to trick you.
-
That doesn't change the fact that Millia still has dangerous reversal safe mixup at her disposal. If you honestly are going to give the matchup to hos on the merits of SV alone, I'm not sure how qualified you are to actually discuss this. Hell, with an h disc on you the only option that is some what safe is jumping, and that can be countered fairly easily. Everything else is going to either get hit by the disk or put you in blockstun infront of millia. As for commiting to blocking high or low, with the exception of car frc to jk, everything is fairly blockable on reaction, given you have experience fighting millia. I'm not saying it's easy but stuff like 6k shouldn't be unblockable for you. Bad moon can only come after jcable moves so it is also slightly predictable. I still stand by an even matchup rating. Hos has clear advantages in areas, but millia's overall stronger game pretty much evens it out in my eye. Sure you might get jped once or twice but thats not the end of the world, and in like 90% of all instances wont lead to kd, whereas any kd can potentially lead into a cycle of death. Oh yeah, and if you're going to try something ballsy to get out of millia lockdown, intelligent dead angling is far and away your best bet.
-
Or you could advance like a sane person and not get ched into oblivion. If you can get him to try to zone you with grounded normals and not balls when you're advancing you might find a hole to go for a jh ch, but honestly the risk of getting knocked down off a ch6p is not really worth fishing imo. Double jump is your friend in this match. Basically proper blocking and patience is the only way to win this match.
-
Akira, are you sure you're not getting an otg 6h the times they are teching? The way I understand it, any 6h is supposed to knock down.
-
Not that this belongs in this thread, but this feels like the most appropriate place to post it as of now:psyduck: The hos guides are fine IMO, they give you access to a good foundation of knowledge to start piecing together your own order sol, and that is all they really have to do. There is no way to win consistently(at least with order sol) by spamming strong tactics all the time. If Guilty Gear were that easy maybe us Americans(and Europeans I guess) wouldn't suck so much I guess. The real meat of what makes you a good player is your ability to read and react/predict your opponent after identifying patterns/tendencies in his game play, not being able to do a guardstring into a jied l1brp frc to a fuzzy guard. If your opponent doesn't let you get back in after ccing in a blockstring, thats when you start the devastating frame traps. If your opponent 1f jumps after blocking RI, punish that. Sure it's easy to write that stuff down, but read it as much as you want, that doesn't mean you'll start utilizing it. And when you can play in a way that forces your opponent to wait and react to you instead of spamming his strong tactic, you probably are doing it right. If I was going to change the guides, the only thing I would do is get rid out out of date material, or shift the out of date material to a new thread and call it "The Early Hours of AC Order Sol: When he was thought to be a beast".

You don't even need to cc the 2d on a lot of characters after ch. I don't negative edge it personally, but I don't really go for the combo except against lights and when I get a ch. On ch there are probably better combos any way. If you really are a week into playing gg, and a day or two into playing hos, good fucking luck doing dustloops man. I respect that you're challenging your self, but you should really just play pot or jam if you want easy combos. It's a long and painful road to make your hos look like 0/sanma:vbang:

lol, watch Niga in SBO and then watch Hase's beast vids. I think that should explain it.

300 damage combos in match play have to happen really early in the lifebar, and usually off some beefy hit. People that can hit 300 damage with out wasting heaps of tension, off legit setups are like... May, Aba, and Slayer... maybe axl.

The only problem I had when learning IAD combos was that I used to play Jam, and her minimum IAD height is much much lower than hos', so I could just mash on IAD as fast as possible for sj iad stuff, but hos you have to give it some time. It's actually not that fast of an input. Besides that, just make sure you connect your punch before hitting h or s or what ever else you want before the sv.

lol, all the combos with a billion kokugeki frcs at the start can double as silly guard strings. Ahahahaha
