  1. Take one more look at his frame data. His normals aren't slow nor do they have very long recovery. His meter gain from combos is also very high. And he's not completely helpless without meter.
  2. Hazama is stupid in the wrong way. Hakumen is stupid in the right way. Amazing corner carry, conversion into damage or at least a better situation off of every hit, amazing buttons, meter gain for doing nothing, tools for every situation, general braindead shit. Is it ever really a bad idea to do Hotaru on someone else's wakeup? Hazama and Valkenhayn don't break the game. They move. That's their thing. Arakune takes away your turn, his mechanic is one that doesn't allow the other player to play BB if he gets it going. As for Hakumen taking lots of "fundamentals" it don't take a lot of skill to hit confirm most of his shit. He's dumb, and fairly auto-pilot. People just kind of need to deal with the fact that he's stupid now.
  3. Souji thinks this game is a kusoge. :<
  4. Response to _Sey Ah yes. Thanks for the correction _Sey. That's what I meant. I'm just really dumb sometimes. Also, none taken. Do it anyways.
  5. Response to: Vordoxen As far as 6A and 6B goes, they are mixup tools. Which means you need to make them fear the fact that you have both of them. Even top level players get hit by 6A, not because they're bad at blocking, but because the Hazama player mixed them up. When you do pressure, you need to make sure you're actually mixing them up by doing throws, command throws, frame traps, crossups, high/lows, baits etc. because if all you do is hit buttons at them and hope they just stop blocking your pressure sucks. Using 6A and 6B during pressure, like say after the +2 5B, even if you don't have meter is a great way to get them to anticipate one thing, then when you have meter you can mix them up by going for the other, or doing the same thing, or doing nothing and seeing if they try to reversal out. 6B being +3 on block also means you get a nice frame advantage on block and hits them if they try to yomi block high, so mixing up between 6A and 6B during pressure is never a bad idea.
  6. Not too much changed. Refer to this, in the meantime I will think about this matchup more.
  7. Pressure A great way to keep opponents on their toes is to use 5B to its fullest extent. Being +2 on block means that you can hold 1 to automatically bait a reversal, wait, then continue pressure. It can also be jump canceled, so you can use it with IAD to crossup or to jump barrier a reversal then fall down with a j.a if one doesn't come. You can also do pressure strings like 2A 5B 5B as a frame trap or do 2A 5B then dash and grab, or if you are all up in dat ass you can just wait a second then grab them for a pretty tricky tick throw attempt. It's a very import staple of his pressure.
  8. Thread Rules Read Before Posting As part of our efforts to better the Hazama forums and Hazama players, we will begin a movement to more actively discuss our character's strengths and weaknesses as it pertains to different situations. This thread is intended to discuss effective frame traps, pressure, oki, oki setups, combos that aren't the TK loop, TRM, and anything else in a more general and overall gameplay sense. Specific vs. character discussion can take place here as well, but if so I ask you take anything relevant and useful information you find and put it in that character's matchup thread. Anything found to be relevant and effective will be added to the CSE Hazama guide so that thread can remain a very easy to read and easy to find the necessary information. This is not a general off-topic thread, nor is it a newbie QnA thread. Take any newcomer questions to this thread. It is for serious discussion of Hazama's gameplay in a more technical aspect. Anything like spam, non-gameplay questions or answers, trolling or anything less than reasoned and logical contributions are strictly prohibited and punishments measures will be asked for/taken. I'm not going to ask you to have some ridiculous posting format, but I would like for you to put the topic of your post bolded and underlined at the top of your post so people can easily find out what aspect of his gameplay you are talking about. If you have evidence, then please present it by hyperlinking the url to the word "Evidence". Example: If you believe someone's information to be incorrect, provide a logical response using either verifiable evidence or deductive reasoning. No personal attacks or flaming. If you have doubts about the relevancy or accuracy of your post, PM me or a mod or someone else who you feel is intelligent enough to answer you. If anything else needs to be added at a later date to help maintain order or clarity, then I will do so.
  9. Obvious answer: Make P3 Fem Protag playable. And not just because I love her.
  10. Cool. Now everything about involving the TK loop can go into the TK loop thread. That cleans up all the posts about it scattered throughout the Hazama forums. Next we start a Hazama play primer thread, wherein we discuss general strategies and things like that. Then someone takes the good stuff and puts it into the revamped CS2 tutorial thread, which now not only includes everything that's in there (besides any obsolete or now incorrect information), but also good pressure ideas, general gameplan in certain situations (i.e. Near death, fighting a dp character, oki setups, things of that nature) and keep it for that only with no other posts other than any vital information to be added to it remaining underneath it. In theory, the total number of threads we need are 7. [stickied]General off topic Hazama (top hat) [stickied]QnA and Tidbits (Critique of one's Hazama can go here) [stickied]Video thread [stickied]Hazama Guide (includes all the combos and etc. I mention before.) Chain Movement Primer Serious Gameplay only discussion thread (for use in discussing serious gameplay things to be added to the guide and to discuss technical things about the character) TK Loop Primer Then the character matchups of course go in their respective threads. This is my version of a utopian Hazama forum. This is pretty much the only necessary things. Anything else is clutter. P.S. I'm always kawaii.
  11. I HEARD ARAKUNE WAS IN HERE FILLING UP HIS MY TURN METER AND NOT SHARING TURNS. FUCKING ARAKUNE. STOP TAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S TURNS. DICK.
  12. It's usually always PS3 and BYOC, but I'm sure people would be more than happy to let you borrow a stick for your matches. Or you could give em money. Or bop em and take it. Also I'm scared of the punishment game now because Tales of Graces f said Natto is gross. :<
  13. Who has awakened me...oh come on man what the fuck is this shit now. Fuck. Fine. For one thing, not a single one of you can complain about the lack of Hazama information on this board when none of you readily discuss it. The matchup threads? Dead. Are you telling me you people play this game and don't fight any characters at all? Like, you turn it on and play abyss mode or the games story then looked at artwork before bed? Even if he is rarely here, Dusty did make the time to start matchup threads, which pretty much no one has taken advantage of. There is no real major discussion of our character here. What are you going to clean up? The thread where you all talked about cosplaying as him? Or how fucking SWWWAAAAGGGG he is? If there is no information then there is no need to clean it up. If you want this place cleaned up then start by providing information. How does Haz vs. Valk go? What's a good thing to do off of random hitconfirms, not just ones that lead into his BnB TK loop? What's a good way to pressure? How about a good way to pressure X character so you can avoid Y situation? How should I be using chains in this particular instance? None of that shit is discussed. The deepest this board has gotten is "this is how you do this difficult combo". Like, this board is straight up fucking autopilot sometimes. How do I play this character? Learn this combo. That's not a character tutorial. You ever notice how JP hazama tutorial have words in between, and SSF4 has entire videos dedicated to one character's option selects against another character? We need more of this, not more of HEY GUIZ I FOUND OUT HOW TO DO THE TK COMBO OFF OF THIS AND YOU CAN DO DIS MANY LEWPS LOL SO SWAG. And being angry at Dust/KV is kind of stupid. You curse their lack of presence, but what are they going to come in here and do? Do you want Dusty to come in here and carefully explain every last instance of this character to you in extreme detail and him covering every little thing without any discussion at all from the rest of us? Do you want Kid_Viper to be here everyday posting his findings in training mode while we all sit and watch and keep our mouths shut? They are human, and fallible. They are good at their character, but they're also not the greatest players in the world. So they can be wrong, or they can want to hash out a discussion with someone. I don't come here anymore because there is nothing to discuss here with anyone. Why would I come here to read nothing? Why would KV or Dusty? Sadeyo: Calm down. The mods will come back when there is a need. Give them a goddamn reason. If you're so concerned about the lack of technical discussion, then start a fucking technical discussion. I don't know why you're here all mad when you don't post much of anything either. MetalMaelstrom: Combos=/=Character knowledge. Sadeyo is right in saying that just the wiki showing you the buttons and then combos is not equal to knowing how to play the character. I don't know what it is about FGs lately, but doing a fancy combo does not mean you are good with that character. I see you guys starting to make positive efforts towards shaping this place up, and that's a good start. If you do that, then perhaps people will come discuss things here. Zeron's Hazama guide can be updated for CSE, and the matchup threads need to come alive. If that were to happen, and everyone kept their Hazama homo-lust in one thread like the general thread, we'd be golden. As far as a new mod goes, seeing as how Zidane hasn't played CSE at all and has no real plans too, and Dusty doesn't play Hazama much anymore, and Kid_Viper is far too pretty to trouble (dat kawaii as fuck bear suit), then have a serious discussion about who you wish to nominate. As far as nominees, if you'd please, I'd like you guys to abide by this small list of criteria. They don't need to be the best, but they do need to be decent. Regular offline experience is a plus. Knows an effective way to have discussion with other good players about their characters, for example talking to Huey about Bang, Lord Knight about Litchi, etc. etc. Of course this means ask anyone who is decent with that character, not just the tippy top of their users, but you get what I mean. And no lag warriors or theory fighters. Know what you're talking about because you've done it. Don't nominate Zeron. Then we can ask shtkn about perhaps replacing Zidane. Maybe with this Dusty will come back. Who knows.
  14. Yep, it's what Zeromus said. Hazama and Relius are bros.
  15. ................ anyways, gg gli. Netplay.
  16. Hazama is boring and un-fun now. Time to go play HAK-MAN
  17. GGs everyone. I've got to get over tourney nerves. I looked like garbage on stream, but did fine in casuals. Oh well. Next year, I'll have my revenge Silver Dabbit! A special thanks to my teammates. Team Drama had a good run. The shounen arc didn't end the way we wanted, but the manga is just beginning, and the anime adaption will have BONUS FOOTAGE AND POWERUPS. Good shit ShinAT and Severin, I'll do better for you next year. Shoutouts to everyone I played, tourney or otherwise. Jared, I fucked up. You died son. I SWEAR. But I'm happy for you, have fun in Japan, and level up even more. It was good seeing everyone again, like Huey, Kid_Viper, LK, Zong, Dacid, C0R, Render, Mike Z and anyone I missed. It was good meeting new people too, like Jan and Stick and the people I played in tournament. I feel pretty good about my performance during casuals. The more I played the better I started doing, and I'm glad I got to play some of the best the U.S. has and wasn't completely free. Ultra Special Thanks to Stickbug and Amadeous. You two are some of the nicest people I've ever had the good fortune to ever meet. I thank you for everything you did for me. This weekend was something special for me, even if I didn't win, and you two made it possible. Also, thanks Stickbug for the level up on my shit talk. Gotta let those people know that it ain't their turn.
  18. 5.5-4.5 if not 6-4 Ragna Reasons why: -He does consistent good damage off of many things. -He gets to use meter as a utility instead of one of the few ways to get good damage -His corner combos end in 22C. Off of this he can fuzzy Hazama. The way to avoid this is to not tech and let your self stagger onto the ground, but if he's smart and sees you doing this he'll just 3C and then 22C you again to put you in the same exact situation, and 22C will do decent damage every time. If you guess right, you're still in pressure. -He can fuzzy you off of other shit too. Hazama on the other hand wins when he zones and keeps Ragna out, but if Ragna gets in, Hazama's life becomes a little slice of hell. Have fun guess blocking. I need to play this matchup more, but based on what I've seen this is what I've got for now. There's a reason Ragna is S-tier in this game.
