He was doing standing block when he blocked BHB. For some strange reason he has a hard time dealing with fafnir... I tell him it hits low so block low. He says he does yet he still gets hit anyway so he tries blocking high but that didn't work either(obviously). Maybe some odd glitch? Or BHB gives some kind weird fuzzy guard? Damn, I gotta find that match of Kaqn landing a corner air throw and relaunches with lvl.1 Savage Fang with a followup and wins the round. That should be added to the combo thread if it's not there yet....

It's true. I did that yesterday in a match. Imagine my shock at this. I was literally And what I find odd is BHB AC FRC>fafnir. I did this in a match and the Slayer I fought claims he blocked low but he got hit anyway. The Frame advantage??????

[Accent Core] Sol Badguy General Discussion
Hatred Edge replied to Hatred Edge's topic in Sol Badguy
Easy: Neutral tech, forward tech, backward tech and the fact that people can choose WHEN to tech. Seriously it isn't a walk in the park. I've been trying to do this myself. A major factor in this is your opponent's playstyle. Sometimes in matches, my opponents won't tech until they see me jump up after them. I do know that some people tend to tech right away when their in the corner like after being hit with HOS's throw combo. Some people anticipate you trying to throw them. It depends on your opponent. It takes either A)Knowing your opponent real well or B)A lot of practice. The higher level players do Bandit revolver becuase it's more realiable than fishing for air throws. -

To test it just program the CPU to do a move that causes stagger like Sol's 6HS. The try to mash out just using the pad or stick then try it again but use the pad/stick and the buttons as well. Find out which method gets the job faster. Anyway I have a question on button layout: as in the Eddie forums earlier and I noticed that Teyah said if you play Eddie on pad take advantage of the shoulder buttons. The layout was listed as this: P= X K= [] S = ^ HS = R1 D = R2 Does anyone else here use that layout? Is it better for gatlings? Another player at where I go to college play Potemkin and Jam and whenever he plays on pad he uses that layout. -
I got just one question: Is it possble to be any good with Eddie on a PS2 pad? Cuz I met a new GG player and they wanna learn Eddie and I was about to give them this site for reference but all I've been hearing is because of negative edge, if you don't have a stick you're gonna suck as an Eddie player....

Excellent matches. Wow, you guys are pretty damn good. Watching you all play pretty much inspired me to become a better player myself. Anyway back to watching the rest of the matches.

According to the Venom matchup thread in the venom forums. Rock It crushes Venom's normals at close range. Like POINT BLANK range. I doubt this means anything against Slayer. Damn, my I-no won't be ready for like 4 months!
-
I went a few matches against a Slayer today myself. All I got is don't rushdown Slayer at all. Like WUT posted, I too start off by charging at let Slayer come after me rather than me after him. If you corner Slayer, don't jump in. He'll either A)anti-air you or B)Block and throw then mixup with his dash or C)Block then go into some mixup that ends up going low. Here's how it went for me after losses by way of trying be have a better offense than Slayer: Beginning of the match: 1.Manual Charge>Charge Burst CH or Storm Viper vs Mach Punch 2.(what WUT said) Gunblaze vs Jump ins 3.BRP vs 2D/2HS That's all I got. Anyone else?

No, stick and buttons mash helps to get out of stagger and faint. Stick alone isn't that great to escape stagger but if you mash buttons as well you get out faster. I tested it. Slayer sometimes will put me into stagger with his 5HS or air OD and I'll mash out before he can land another hit. In short: mash both buttons and directions to get out faster. -
I didn't know that was what a Dizzy player fought like....

Okay... So I did some tests against Rock It myself. Wow. It didn't know Rock it was that good against Venom. The most I got was Venom has to hit Order-Sol at the startup of Rock It(when he pulls back). 5K,2S, and 2k is what I found to be best to deal with Rock It AT IN YOUR FACE RANGE. 6P seems to trade on both ends(or Rock It wins) for a CH during the fire punch phase. At point blank range you have to hit him before the flames come out. If it's used in a block string like 2K,c.S,5HS>Rock It, well I guess you just have to block the entire thing. Warp can work but then you have to worry about the Storm Viper problem.... Dubious Curve, I must have been some jackass to think that could work. I got CH by HOS everytime. Well I must say I got a higher respect for you Venom players. All I can say is to beat Rock It you have to hit HOS before he starts the dash.... If he doesn't do it point blank then S DHM can work or f.S or the other normals listed above.
-
S DHM has a startup of 9F whereas Rock It lvl.1 has a startup of 16F, HS DHM startup is 15F You guys ever tried 6P?
-
And who is that?
-
I was dusted out of Rock It(LEVEL 1) yesterday by Venom....during the dash-in punch. 5D may not be the best option, but then again I've been dusted out of Rock It at least 3 times.... And doesn't Double Head Morbid beat Rock it? And what about Dubious Curve(if you're fast enuff)? I don't know about lvl.2 or 3. I don't use those as stand alones. ....This is bad. A HOS player helping Venom players:gonk:. Then again, I was thinking about picking up Venom myself.
-
Rock It has insane priority? Over what? Since when? 5D beats Rock It. You make it sound like Rock It is like Mach Punch or Pilebunker....
-
Yeah...... I kinda fell asleep after watching the first match. I was pretty worn out.

Yes, hook me up. Upload.

I'm not saying Isa is the best Sol. I'm saying that he experiments in matches that's all. I agree he's brash and offensive. He's a good Sol whereas P.C. is a solid Sol. P.C. fights like a seasoned fighter which is why I say maybe, MAYBE he's a bit too cautious. P.C. clearly has experience in his matchups, I'm always when he makes a comeback from near-death. It's like he never loses his cool. And I do agree about the defense on Isa. P.C. clearly has the better defensive skills. And where can I get more matches of 012?
-
I have the match of Isa vs PC and Isa won. P.C. fights like an old man Sol that's why I said he's seasoned. Whereas Isa fights like a more agressive Sol, like the Sol that beat Justice. P.C. IMO, comes off as someone who's holding back, maybe a bit too cautious?. From the matches I have of Isa, when he takes control, HE TAKES CONTROL. When Isa plays, it's as if he not only plays to win the match, but to learn about the matchup itself. I'm not bashing P.C.'s style. I'm just saying it's as if he doesn't want to evolve his playstyle.

Man, I've seen just about every [insert character] lose. Except Shounen in AC....(maybe a round here and there) Has anybody seen matches of a Sol player called Do? He sports EX S colors. He's not too bad. I'll post up the link after I found them. I think they came out this week. KZO is a another HOS player I saw take on Isa and won. And didn't Kaqn take on Isa, P.C., and Mouse? Are there any matches of kaqn vs 012? I only have 1 match of 012! I need some more. @Weget: thanks for the link but is that THIRTY matches of Sol vs Jam ONLY? Edit: My bad, Sol isn't Do. I don't know his/her name. Found them:http://youtube.com/watch?v=3SoqXwUq51Q Sol vs Slayer http://youtube.com/watch?v=bjDKXKRGcxU Sol vs eddie Blast, Dbl edit:http://stage6.divx.com/Various-Vids/video/1086780/51-Sol-vs-Robo-Ky Anyone has any idea who this guy is?
-
Isa's Sol is a beast. P.C. just seems more seasoned, like more cautious Sol. What do you guys think about Mouse's Sol?

I use 5HS. I see no reason not to use it. -
Thanks Hideki. P.C.'s Sol seems to seasoned. I mean experienced. It's like he's cool under pressure. He handles each situation well.
-
Where do I go to see these latest matches of P.C.'s Sol?
-
I've encountered this myself. The reason for it is because GG maintains running momentum. Take for instance Gunflame. you ever tried doing Gunflame after running? Sol does a dash-in step Gunflame. To counter the problem with Bandit Bringer/revolver, here's what you do. Okay this is the input: 66(now you're running)4(you have to do this part), then 236+K. Because you pressed 4 before inputting 236, the game will read the 4 and thus when you input 236+K you'll get bandit Bringer/Revolver.THE TOTAL INPUT:664236+k I think the same thing can work for IAD Sidewinder. But if you're not doing an IAD sidewinder and still having difficulties, turn on display input in training mode and practice.
