Dustloop at Frubble sounds like a winner. Also, we're in the worst case scenario. The guy I saw asking for a team in the Cali thread has already got a team. And nobody responded on FB. We'll just have to find someone when we get there.

@Haki: I am driving up tonight. Getting my car looked at tomorrow morning, and going to Super Arcade that night for Xie's meetup. Then I'm gonna show up at BBR the day after as well. As for the Mahjong thing, I can't do it THIS time. But there are Saturdays where I can just not go up and say I'm doing something down here. So depending on what Saturday it is in the future, I might be able to come. Keep me informed. @Sanoshi: I'll enter I guess. I am garbage at that game and never learned how to play it properly. Ok so, we're 100% good with Frubble. They just need to know one more thing: what are we gonna call the event. Does anyone have any opinions or should we just call it "San Diego Blazblue casuals" or something like that? Remember, our first Frubble gathering is March 2nd 7PM to closing. Glod, my passport is coming in like a week to two weeks and Xie said that was cool in the Revolution thread, so I'm good for BBR. I posted on the SoCal FB page asking if anyone would be interested in filling our third spot. I also think I saw someone post in the Cali thread asking if there was anybody who needed someone, so I'll follow up on all of that tomorrow. Shtkn, I'll grab it from you at BBR. Last thing: I won't be doing anything this Friday. My car is acting pretty weird so I'm taking it to the dealership to get it checked out on Friday. That means I won't be hosting. If we all decide to go to Xie's thing at Super Arcade on Friday I can probably make it there, but I won't be able to be back in SD on Friday. Sorry if this inconveniences you guys.

Ok. Getting finalized with Frubble. They cannot have us there this week because apparently the box arena and some outfit called the traveling circus are having a big thing over the weekend and will be setting up on Friday. But I was told the Friday after would be ok, so it looks like our first gathering at Frubble will be on March 2nd. I asked some people on Dreamcancel about their experience with Frubble and the bottom line of it is: the privilege of using their place for events is for paying customers only, meaning you need to buy something. They do the boba thing, if you're into that, and also have sandwiches or something. I'm sure we can all find something we can spend a few bucks on every time we go to give back to the venue that is hosting us. For people without cars, like Watermelonz, we'll have to provide them with rides. Watermelonz, if you're interested in going to these I'll be happy to drive you there and back. Just let me know in advance whether or not you will be coming. If I get there day of and find a post at 7:30 saying people want to show up, I won't be coming back for them. So I will be hosting this week. Same setup as usual, 5PM-11PM. This time I'll be rather strict about the timing since we'll probably all have to get up and go to Revolution the day after. This may be our last non-Frubble gathering. I'm definitely pleased that our scene has grown enough that we're able to move it out of our places and into someplace new. And as another reminder Shtkn, remember to bring my KoF back please. EDIT: DISREGARD (Almost) EVERYTHING I was just reading the Revolution thread, and it seems Xie is planning a meetup at Super Arcade on Friday. Do we just want to scrap our gathering this week and head up to that instead?

Ok, so update with Frubble. I got a return email saying that it was "something we can work out." The guy wanted to know what games we play and whether or not we have a facebook page he can look at. I'm assuming we don't want to make a page just for this, and that the SoCal General FB page wouldn't really fit considering how few of SD people are in it, so I'm just going to say we plan on playing BB/GG and thats about it. But it does seem like we might be able to get our proper time slot. Rejoice!

I think Ichi said he couldn't make it to Revolution, so I guess I can just post in the FB group about needing an extra player. Or we could just not go. I still don't have my passport yet. Gonna try and get it tomorrow morning. I'm assuming since I have to register in person that it means I'll get it same day but if that is not the case I might be fucked. I'm emailing them now to see if they'll let us have our normal timeslot. I'm not sure that calendar function is entirely accurate, because rather than those study sessions being reserved for the next six months, they're reserved for over a decade according to that calendar. I highly doubt its reporting accurate info.

I can't imagine that its because its popular. More likely places just didn't order enough thinking only 5 people would care. EDIT: Also, it seems we have a problem. I looked on Frubble's website and they have this convenient calendar with all the events that are happening there this month. ALL of the Friday nights have something going on. Some things end at 8PM while others end at 12PM. That is just for this month though. Next month and for the next six months or so all that is registered on Fridays is a group study session that ends at 8PM. That would seriously curtail the amount of time we get to play, so I don't know what we can do about this. They do have a contact email for event reservations and stuff, so I will email them to see what can be done. I guess this is what happens when we come late to the party.

Really good stuff tonight guys. I'm happy to see you all had a great time. So some things to take note of: 1. We are going to Sanoshi's thing on Friday next week, so Shtkn won't be hosting. We've confirmed that Shtkn, Haki, and I are going, and that Glod and Ichi are not. That leaves Watermelonz and Roa. If either of you guys want to come, be aware that both Shtkn and I are going to be going but NOT coming back the same say, so you'd have to find a different ride home. Haki might be able to help you guys out with that though. 2. We were talking about what we'd do about venues with this scene expanding as it has, and I think we came to the conclusion that Frubble is probably the best bet we have. For those unaware of what Frubble is, its kind of a tea/smoothie type place in Santee (southeast of where Shtkn and I live) that likes when people show up and hang out there. Its the place the Box Arena uses for its events. I'm thinking we should talk to them about having our gatherings there starting soon. The Box Arena is on Tuesdays, and I know the KoF 13 tournaments they have are on Saturdays so we should have the Friday slot free. We'll finalize what we're doing with them later but I'll probably swing by this Wednesday to see if they're down with it. For people who live near me but would have no transportation to get there, like Watermelonz or other UCSD students, I'd be happy to drive them there and back if we do start having our meetups there. So keep this in mind for the coming weeks. We're doing great, it feels like everyone gets better with every meetup we have. Our scene is growing too. Keep up the good work guys.

Alright, no problem Watermelonz. Glod, its too bad you can't make it out the next two times, but at least you will (hopefully) have your stick parts by then so I can fix up your stick.

The thing about asking CO do let us do stuff there is that they have their gatherings on Monday nights, which is a problem for most of us. I usually go there for KoF anyway so it doesn't bother me, but it might inconvenience some of the others. Good shit Watermelonz, look forward to seeing the new guy. Good to see we're getting more people. and yes, if you need a ride back to campus because we're out too late then I'd be happy to provide. When do the shuttles stop for the night? Last thing, I'm thinking maybe we should see if we can get some kind of room or lounge to use at UCSD. I have no idea how we'd go about doing that, so if you have any info on what we could do about it, let me know Watermelonz. Worst comes to worst we can jack the Box Arena's location at Frubble. Its some kind of smoothie place that in addition to having the Box Arena on whatever days that it happens, also has started having KoF tournaments on Saturdays. This might be something else we can follow up. Get hype for tomorrow night. Sounds like we're gonna have about 7-8 people.
