I have one question.... the tier list that that is showed by a Japanese BBCP arcade, is a global tier list? like a compilation of all the result of all BBCP arcade machine in Japan, or is just a tier list based on the result of that solely machine. I wonder this because the arcades are connected via Nesica. -

Well, is not like that this setup is a "must learn" against Tager. You can still use the other corner UB setup, the one with IAD but! it consume more Nirvana gauge and the dmg isn't as good at this Tager only setup. I also notice that Carl can solo combo Tager with the Dash cancel and carry him to the corner... but, that timming is not like CS2, so is more hard doing that and trying to move Nirvana while carrying Tager to the corner. After watching the vid and keep asking myself? "how can i be more OP"... i remember! that after that setup you can go to the Fermmata UB setup! would you imagine that? that Dmg! xD... The magic of execution >_< PD: I never learner the fermmata ub setup U_U

At certain height, after j.C, it make the 2]D[ oki more easy to execute, that is because you have to be at a height enough that if you throw the 2]D[ it will catch the opponent when they try to jump out. j.C can remove the UB possibility only if you want to, if you want your setup to cover DP/DD, roll and jumping you will no be able to do the UB, maybe a quick low->high but you still be forcing the lockdown on the opponent or hitconfirm into a combo. If you want the UB (2]D[ + some low), you will have to delay a little bit the 2]D[, in that case is very probable that you loose the DP/DD safe thing and the opponent can just jump at wakeup. Im not saying that doing the last setup is bad, is jut that one should alternate this kind of thing. It doesn't make impossible to bait DP and still be on the offensive, because if the opponent throw the DP, your 2B or 2A will whiff and you will be able to punish him, that is the magic of this setup. Keep in mind that the timing is very strict for getting this effect. -

I don't think that volante oki is crappy, is just an option. That move is very good at baiting DP and also amazing for tick throws. I know that 6]D[ in Cp is better for that, but like all the option that Carl have, one should alternate between then. 2]D[ oki indeed is posible from 8]D[, but is more easy to do it after a j.C than an 8]D[. Also is more viable to do the j.A fuzzy guard setup. -

Carl in Cp isn't a one trick pony, his mixup and crossup option are better than before, in a sense that they can catch the opponent more easily and is more easy to hitconfirm and perform the combo after it. But, like you said... his issue is the nirvana gaugue, more than that i think what really hurt Carl in CP is the lack of cantabille combos, with them you can let Nirvana rest and even recharge. Dio never was a player that used the better combos, he just do weird stuff. About 8]D[ Oki.... it depend on where are you at the screen. If you are doing the combo in the corner, is more viable to use the 2]D[+ 2A/2B/j.A Oki setup. The reason is because a well timmed 2]D[ + 2A/2B in the corner is like an option select, 2]D[ will catch the opponent jumping, 2A / 2B will whiff if the opponent try to do a DP/DD or will hit the opponent if he try to roll out, 2]D[ + j.A is like a Fuzzy guard with 50/50 and! if the opponent do nothing, he will be forced to block either 2]D[ or 2A/2B/j.A, resulting in him being at lockdown again. 5C being jump cancellable on block isn't a big deal, and maybe is more like a nerf compared to 5B jump cancelable on block. One of the magic that 5B jump cancelable on block has, was using it with 6]D[. If you do 5B, jump, with 6]D[ you can do a high/low mixup game.... similar to the one we have now in CP with 5C. But! if you do 5B, jump and very quickly do 6]D[ you will cross-up the opponent and also being able to do a high/low mixup, even do thing like cross-up instant air backdash, j.B, j.C, land etc. Oh well, is nice to know that at least 5B is jump cancellable on hit and we can still do this. The reason why we think that Carl is free is because the lack of top player with him. They just disappear or switch to another character, without Kyaku, Ryuusei, Ranrero, Eesuke and the other one from a-cho that i always forgot, is kinda hard to expect to see a good Carl wining. I still remember Kyaku at godgarden or Ryuusei at the tachikawa tourneys.... good old times. What worry me is that Relius is considered better than Carl in CP. Well i still think that CP Carl is very good, but not as good as EXT Carl was. *Quick note, that same Oki can be done in EXT, so Carl Oki on corner is just sick. -
Dont panic and relax a little bit. Look, the Sg loop isn't so hard. The trick is, when you are on break the law, you can use either 41236 or 63214 for Shadow Gallery. What i do, is 214 (BTL) + 41236 (SG). That motion is more easy and if i feel that the opponent is too away for the loop, i can do rapidly 66, 214 + 41236. Try it with that motion. I hope that this could help you.

In the end, no Carl manage to get at least top 8 in Arc Revo. I believe this is the first time that Carl isn't in top 8 on a big tournament. Is true that Carl is indeed a very powerfull character in CP, by no meas he is a pushover, you can still get easily 6K dmg in mid-screen and his OD is one of the best of the cast, you can add to this his impressive mixup options. But!, it seem that the lack of solo combos with cantabille, plus the excessive Nirvana gauge consumption, is hitting him really bad or more like it pushing him back. Don't look cantabille as a mean to do dmg solo combos, just look it as a time out for Nirvana, for let her rest and event manage to recover a decent amount of his gauge. Now it look that is more hard to Carl to continue his game, if he manage to catch the opponent, most of the time he end spending at least 50% of Nirvana gauge, so if you try to do a couple of mixup after that and manage to do connect them, you end with almost no meter to perform the next combo. You can see this in a lot of matches, were Carl players are literally forced to stop his pressure, because if the don't, they will empty Nirvana gauge. I like his dmg and mixup option a lot in Cp, but this is the only aspect of Carl that worry me.... he seem to have a hard time to continue his game, especially when he spend almost half of his Nirvana gaugue trying to catch the opponent. -

Hey, but Order sol combos now seem to be more longer than in AC. Also love the fact that is more easy go to for the Dustloop. I dont think that this dmg is worse than Ac. Im pretty sure that i saw some dmg combos on youtube or nico video. J.S is awesome now. Now is how it should have been before!

Now that the qualification time ended, we got 4 Carl in the tourney... A good number. Carl player who managed to enter: Akiba (Carl) Nisshi (Carl) Razu (Carl) Suou momoko [ mucchi ] (Carl) What do you think about them? In my case, i feel that they lack the OP/OMG factor from Ryuseei or Kyaku, but at least Nisshi and Mucchi could give us a good fight. -

It seem that Carl can still do cantabille, Nirvana teleport combos!!! That is great, is true that still EXT cantabille is better but hey! we can still get dmg from a random hit!
