when you can do your combos automatically and have some basic conditioning, your head will be free to think of other things - then you can finally focus on gameplay. when to burst, when to use dead angle (often overlooked by beginners), and you have time to think of things such as "he is doing X again, i should try Y", "every time i do X he hits me, i shouldn't do this anymore" and so on, on a very basic level. oh, and your friends are assholes. they should give you tips instead of bashing you.

reflexes are overrated. they are important, but you probably have the same reflexes everyone else has, roughly 200ms of reaction time. whats important is conditioning, or muscle memory. you just have to push 6P automatically when you see an enemy jumping at you, things like that. what i can suggest to improve is this: practice your combos to the point of perfection. also, if you see matchvids of pro players, ask yourself this: "why did he do X?" pretend that every single thing a pro player does has a purpose. some things you will be unable to figure out until much later, when you are more experienced, but for example, "player x likes to do this move against potemkins" -> you can learn from such things.

he's the best chipp with near-perfect execution, and every time he misses the 1f combo against sols in the corner, he dies
-
susumu also switched from chipp to eddie. and i play him as a side char now. a trend, i guess.

well, it's a fact that tiers become less important at the top, but they still do matter. i like to point to ogawa's matchup list for eddie again, which shows that in his opinion, eddie's best matchup is a 6.5 to 3.5 ed vs. pot. most of the other matchups are 6:4. If anyone has a viewpoint from the top, it would be him, and as we can see, he thinks eddie has a clear advantage, although a relatively small one(!).

i'll be online for the next 4-5 hours, just drop me a line in ggpo or challenge me if any of you guys want to play. challenging might be better because of the sound. if im not in the VS room, in the ST room.
-
not cheaper than sas. i sigh when people sigh
-
wonderful CM though, homo or not. bizarre editing, bizarre soundeffects, bizarre combos.

felicia gives me a huge amount of trouble. her jump is really vicious - nice angle and fast. her normals are good, especially in the air. and mind you, i play gallon. im not surprised that the matchup list says that its a good matchup for feli. damage is ok, i mean, she has chain combos after all, just like everyone. the problem imo is that a jumpin from feli will yield 3 x the damage than the AA you can do in most cases. reminds me of kof (smalljump into combo vs., lets say, a LP as AA).

good to see some love for VS. i check the VS room on ggpo a couple of times a day, mostly in the evenings (which should be after noon in the US). if any of you people from the east coast (or even europe) wanna play, drop me a line. i need competition.

haha nice. we should make sure to thoroughly hype the next stockholm tournament in order to get coverage! -
the best way to program enemy wakeup behavior in my experience is to start programming the frame your knockdown move hits him, in this example chipp's 2d. then everytime you knock him down with 2d (from the same range), activate the playback button (hopefully at the same frame where you started recording).

japanese or US games won't work with EU-ps2 compatible ps3s, because the region protection for ps2 games is still active. at least that's what i heard. -
you need to jump cancel the j.s. since chipp has double and triple jump, you can cancel your j.K and j.S into another jump, so you do j.p, j.k, j.s, jump again, j.p, j.k, j.s, jump again, j.hs, beta blade. maybe you should read the basic gameplay faqs. also, for throwing: if you want to throw offensively out of a dash, you start to run until you are close, then immediately tap 2 buttons + back for FD once, hold back, then push HS. FDC cancel: if you play pad, just jump, hold down/back in air, and roll your thumb from kick to punch.

teleport frc combos are sooo slash
-
are you serious? they do it all the time. short pause, 6p snuffs any attempts at escape the enemy might have, be it a quick 2p or jump away. they often use it with frc.

you don't seem to understand. 6p clashes with VV, thus it is not a bait, but an option select. either way, sol is fucked.
