I didn't KNOW that at the time. Imagine my surprise when hakumen is randomly throwing out jumping 5D, and suddenly my character is someplace else. Or if Hakumen is hiding behind FourGods and then 5Ds. Characters should not teleport on the screen outside of their own inputs (chipp, bang). Don't tell me you think that is ok? That is not ok. It'd be like throwing the stick and suddenly hakumen counters and Litchi eats HAKUMEN COMBOS. Or throwing an Ice Sword and Jin teleports to the other side of the screen. PS: Any buff is good buff.
-
"litchi - ryuuisou reaches higher" :D :D :D :D :D The only thing better would be if it did more damage on counter hit or if Hakumen could no longer counter it - air or ground - and teleport poor litchi. I mean - WTF.

What I really would like is a mode that stops time while I'm learning and tells me "Right here you can Optionselect/hitconfirm/link to" and so on. "Now try doing this" Like Super Mario RPG. I just wouldn't know otherwise. I don't like to study - I like to play. Everyone else just says "figure it out".
-
They bounce or fall to ground, get back up and spin, to fall over? I guess I could Haku Again...I would try dashing in with overhead or give em a nice 3C[e] and start over, but EEEHHHHHH?!
-
That's what it says. Says ground.
-
Okay, so it is like 6C. . . . Off Chun? Oh. Off GROUND chun. That's okay.
-
Hmmm... Like hazama new spinning stuff? or Litchi 6C spinning? What hits while people are spinning like that? Maybe they don't like the otg bounce from chun?

Yeah I lose a lot. EDIT: TBH Corner to 50-70% is the most boring thing about Litchi and people good with Litchi only really have one or two things to show me and don't really do much else. I'm surprised that, among the changes that came with CS2 that they left her doing the same stuff I would see with people schooling me with Litchi in CS1 out of necessity. Despite that, she remains the character that interests me most in how I could play her. If it wasn't for the fact that she drops those one or two combos more easily than other characters or that you need a lot of execution to do it, her matches wouldn't be worth watching. I lose a lot, but most people have fun playing with me, and I enjoy learning what I can do outside of IttsuA or C into USEBURSTNAOORDIE. I guess I'm casual, but I understand she's got a strong corner game - I think it's boring as fuck and people need to explore a little or start playing Carl. I'm trying to learn THE RAPE only because I'm getting tired of losing.
-
I never learned the CORNER RAEP, anyways. (In fact, I tend to let people out...Except zoners...) Doesn't really affect me but I used j.B or j.C twice in other places. I'd like to be strong with Litchi in the middle, although the game is more about whoever can get knocked down first then put in the corner for 70%. I find it boring, most of hte time. That's why I like Warlord and Kyaro - they make it interesting in the middle.
-
LK, not just the j.B and j.C loop (Poor Tager...) but doesn't this kill some stuff after ittsuC and some stuff after whatever->Chun->2C? I don't think I like ground Chun change. Maybe I can live with it once I play it - much like CS2's 6C change. I like ittsu a lot. I want to try to get through as much as I can by using it - so I'll take it. EDIT: Ittsu C...I've been doing lots of A...

Some Carl's don't need nirvana to protect them. Carl really can take care of himself with the exception of his mobility, but just because a Carl has Nirvana on the other side of the screen and you think you re in doesn't mean Carl still has a plan or is now suddenly free - you're about to lose or get jokingly setup into my favorite carl thing: Burst->Nirvana Super.

I was thinking of getting the folks to join me for Calamity Trigger interviews and casts where we could also play. We've done two so far, and I think with some format and structure, it would be cool to show that CT is still alive because of PC.
-
Well, I could ask this for each character that doesn't - but it made more sense to make one post for that instead of three. I suppose If it's okay it's okay - I'll go ahead and start one for my main, since I don't see one. Just trying to be considerate.
-
I was wondering what you folks thought of them? I think it's a good way to get advice when you get stuck on something or somebody, if done properly. Think some should be made?

Please do not throw the word "insight" around - it's too lofty to use when asking someone at a community event to step up to the mic and try to make both boring and not-boring matches exciting. Most people will never get enough insight, and what passes for insight is confusing. Like it or not, Play-by-play is important. Not all of us like being glued to Noel vs Noel fights like it's a car accident. (Although Noel versus Noel *is* like a fucking car accident...) and some of us don't expect SOOPER SEKRET INSAITZ at EVO, where tourney players are asked to step up and be a part of the community by casting. The goal is to have fun - I don't have any real complaints, and for the TEN HOURS I watched, I was entertained and informed well enough. This isn't pro-wrestling or Monday Night Football, and even Pro wrestling has heel commentators like Bobby the Brain and Michael Cole, and football has Dennis fucking Miller and John fucking Madden. Give me a break. And then some people are never happy. Cast the way you want to. Find your personality and strength and go with it. Everyone else can try it themselves if they think they are better, more entertaining or more enlightening. Usually they aren't.

Hi There! Although I'm not a fan of the A button, in the past few matches of Litchi I've watched - I can't deny 'dat 5A and 2A. that being said - It's not easy to commentate - definitely not.
-
People I would want to hear on casts/interviews/whatever: - Tourney players - Developers - Contributors - active folks part of the community I don't think we need to start saying "you need to be king of new york or win SBO or EVO to ride this ride". It won't help much if it was one or two (which it would be) people just talking about matchups or tournaments. They will run out of things to say and it'll turn into a personality show regardless. Show this game off at all levels and you'll be showing the community. "Community" - not "clique". I think good communities work best together at all skill levels. You'll have something really awesome - I promise.
-
Oh cool - thanks LK. I'll have to try it more and see if I can do it well - but It sounds like you wouldn't have the time during a match. Looks like its "play the shit out of the matchup." or Lose.
-
Noel in general - but I definitely leaned towards CS2 for relevancy - I wrote it with CS2 in mind - I mentioned her damage and speed, right? OHH I see - Warlords video is CS1, I guess. I didn't notice. Sorry about that - anyone have an example like that one of beating out her drives with her new speed? I'll switch it up.
-
I have real trouble with this one - Noel is invincible for a lot of her drive chains, and if I'm able to read what she's going to do next, it's because I'm getting trolled with flash kick. Noel can be very tough on Litchi because Litchi likes space and time and Noel can either wait to use invincibility or decide to give you no space OR time and flatten you in three combos if you make a mistake or allow her to dictate the pace of the match. So - after getting beaten god-only-knows how many times - here's what little I know and can offer: nxastral has a lot of it - except I caution against using "Use your Combos!" as advice - it doesn't give anything to think about or understand. It more or less says "go do homework elsewhere", which makes the thread meaningless. Here's more what I would like to see in advice: - I forgot who mentioned it, but after trying it - Noel *does* get stuffed by Hatsu a lot. I'd say this is more a function of understanding how to move around the screen and position and time yourself against Noel. Learn how to watch her and get her rhythm down, because if you are too slow you *will* eat 4k and lose. That's the only lesson, there. - Tsubamegaeshi is Litchi's best friend in this match. Word of the day - EVERY DAY - is Tsubamegaeshi. Noels that really know their invincibility (GRRRR) will abuse the shit out of it, and you need Litchi's rather decent DP because of its own invincibility, ability to hit from other side (woo?) and two-stage DP that lands in front of where it starts. (although it is now slower in CS2) Do you see this? TAKE NOTE. It helped me a lot. - If you are good enough, you can also not let Noel make a plan at any time and rush her down. I advise against this - it requires being able to move FAST with Litchi, along with covering your ass and getting in Noel's face and ass and completely overrunning her by reading her reactions. This is a round 2 thing - you have no way of knowing if it's a good idea, really, unless you know the other player. - 5B[m] is really useful against her approach but most Noels figure it out or hit buttons through it. Don't get crazy with it. Use 5B to *defend* yourself. - nxastral is right - Do not follow through on 5B>5C>wishIwasinCTagain on block - you are going to eat it. Noel demands respect, even though it leaves a bad taste in your mouth to do so. - Staff release cover is a CS thing - you couldn't do it well in CT because you couldn't hit D while running. It's very valuable and I suggest every CS Litchi learn how to synergize with that stick. You cannot slam head-first into Noel. She has too much shit ready for that. Reverse and HIT 'DAT ASS. - I've found a neutral jump and late 5B[m] to the face works for a lot of characters and situations where you are about to eat combos but have nowhere to go - for Noel it's particularly useful, especially if you can 7 or 9 to her other side and HIT 'DAT ASS and then proceed with LitchiCombos. I don't know why it works so much - maybe it's because they are too busy hitting D to notice or Noel is stuck on the ground. I hope this helps. Hopefully I helped myself with this! haha!
