Long story short, I don't like how they turned his drive into a plain combo filler, since j.D resets looks like they're gone, and you can go for 6D setups in the corner only off crouching hits and by sacrificing about 2k for it. Of course, they balanced this "nerf" with neutral buffs, but in my eyes he's just turning into a more generic shoto character which is not my kind of thing. I didn't write the previous post so I could whine about that anyway, it's just that I keep seeing the "only players with ex-top tiers are whining" opinion, so I wanted to make it clear that that's not always the case.
  2. Jin is still considered just as strong, but to me he seems kinda boring in CP2. Just so you know, not every person who plays a strong character is a tier whore. I've been playing the same characters since before I was even aware that tiers existed, it's just that I don't like the direction my characters are taking in the new version
  3. You guys do understand that people who already belong to the community and care for the game, have the right to express their distaste for the choices the creators make, right? Or maybe we should just suck everything up and not be vocal about their shitty decisions. I guess we shouldn't have complained about vanilla Kokonoe either!
  4. Since you're lready onto it, how does fuzzy j.K work? I don't know when and how it happens, or how useful it is over regular mixups.
  5. Are you sure the first setup is completely reversal safe? I've been messing around with it since Dei's set got uploaded, and only 2D seems be completely safe, I guess maybe 2K and 3K as well but I don't see why you'd want to do that. I could DP through 6K, and Cargo is obviously always unsafe. 6H > dash j.2S seems to behave the same as non dash j.2S, you just dash for longer afterwards in the non dash version. The only thing that's different is how early or late j.2S hits, I don't really remember in which case it happened but sometimes it hit too early after 2D, so it didn't launch that high up for me to combo Maybe we could try doing j.2S a little later, so we can get airdash mixup. I'll hop into the lab to test if it hits meaty whenever I get the chance
  6. It was hard midscreen though so nobody did more than a couple of loops Most fun Hazama to play AS would be CSEX for me, because that's when he got the best chains plus actual setups in the corner, Gasshou wallbounce ender was great ;-;
  7. I was thinking of possible AA 2C routes involving S.Ressen, since everyone seems to just do chains > j.C for pitiful damage, but never thought of going straight into stance. I wonder how big S.Ressen's vertical hitbox is, since it was often hard to get a decent combo off a high CH AA 2C > 4D > Gasshou in 1.1 because they were so high up before Gasshou. Ojii-san hit him fairly close to the ground, but canceled into stance immediately so he was either autopiloting it (which seems kinda safe even on block), or just knew that it'd work. I'm hoping for the latter

  13. What you're describing is NOT tier-whoring, if it was they'd just switch to the best character of each iteration. We're talking about actually quitting the game here. And besides, after a certain point, it's perfectly justified to use the better characters since it's hard to survive in the harsh competitive environment otherwise. When you're a well known player across the freaking world and play for good chunks of money, you're not really playing anymore. You're trying to win.

  15. Has there been any official announcement about Xrd not being cross-buy? Or we just don't know yet? Also, is anyone aware of how companies usually handle this matter? I've never been interested in a game that features cross-buy until now, so I don't know whether they usually announce the feature along the game's release or sometime later on. I do hope that they do it, since I'm planning to get a ps4, but that won't be until later on in 2015 and I don't think I can wait this long to play this Also ps4 recordings and stuff is hype
  16. Hakumen came to be BECAUSE of the time loops. Jin went back to the past the first time he, Ragna and Nu fell into the Cauldron, Rachel found him half-dead, and gave him the "empty" Susanoo Unit which was abandoned by Terumi. There was no Hakumen before that, unless you count Black Susanoo as "a Hakumen" for whatever reason Also, there wouldn't be ANY Heroes if it weren't for Ragna and Nu merging into the Black Beast and going back to the past iirc
  17. j.C3 > pause > j.C2 or jC4 > pause > j.C1 It obviously depends on the opponent's height as well as the combo, just get a simple 1.1 combo from the combo thread and practice the pauses in it
  18. S.Gasshou seems useless midscreen atm unless you wanna Jakou afterwards, but it apparently got its untech time buffed. 3C > Jabaki > J.Gasshou > 66C, and Throw > J.Gasshou > 6A are a thing
  19. Probably. I mean, isn't that also the case in vanilla and 1.1? I'm not sure about the safejump, but punishing rolls with it is definitely height dependent. Doing 5B(1) instead of 5B(2) or 5B(1) > 5C for example doesn't give you that option iirc. I bet it's the same with the safejump

  22. If you hit them with lvl1 Gasshou but S.Gasshou whiffs you're probably canceling the throw into stance too late, if you do it quickly enough the combo should be pretty easy Also you should follow it up with 66 5C > j.C5 > 5C > sj.B > j.C2 > dj.C5 > Hiren instead

Yeah he's probably gonna be fine after all. 2C > 6B > 5B and Senshouzan > 2B anywhere on the screen are hilarious, now all we need to see is a decent universal corner route that doesn't involve spending meter or crouchers. Lack of OD Touga in matches makes me sad too, people would still go for Getsumei though even without the Touga min damage nerf since you don't need to space yourself at all
