  1. Oh good goddammit this is probably what I've been doing wrong for months, can't wait to try again when I get home from work today, I'm going to feel dumb as fuck if this is why I could never dashunder 3C...thanks, lol
  2. We're trying to figure the venue part out as of recent. Nickel City is cheaper/more spacious but ignite is an easier commute for several people. I'll be at NC tomorrow night, unless we're for some reason very short on SFxTK setups I can have BB up again, but more setups always help.
  3. Keits is the one in charge of UFGT8, I'm not sure if he'll be at NC this Saturday, but next Saturday(3/17) is a tournament at NC, there won't be BB there but I know he'll be around.
  4. Trying Abyss mode for the first time today, this shit's addictive lol
  5. Keits said that if it were to happen the Sunday would be the best day for it, I think that's May 27th.
  6. The room at NC is from 7:30~ to 1am~ for comparison, so it's about the same amount of playtime. I had also had a small discussion with Keits re: holding a side tourney at UFGT8 should there be enough interest garnered if that's something you guys want to pursue.
  7. Yeah correct, it's similar to the way Ignite and GGA are the exact same time from me despite being on opposite ends of the city, lol. GGs Shin, it was nice to meet you, hopefully I can put some time in and level up a bit in the near future, look forward to playing you again. @ CrazyApe, I'd check the routes, while NC is further north there may be a route with less traffic that makes it closer on time.
  8. If you mean the stream for FR, yeah I'm pretty sure that'll get managed somehow.
  9. Don't worry, like I said I think we don't officially have the space until 7:30, though the last couple times I got there around 7 they let me go ahead and set up.
  10. That is in fact what it's from, I spent 4 years on Ramuh and 2 on Cait Sith, quit when they did the raise to 80 cap. If you've ever been on bluegartr.com, I'm the same Callisto that moderates there. Hope to see some of you at NC tonight! It starts around 7:30pm.
  11. It actually appears that I in fact might be doing it after this week!
  12. There was a TK6 setup at NC like...the very first week. Haven't seen one since then. Re: recording and such, yeah we pretty much always do 720 HDMI setups to Asus monitors. I have a reliable HDMI splitter that I had people test on AE at NC a few weeks back and everyone said it was fine in terms of not adding any lag. I have a full recording setup but atm I'm not that into dragging my entire rig over to NC, but I can think about it if it's something that people really want done. Usually I just scrap the raw footage once I upload things to yt to cut down on storage needs. And @ HL: was Medina taking Saturdays? I was looking into streaming them myself but don't have a full setup yet, still need one more splitter and mics/webcams/audio mixer. Edit: I should have noted re: TK6, if your friend has a console/monitor he's willing to bring he can pretty much setup what he wants, the only thing I'd recommend bringing that's out of the ordinary is maybe a power strip and maybe an extension cord. I haven't been there in a few weeks but I know they were going to make the table situation a bit better for us, but it seemed like they were low on power strips.
  13. My setup is a 360, maybe both depending on if someone else brings a setup.
  14. I'll snag my g/f's netbook and put Tournament Maker on it, in case we can round up 8+ players we can make a little $2 one for lulz.
  15. Usually at Nickel there's about 3-5 SF4 setups(360), 2-4 UMvC3(360), 1-2 KOFXIII(PS3), and one random thing of whatever someone decides to set up, SFII:ST/HDR, SFIII:3S, GG:AC, etc. Obviously you'll want to bring a dual-system stick if you have it, though I always have a spare 360 stick on me for those who need it. Anyone who can bring a spare setup is also welcome, the owner of NC was nice enough to purchase 5 VH238H's for us before we even started our first event there. edit: I probably should have said it earlier, Nickel Saturdays start at around 7:30-8:00pm and run until the place closes.
  16. Most of the people at our local weekly events are pretty relaxed, many of them aren't actively interested in playing BB themselves, but they don't go out of their way to be jerks to people who play it either. When I had BB on last week, while I wasn't able to get anyone to play with me(in fairness we only had about 10 people there when I had it on my 360 because of the impending weather forecast, and 4 of them were MK9 players) most everyone at least expressed passing interest of 'how is Extend?' rather than deriding the game in any way. A few guys flat out don't like it but it's not like they're going to come over and make fun of you for playing it or anything. Even if noone is interested in doing Nickel I'll hopefully make it out to your next event as I am in dire need of leveling up @ BB, I just figure that having it at a place with cheap/free entry that already has space set aside might be beneficial, especially with several games going on in case you guys play anything else. I'll be at both GGA this Thursday and Nickel this Saturday if anyone wants to come out to check the places out, I'll be trying to keep BB on my 360 up until the AE tourneys are set to start, unless we have plenty of setups in which case I'll leave it on full-time.
  17. I didn't realize you guys were meeting at Ignite on the Saturday, nice. I might as well ask since the space is already available and there's no venue fee, and even when there is it'll only be $2, but would you guys maybe be interested in making next month's gathering at one of the Nickel Saturdays in Northbrook? There's plenty of space there and there'll be several players playing other games, which would hopefully increase the likelihood of getting other random people to try out BB. There'll also likely be small $2~5 tourneys for AE/MvC3 for those who play other games, if we had a dozen or so players we could probably get our own BB one going as well. Figured it'd be worth asking, I'm out at Nickel most Saturdays as is.
  18. Not sure who here is also an SRK poster so I might already talk to some of you...anyone here go to Thursdays at GGA? Edit: I probably could have made a better first post in the thread... I'm Ryan, aka Callisto, currently from Hoffman Estates. I'm a relatively new FG player, with CT being the first game I ever played seriously in any manner. BB is my favorite series, though I spent a large amount of time on SF4 since AE has come out, between that and the time not spent on BB:CS2 I'd say I'm not considerably better at that. I'm mediocre at FGs overall, I have down most of the high-level concepts but I have clunky hands and bad offline nerves which equals shitty execution. I currently play AE, UMvC3, and CSE actively, I own MK9, SC5, and KOFXIII but I'm not big on MK as a serious game, am absolutely baffled by SC5, and am just plain too bad to play KOFXIII(lol). usually attend GGA's Windy City Showdown every Thursday and Nickel Saturdays at Nickel City most weeks. I'm always willing to keep BB on my setup until the AE tourney starts. As far as what I'm looking for...I totally fell of the train with BB, for not having a high-level understanding of FGs before(AE has helped a ton with this) I still did okay as Ragna, but I'm very out of practice and am pretty awful with him so far in CSE. I'd love to get real practice in rather than just lab grinding, especially offline. I don't really expect to be winning tourneys in any game, but I'd like to get to where I can pick up a stick and play competently with at least one character/team regardless of what game is on. Also, I'm a huge fan of BB/ArcSys and I want to support them just to see them do well so they keep making games so I try to toss in my pot money where I can and get people to play it when I can. So yeah, there's that.
  19. Kinda sad that they made Challenge mode complete autopilot this time around, new challenges were one of my favorite parts of BB:CS versions.
  20. Kind of a random question I guess, but are any of you other guys particular about what color palette you use? I can't bring myself to use something other than baby blue Ragna :x
  21. Ahhh, gotcha, missed that part in the OP. Thank you.
  22. Thanks!
  23. Going to slide this under the 'quick tips for performing BnBs' clause: I can't for my life get TK Gauntlets to come out. If I wait long enough for the jump frames to start the GH doesn't fire when I hit the button. Anyone have tips for this? Related: What's the advantage of a TK GH over a normal grounded one?
  24. Something that was confusing me, in a combo like this: Does this mean that crossunder 3C is the ender of the combo, and you no longer go into 22C like in CS2? Does this just leave you with a corner knockdown to oki off of?
  25. I live out in the suburbs and I don't get out a whole ton myself, but you'll probably want to check out Galloping Ghost. It's more or less the only real arcade in the area as far as I know, if there's a scene that's probably where you'll find it.
