Yeah, that's what I was wondering. 6C has a 24 frame recovery, according to the frame data if I'm reading that correctly, so I am not sure if Tager has anything that can close the gap a 6C makes if it whiffs. He could say, sledge in, but you can do 6C again if need be, or you know, run. That aside, 6C does have a 100 P1 so it's a fairly good starter. I was just curious about the effectiveness of 6C in the match up

6C, 236x, 3C, Legacy Edge(?), j.x; all good ways to stop a mindless sledge charging Tager. I'm sure when Extend hits, you'll find a lot spamming it so just teach them a lesson to remind them their place. And considering Lambda can do CH 3C > 236D, that opens a lot of options to her game plan if she gets in (odd I know). That aside, is there any way for Tager to stop Lambda's 6C aside from spark bolt? I mean he could jump, but is the recovery good enough that Lambda can 2D > 4B, or something to that effect? Edit: I'm referring to 6C as a spacing tool or a punish, maybe even a poke. It pushes the opponent back so I think it could be useful.

Yeah, if she has a tougher time escaping I suppose I can see it in that direction. Overall, I think Lambda is in a better place than she was in CS2. Even though not a lot has changed for her, she had a lot of even match ups, which transformed into favorable match ups to her. I really can't wait to try her new combos out and whatnot. Just talking about MU and stuff makes me want Extend all the more. That aside, anyone know how I make my avatar slightly bigger? Seems that it's much smaller than most people's (not talking mod size). Edit: @Seph, yeah he does have a good mind game. I was actually looking over the speculated match ups between Lambda vs Hazama, Bang, and Tao, and honestly, if those variables are true, I think I'll be satisfied.

Either way, that really doesn't matter does it. He has good damage output but Lambda has much higher mobility, his ways of getting in are mediocre at best. I can't really see it being anything but 6-4. His meter gain is good but most times you can read when he's going to do it or not, his new sledgehammer can still be stuffed by 236B if they haven't changed that. And besides, doing sledge charge when Lambda has meter is asking to be legacy edge'd into a 6k+ combo. The reason I think it's still 6-4 is because the style hasn't changed very much. He has some new tools, but that still doesn't change how a Lambda will play the match-up, which is being an annoying ass and getting flamed a minute later for running away all the time. Edit: Netplay, I can actually see the match up being 5.5-4.5 or even though lol.
-
Haha Hex. I think my mind just imploded! On a related note, that match-up chart is funny though. I mean, some of it I can understand say Lambda being 4-6 versus Carl, but 5.5-4.5 with Tager? I don't think any buff Tager received would change the match up. 6-4 unless they decide to give Tager and sprinting dash, full projectile immunity, and whenever Lambda decides to do 236x it doesn't happen, she just gets astral'd. Hell, why not just put Carl behind Tager, that'd be kind of funny.

SS Tier: Valkenhayn S Tier: Jin, Hazama, Makoto A Tier: Platinum, Mu, Lambda, Hakumen, Taokaka, Carl, Relius B Tier: Bang, Tager, Litchi, Noel, Arakune, Rachel, Ragna, Tsubaki I love being a random ass person making random ass lists. Next up, let's make a list on top of a list, that way we have a list of lists redirecting to more lists, which subsequently have lists made by random people. :D
-
Thanks a bunch Hex. Devil Survivor 2. Loved the first one. I'm going to play it while I wait for the first on my list.

Only Soul Caliber I liked was the first one on dream cast. I couldn't really get into the rest. Though I may try out SC5 later down the road. But my gaming buys are booked for the next few months. There's XIII-2, then Extend, next up is Tales of Graces f, and finally Xenoblade Chronicles, and I may get Max Payne 3 in May. 2012 looks like a good year for JRPGs at least. Hope they keep coming. Also, I think a Shin Megaten releases sometime in the next few months so I may get that as well lol.

Yeah I know right. I mean, that was the whole purpose of the adventure. Saving the world just happened to happen along the way as well as that little boy with the rubber fro. Since my other gamertag got hacked, I'm going to try to max out on achieve points for 13-2 on this one. Should be a fun week.
-
Haha, if I could sig all of that I would. I'm hoping there are more of those moments, that would win the game for me. That and making Lightning playable, I mean she's on the cover so she should be, but I'm worried. It's a good thing Serah isn't Vanille. I'd cry then. Also, 13-2 is 3 years after 13. WTF aren't Snow and Serah married by now. I think I laughed about that for a good while. 13 left too much to the imagination with its ending and you find out, nothing really happened.
-
Haha, so that's what happens if you don't use that crystal thing and instead just fight it? I should do it then.
-
This is Lambda general. We live on an artificial high that 6D can handle any and all troubles. So our bad match-ups that are 4-6, psssh 6D makes them 7-3. And yeah, I played the demo for 13-2, it was cool and all. I mean it's mostly like 13 from what I can tell, except I'm guessing they're going to do a FF6 kind of thing where you have multiple parties out and about. The monster stuffs looks fun too. Anything where I can min/max go crazy disgaea mode on is awesome.

Usually, if you read your opponent well enough, that Hazama will jump. It's similar to fighting a Lambda. Just gotta pick them off to make them a bit wary. An odd thing to note, 5A stuffs that charge overhead of his. Probably beats out the low as well if he holds it for too long. One thing I'm trying to get better at against him is counting the pulling counter thing he has, I always ignore it for some reason. Since extend isn't coming out until the 14th, I'm actually anticipating FF13-2. Looks promising enough.
-
Hazama's jump a lot. 6D. That's about it for this story.
-
We should start complaining about Taokaka. That's always fun.
-
It reminded me of a seismic toss from pokemon. So I thought it was really fun that she got something that does that. That aside, Toan has a point, Carl's mobility is subpar compared to Lambda's and his options for getting in are limited to the slide on the ground and air dash. They removed glide throws in CE so that's one option gone. Also, you can simply spam 6D if you want, it's jump cancel-able so you're not screwed if it hits the doll, and if it whiffs you can more than likely catch him with 4B because he can't reach you as fast as others can. Or, you can do as severin did in evo and use 2C to play around the doll. It is jump cancel-able as well, so you can use it to kill some doll meter and retreat. Not sure how viable this is, but Carl lacks a real DP, so you can essentially pressure him to death if he's in the corner. Carl without Nirvana the match up becomes 7-3 in Lambda's favor :D Oh and we should make an unlimited Nu only room when extend hits and spam that new super :D
-
Nu in CS would be unlimited Nu without the double swords and the Lambda damage potential. She'd keep all the crazy canceling parsers though. You pretty much couldn't stop her pressure if she had half a mind to keep it going. Have you seen unlimited Nu's new super, it's so cute :D
-
Unlimited Nu has it! I'm drawing inspiration from her.
-
Nu would obviously be god-tier in this game if she decided to grace us with her presence. Think about it. She can cancel 236B into 236C, if 236C is blocked she can cancel it into cross-up by passing through or just retreating, and also... gravity seed would be god mode. D spam, gravity, etc that's all she did in CT lol. On a side note, since 2C would be godly for Nu, Hazama would have trouble getting in, Tao would get wrecked because she's a glass cannon, Bang's teleport is lame compared to Nu's, Valk would get destroyed by 236C cancel act parser into more 236C or cross up 236B, who carries it'll be like she's on crack. Oh and Carl, he'll just die, because that's what happens when Nu can actually bypass the doll altogether :D That is Nu in a nutshell and why she would be so broken. Remember kids, if you can cancel 236B into 236C and cancel that into a retreating act parser and continue pressure wherever you want... well... you'll just win at this game called life! :D Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention... I know how much all you Lambda players miss it...cross up 5C :D
-
From what I understand, Hazama is annoying for sure, but he has to come into melee range, thus he isn't Nu-like. I mean, Nu could just spam sword and 214A/B/C all day long, but Hazama, he can spam chain and you'll lose all day long. Either way, I think the way Arc works is that whoever is the current antagonist of the game, must be top-tier. Whenever BB3 comes out, safe bets on Saya being god-tier, followed by Xi-14(the new Lambda), Mu, Nu, Noel, the old Lambda, and how about the past Saya because we need a loli in the clone smorgasbord. Yes friend. Though I haven't played you lately. At least I'm pretty sure we played each other. Either way, I'm not sure what happened on that day at that place during that time, but regardless of what did or didn't happen, good games! :D
-
Yeah, it's funny how this crazy sophisticated android killing machine can lose so easily to a boy and his doll. Technology at its finest.
-
Your comparison sounds so ironic because it's so how Lambda/Nu is :D But I'm not going to sugarcoat it, being in the corner, even with those things I said, can be tough. Overall, I think it boils down to getting an adequate amount of experience and playing good players. I still have problems myself, but when I manage to escape its wonderful.
-
236A is good but I'm not sure. I'm not entirely sure of it's start-up but frame data says it passes through the opponent 8f-13f, whereas the start-up for a jump is 4f. But you don't want to toss those jumps out all willy-nilly same with 236A. Paying attention to openings is key though. You can also use barrier to push the opponent back to create space so you can jump or 236A or what have you. And if you instant-block you can usually poke out by some means. There are a lot of things you can do, but guessing the correct one can be a difficult one. Lately, I've been having some success with 4B, I've been using it for fun, not sure how it fares in a practical sense.

I think sev needs another Lambda to hug while he's there. There are so few of us D:
-
I'm glad I was able to help. I've just started using that advice myself and it works wonders when you realize how speedy Lambda can be (that and my defense has gotten way better). In most cases, if you want the 236D (wheel) to not whiff, you can delay 6C a few frames or so and it will normally not whiff. That's what I do typically since 6C has a good amount of untech time. In some cases, you have to delay it because maybe you hit 5C too earlier or they're too high up, delaying moves can make combos work.
