  1. GGs to XDest -- didn't get a chance to play anyone else in the room, but I got to start experiencing the Tao matchup a bit. Thanks~
  2. Holy crap, I can finally participate in one of these! :D! PSN I.D.: Doc_Orona Character: Noel State/Province: NY Time Zone: EST
  3. Due to BS that was out of my control... IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL BRACKETS ARE STARTING ONE HOUR LATER THAN ORIGINALLY PLANNED. So BB will be starting at 3pm, GG will be starting at 5pm, and MB will be starting at 6pm. AND PLEASE FOR ANYONE WHO IS COMING EARLY, BRING A COPY OF WHATEVER GAME YOU'D LIKE TO PLAY WITH YOU, THE VENUE DOES NOT HAVE COPIES OF BB OR GG AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL MOST LIKELY FIND YOURSELF BORED UNLESS YOU ASK ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES TO PLAY ONE OF THE GAMES THEY DO HAVE AVAILABLE (i.e. MK9, SF, Marvel, SC5, etc etc).
  4. Info was added, actually... I didn't add the entire clusterfuck of information, but I added a link to the post I had with all the public transit info. It's with the rest of the venue information as seen below:
  5. Heh, and I was gonna send you a PM to make sure you knew this was happening. Your welcome ^^ Fixed.
  6. Welcomes~ Where you from dude?
  7. Drive input knowledge will come to you naturally over time as long as you're practicing and spending time with Noel. I believe you'll improve. =) Well if you can do silencer in training mode or against the CPU with no problems then its either nervousness or lag causing it. If lag IS the real cause, then just keep in mind the following: if there's input delay, that means you have to press buttons while assuming that everything will land. For example, if I do 6B > 3C > Silencer, and I don't see 6B on-screen until I press 3C, that means the lag is bad enough to where you have to know the combo so you can "execute it without seeing the visual cues". As for understanding when to use Noel's normals ... I can try to break them down a bit. 5A/2A: Used to apply pressure, so it's only really used up-close to stay on the offense and to catch your opponent if he's mashing buttons. 6A: Used exclusively as an anti-air (so if your opponent airdashes and hits j.A, j.B, or whatever, it's used to counter them and start a combo); it can also be used in combo chains, like 2B > 6A > 6C > Stuff, but starting a combo with 6A is dangerous because it's unsafe when blocked. 5B/5C: These are meant as spacing tools. Spacing isn't my strong point, but my understanding is that it's used to keep yourself a safe distance from your opponent but while keeping them on the defensive. 6B: Overhead, only applies really during mix-ups. EDIT: Sorry Luna. Fixed that 6B bit.
  8. Sup Guan, I haven't had a chance to play BB on a Vita, and probably never will. Q-Q I'm hoping the net quality is good enough to where your inputs aren't getting super delayed. Regarding your actual play, I'll just mention two areas that can see improvement. First thing is your drive usage. From what I can tell, it's random and most likely cause you're just not familiar with which input does what. This gets better as you spend more time with the character, but will also get better as you learn a few combos that has you using the same drive inputs. Also gonna tell you the same thing I was told a while ago. j.D in neutral is generally a bad idea (as you were doing @0:55 in that match vs Carl). If it whiffs or gets blocked, you're at a disadvantage and can usually get punished. So be careful. The second thing I wanted to mention was your Haida (Silencer) use. Seems like you're waiting too long to follow up after 3C. Not sure if that's a result of netplay, or if you're waiting for the animation to finish, or because you're on Vita, or something else, but it should be coming out faster than what it is. There was a couple times where Ragna almost rolled out or completely rolled out. That shouldn't be happening. And again, gonna say the same thing I was told. 3C is also unsafe to use without landing 6B first. Random 3C's aren't a bad thing though, it just means if you fight someone who knows about how Noel works, they're probably going to block 3C and punish you.
  9. Bump. Tournament is still a go; I picked up my happy Happauge recorder that I now have to play with to make sure I have it working properly. Public transit info is also on that tourney thread for anyone who's not sure if they can make it or are having troubles figuring out how to get there. Lastly, I need a little bit of help from you guys. Log onto FB for 10 or 20 seconds and like this page please. It'll help me with preparing fliers for the tourney. A bit off-topic, but I'm gonna re-format that first post sooner or later. I think it's overdue to be completely re-done. Oh, and I met another Nassau player, so I'm adding him to the directory. Tsuuna, for those of you that might know him or have played him already. Excellent Bang player.
  10. I know public transit info is late getting out, blah blah blah. Anyway, for those of you expecting to use public transportation to get out for this: ~By train: Your stop on the LIRR is the Valley Stream train station. From there, it's a 5 minute walk to The Gamer's Edge that's pretty straightforward. ~By bus: There are 2 buses with stops at the Valley Stream train station, the n1 and the n2. From there it's the same process as if you'd taken the train. There is a 3rd bus that has a scheduled stop on E. Merrick and Rockaway Avenue, the n4. Walking from that stop is a little longer than from the train station, but both are under one mile in distance. Just once you get off the bus, you'll be walking southwards in the direction of Lincoln Ave. There's a seemingly long chain of traffic lights, but the blocks are pretty short. Once you reach the underpass, you should have a visual of McDonald's. Walking past there, The Gamer's Edge should be on your left. For the peeps that don't feel like they need to waste 5 minutes on that video, just note the following landmarks if you're walking: ~Staples (near the train station) ~McDonald's (less than a block from the Gamer's Edge) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- And if you're driving out and want a clue as to where the parking lot is, well, you can look at this. Again, if you feel like skipping the video, just know that the street after Gamer's Edge is Fourth Street. You turn down that and literally right behind the building is a lot that's meant for the employees that work there and the residents that live there. There's some yellow painted parking spots that don't require any permit or anything but have a 2-hour time limit, the white painted spots do require a permit.
  11. Protip: Until proven otherwise, assume that the entire BB scene is poverty But yeah, there is no way I can manage a trip to and from Brooklyn D: Especially if I gotta drive you back afterwards. However, what I can do is..... [[-sends PM-]]
  12. 5 seats including the driver. I'm going alone as of right now so you has 4 open seats to work with. You bringing anyone with you?
  13. Well the main 3 events are BB, GG, and MB, all of which are on the first post. BB: 2pm GG: 4pm MB: 5pm The only thing I didn't mention is that the gamers edge opens at around noon. I guess the other thing I should've mentioned is if anyone wants to bring their PS3 or 360 copy of [insert random fighting game here], they can bring it and we should be able to have a setup for it (assuming of course, that we don't run out of space). I'll edit that in a bit later, after I get the public transit info together.
  14. And as I have stated multiple times in the LI thread, I live like 2 minutes from Hofstra and have no problem with providing transportation. :3

  16. Bump + FB group link. https://www.facebook.com/groups/306596406060500/
  17. Damn I'm mad I had to miss this. Maybe I'll catch the next one...
  18. Well since you're not going, you owe me some netplay casuals. Did you ever accept my request on XBL?
  19. I'm honestly not sure. Seems like Thursdays are better for Hito, so I'm thinking we'll just stay with that until he wants to start dodging the venue fee. Besides, I wanna get at that chill-ass couch again.
  20. Another night of casuals, got home safe. Shoutouts to Hito getting bodied by that worm in Marble Zone (from Sonic). Shoutouts to that traffic light that's been blowing HK up for the last 5 years. Fucking S-tier. Shoutouts to me getting curbstomped by fatigue and passing out in the corner of TGE for like 15 minutes. In other news: We are still planning to host a tourney on 3/31. We'll have a thread up before the weekend is out.
  21. It's aight I guess. People will show up in time. I just wish we had more active posters. Thread is a bit slow (compared to others) and info takes a while to get around.
  22. Dont have your FB, but uh. Here you go. (If it's the wrong link or whatever, just tell me. I'm FB-impaired, real talk.) https://www.facebook.com/groups/306596406060500/ It hasn't been edited to an airdasher group just yet so hold tight. I'll see if I can have it fixed. If not, we may have to remake the group. Edit was successful. It's stated to be for airdashers now.
  23. Well in that case, I'm gonna hit XBL for a few hours this afternoon. I'll just have a lobby open from 4pm until whenever. I'll give Ushman a heads up too so maybe he can get on.
  24. If you wanna add me, I'm down to play with you. My Noel is just a bit weird. Optimal combos aren't something I spend much time practicing. So if you take anything from me, don't let it be the combos that I do. Stick to the combos posted in the combo thread for the best damage output.
