  1. GCOD still uses up your burst so for some chars it's still gonna be not worth it. Ones with reversals benefit the most out of it since you can effectively use Baiken style guard cancels with GCOD>DP. Due to the duration of it being so short though it mostly will be chars whose reversals are DDs that will benefit. For example, Ragna doing GCOD>ID may not even be worth it since OD will run out before he does the axe kick while Tager can ODCG>720 and you will be hit by the OD version of the move. Similar is true for Bang with his shippuugeki DD, which actually does about 2000 more damage when in OD as opposed to out of OD (though with over 15 frames of startup the stuff you can reversal with it will be quite limited).
  2. The waltz is fun because you switch partners a lot, not cause of the dance itself being inherently fun. Then again, dancing an interesting dance with various partners is always better.
  3. It's not full price, it's $40. Also, apparently there's gonna be a digital ver so just make a US psn and buy the game digitally so you won't have to deal with the crazy taxes.
  4. Haha, when you cook with someone you wanna have just one central vision and the other person will be like your little helper (or as I affectionately call them "the prep bitch") who gets all the peeling and washing odd-jobs so trust me, I completely understand where you're coming from. What we can do is just make two different things and I can help you with yours while you're teaching me the steps and then you can help me with mine and I'll teach you the steps and we both have complete control over the process. You basically need a leader and all the people should be following the exact same plan rather than just doing whatever comes to mind. In execution of a recipe there's only right and wrong, no compromise.
  5. Hmm, what's left...Sonic fans? Are there even any sonic fans left any more? I mean current sonic game fans, not people like me who played the genesis games and remember them fondly but have not played sonic for the last 20 years :P.
  6. You can't jump cancel 5D on block, only on hit and if it's a standing/crouching 5D hit then they will recover before you even touch the bumper lol. Beyond blockstrings and into comboing,. the main issue with bumper combos is that the bumper combo must entail the bumper placement itself mid-combo otherwise it's too unstable. Like, in cs2 you could confirm a 6C with the bumper placement necessary for the bumper combos while in newer games the bumper had to already have been set which makes it not really worth going for when compared to other options or a very rare/setplay heavy thing. Basically, good luck having a bumper exactly when you need it while you do your 5B>5C>5D string so that a jump cancel will put you on the bumper. I'll tell you what though, you may not wanna jump cancel the 5D and go into the bumper but you may wanna bumper-cancel it! 5D special cancel would give you enough time to place a good bumper and then go from it into bumper-centric combos(on air hit) or mixups. Time will tell how those would go but it's at least more promising than 5D>5A (which is something you can already do without hopping up and down a bumper on air hit and not really that great lol)
  7. *Juubei is added as dlc due to fan request* Community: "I'm not paying 8 bucks for a fucking cat! And he has no storymode either! I'll just wait for extend." *Extend is announced* Community: "Why is this not a dlc patch to the game I never bought!?!?!?!?"
  8. Hopefully I can join that one. Also GGs for the peeps who showed up for Friday's thing. I got all that Elphelt experience now.
  9. Presumably anything into corner web nail > 5D can lead to astral. Maybe not from point blank but if not then definitely from a little bit out of the corner. 5D>CT works and CTs have a huge startup too and that works in any range.
  10. And while it holds true for specifically Rachel, for the majority of the rest of the 28 chars in this game, it does not. It's quite the opposite. That's my point. It's an overall upwards movement. Just some chars got nerfed. Mostly ones who deserved it. (I have no idea why Terumi had to suffer, but beyond him and maybe Arakune, it's all good choices when taken as a whole)
  11. Rachel's wind regen got shot in the knee which basically adversely affects everything. As for Azrael, he's still solid, he just lost some options like jD not knocking down in a way that you can do oki after midscreen (which means he has to end in j2D which applies a low weakness which is less good) or growler not being dp any more.
  12. Well, I don't see it being taken away though. Even this subject alone is hugely up for debate and contention. I have seen lots of cp2 footage. Some chars are less free but others are much much more free. This sounds like it's coming from a Kokonoe/Azrael/Litchi/Rachel-centric point of view. Basically, lots of people who played the chars who got nerfed (who did well and thus have a loud voice, since they used the best of the best) are complaining about the game being less fun but I bet you there's tons of people who used some of the worse chars which now get to be actual real characters and do things who are ecstatic about the patch. Tager Izayoi Makoto, these chars seem like a breath of fresh air and tons of fun. Bang also is like that, though he always was fun for me. All in all, I still have no clue what the hell that statement even means and am inclined to believe it's coming from a place of "my S tier char is only A/B tier now so it's not fun to play BB any more", to be quite honest.
  13. What does that even mean though? You can interpret that as people not liking their mains being nerfed or them not liking fighting Nu or Jin or a million different, person-by-person things. "It's just not fun" is an opinion more so than a game trait. I mean, hell, sf4 is not fun according to a lot of the best players but they still play it lol.
  14. Xrd is mostly to blame for this, what can you do. At least Extend is coming out so it'll revitalize the scene some. We're too small of a community to have a lot of people that play all games sadly. I try to play everything but even though I have 5 games I play I did drop persona so I can't really blame someone who dropped BB.
  15. Nah P4 has a ton of depth to it. Autocombos are nothing significant since you only would use them if you had a bad confirm since they give you your burst back and a chunk of meter. It's like 3% of the game. Overall, like how GG and BB have devoted fans who treat these games as their main game that they love, so does persona. It may not be ours but the situation is not dissimilar.
  16. I fail to see the logic in saying "not too many players are fond of " a version that most players that would attend evo have never played. Is he talking theory-fighter? Is he saying that the tourneygoers all play Kokonoe? Like, that notion makes no sense. Out of the people who go to evo, maybe 3% play in Japanese arcades lol. As for Galileo, my understanding is he accidentally snapped his card so he quit, not that he got beat by Nu so hard he had a rage-stroke and broke it himself on purpose. Overall, we get persona and Xrd at evo and CP2 won't be out in America till after Evo has ended, these reasons combined is why it's not there I think.
  17. Oh yeah, how could I forget. Makoto is a character again finally. Those midscreen 236A combos look awesome too.
  18. Basically hitstun translates as wallstick but there's some residual hitstun from the 5D itself which allows them to slide some without recovering. Then, if they slide enough to touch the floor the normal amount of hitstun which would have been there is prolonged by a set value. The beak driver loops work by abusing this touch-the-ground-hitstun which seems to not be affected at all by the regular hitstun decay that every other things is affected by. They tech when you hit them before they're become low enough to the ground so before they touch the floor the hitstun of your move ends and they pop out.
  19. I dunno where this "It's all nerfs!" thing comes from when a lot of chars who were struggling (Izayoi, Bang, Tager, Bullet, Tsubaki) became better and a lot of the good chars also became better if not stayed about the same. Only the super duper strong chars got nerfed in this...and Hazama/Valk are STILL on top despite that. Is this "it's all nerfs" thing specifically pertaining only to Kokonoe, Rachel Hakumen and Mu? Cause I can't think of a char who got significantly nerfed outside of those. if anything, it's the other way around. If anything, the chars who got nerfed got buffs to mitigate those nerfs by a good enough degree that they're still competitive (though maybe not S tier) and may end up also being more fun to use, which is great.
  20. You're 100% correct but even WITH that flawed way of reasoning people use it's STILL incorrect to expect cp2.0 as a free patch. It's just the flawed logic that bugs me, never mind that people shouldn't be using this logic in the first place.
  21. Sure, if you wanna complain about gameplay stuff such as Kokonoe in 1.0 that's reasonable. Nobody said anything about that here lol. How much stuff costs and whatnot are entirely from the business by the numbers side of things which we don't influence at all though. This is not new in any case, there's been an extend before. It's a very clear pattern. It apparently did well enough to support a sequel so what you purport as an issue didn't really measure up as far as the general playerbase is concerned.(which includes first and foremost the Japanese audiences, thus is doubly irrelevant for us to bitch and moan) . Definitely not as much as Kokonoe did anyhow. Oh and complaining about issues is one thing while saying "I'm not buying this game" is another. The latter doesn't suggest solutions or anything pragmatic and is just a blog update that's not helpful.
  22. The free update was cp1.1. Just cause the arcades called it cp2 it doesn't mean it's parallel to cs2 which was free. The parallel to cs2 was cp1.1.
  23. I wonder why people even need to say they're not getting something. Like, that you're this invested alone shows that you want to get it in some capacity and are just holding off. I don't go and post in the million and one forums of games I don't get to let them know I'm not gonna get that game. I just don't get it and focus my time on appreciating the stuff I do get.
  24. So, assuming they do the same thing with Xrd (price ps4 version higher) a ps3 ver may come at $40 after all. Hope my guess is true. edit: Yep it's 40. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U2E28Y0/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00U2E28Y0&linkCode=as2&tag=aksygameoffiw-20&linkId=ZUJ6FK4UL7DLZ7VS
  25. Don't ask me lol. What you see there is all I know. I'd expect it to be $40 since the other one was that much. I'm more concerned with when during "Summer" it'll be out. June is fine but August means I'm importing lol.
